Right I am looking for a little help here folks. So here goes...

We have booked a holiday to Disney this October and started paying off the balance to this in May 2013. We are a mere £200 away from our final closing bill and its all paid! :goodvibes

We have booked through a Scottish travel company "Barrhead Travel" who insist they specialize in Disney holidays. We are staying on site at CBR and flying with Thomas Cook so I presume it's all booked via them and my travel company act as a middle man?

Anyway its getting close to my 180 days (only 4 weeks away by my math) and I still don't have my 12 digit Disney number. Barrhead gave me a number to call Disney and when I did they said they had nothing in the system for my booking and to contact my travel agent, I asked if this was because I had an outstanding balance (i.e the holiday was not paid for in full) and the Disney operator said that this won't be a problem.

I went back to Barrhead with this information a week ago and they have only gotten back to me saying that there was some sort of delay /computer error in not processing my details, very sorry and all that and they will get on it and I should have something by this coming Tuesday, the thing is I specified a specific area of CBR but if I have been missed then will I just be lumped anywhere? If that's the case I'm going to turn into begbie from trainspotting and seriously rip the travel agents apart!!!

Am I getting stressed for no reason or should I be concerned? :scared1:

We booked our last trip through Thomas Cook and they could not supply us with that reference number prior to our holiday. Caused as a bit of an issue as we couldn't do the 180+10 ADR bookings or make any room requests. I also phoned Disney direct and they didn't have a record of our booking either, saying Thomas Cook have a block allocation of rooms but they don't provide Disney with traveller details until the week before the trip. This has put me off booking our next trip via a TA, so we'll be trying diy instead.

Deep breath

Firstly, Barrhead are a very reputable agent. I didn't know they were exclusively Scottish but being North of the border myself that may explain why, lol. I think the fact that they have owned an error on their part and apologised really goes a long way to start as so many agents seem clueless or absolve themselves of blame so that's a plus for them in my books.

Struggling with the 12 digit number is not unique to your TA. Even some people who booked direct with WDTC have had a bit of a struggle to get that number. I would have to look up the thread for you as I have no personal experience of getting this being booked through a third party agent.

Ok, next issue is your room request. Do not panic. The room assigners at the resort do not get the room assignment list until a week or so before you check in. You can have the request added to your reservation at any time and if you are unhappy at check in you can just ask them nicely if they can move you. never had an issue with this on any of our trips and the CM's are so accommodating as best they can be.

Good luck getting the ref number. We have booked with Thomas Cook for October and been told that it's too early for the ref number but they were going to chase up the dis rep for it.

We have always booked with a TA but our first time staying on site, so that part is all new to us.

I will chase them again once i've paid off the balance in July. I just wanna get some FP's in for Princess meet and greets :goodvibes

Tomorrow is d day, so I better get some good news or somebody will be getting it :furious:

I will let you know how I get in.

Fingers Crossed :(

Have now been told Thursday and that Thomas cook are chasing up Disney!!!! Think I'll be phone disney myself later today.

Sorry you're having so much trouble with it. Phoning Disney may not be a bad idea

However thinking back to another recent post this week, someone else said their reference suddenly worked on MDE after some time of trying and I am wondering if the travel agents are just not passing the booking information through to WDTC until a certain amount of time before departure. Good luck and let us know how you get along.

I booked direct with Disney but that doesn't get you your 12 digit number, you still get the UK booking ref! However, after about a week or so it just appeared on MDE and I was good to go. Have booked all my ADRs and FP Plus no problems. Have a look at your MDE.

As an update i've booked a package with Thomas Cook, booked in January and travelling in October 14. I kept asking for the disney ref number. TC asked their Disney rep who advised (only yesterday) to use the TC booking ref which is 8 digits.... I wasn't convinced but when I tried it, it worked :cool1: then once my reservation was linked, a 12 digit ref appeared in the reservation details section. So if I were you guys just keep trying your Travel agent booking ref, we were just 7 months out when I tried it. Good Luck! :thumbsup2

Phoned Disney and they gave me my 12 digit number :cool1::cheer2::cool1:

So Phew!! I still have 2 weeks before I can book my ADR's but it's reassuring to know I have it.

Quick question, can I customise our "Magic Bands" ?

I'll go for a search on here in the mean time to try and find the answer!!

Feeling happy now pixiedust::):goodvibes

I've found the answer and done our magic bands, although I thought you were able to put your favourite disney character on it?

That's great news!!

No, you just choose a color and the text you want on for your name/ID. You can purchase sliders and little gems to add to them at the parks as optional extras if you want to.
