Just back from our vacation.

Day 1 - we arrived late in the evening and stayed at the Marriott Orlando World Center. It was massive. It was nice enough but we couldn't wait to get to WDW. For everyone who is upset about the 6.00 valet fee for parking at WDW resorts, the valet fee here was $14.

Days 2- 11- We stayed at the Yacht Club. Having stayed there numerous times, we basically knew what to expect. Unfortunately, the front desk person who helped us was rude and seemed very bothered by having to do his job. On the way over to the Yacht Club, we were singing Disney songs, and cheering. Within just a few short minutes of arriving at our destination, this person managed to just knock the wind right out of our sails. Months of anticipation and excitement were squashed pretty quickly. My dh and I put the check in experience behind us, and went on to enjoy our vacation, along with our son, but I couldn't help but feel badly about the way we were treated.

Crowds- The parks were not crowded at all. We saw many attractions numerous times and did not do as many early openings as usual because most of the waiting time was minimal.

Storm Along Bay- As always, the pool was great but did get very crowded over Labor Day weekend. There were many people at the pool who found ways to beat the system and sneak in. They went to a wrist band sytem and the crowds thinned out. We only wish they would have used the wrist bands sooner.

Restaurants-

Here is where we ate:

Breakfast- Beaches and Cream, Tubbies, Kona Cafe, Y/C Galley- All were fine

Lunch- Hurricane Hannah's and a variety of other locations in the parks

Dinner- Prime Time Cafe'- Our server was excellent but I must admit I enjoy lunch here more than dinner.

Narcoosee's - It was awesome-good service, great food, just a terrific night

Boma- We waited a very long time to be seated, even with a P/S, our server seemed to ignore us and we did not enjoy the cuisine.

NBA City- at Universal- Chosen by our son- just burgers and sandwiches

Spoodles- Great service, we enjoyed the meal so much , we returned for a second evening

Le Cellier- Excellent- great food- and wonderful service

Cape May Cafe - the food was good, though we were seated next to the family from hell, who chose not to speak but yell throughout the meal. Our son is 12 and charged as an adult and he eats like a bird so, buffets are not our best bet.

Flying Fish- the service was attentive, my dh loved his meal, my steak was tough but perhaps this is not their specialty- hence the name, "Flying Fish"

Alfredo D'Roma- contrary to popular opinion, we really enjoyed our meal- we did the price fixed dinner and our server was terrific

ESPN- for a themed restaurant the food was actually pretty good, this is a good casual evening.

We spent a 12th unplanned evening at the Hyatt, at the airport. The flight was overbooked and we took the offer of giving up our seat and receiving tickets to be used in the future, a night at the Hyatt, meals, and a first class seat the next day.

Despite the upsetting start to this trip, a good time was had by all.

sorry the trip didn't start out that great - but it sounds like the rest of the trip made up for it. glad to hear the crowds are small - we leave in 12 days!

I am so glad you put that initial experience behind you and went for the gusto..You ate at some great restaurants too, which always adds to the trip.. Thanks for posting..

Sorry that unpleasant CM took the wind out of your sails. Glad that you recovered, though, and had a wonderful trip.

Thanks for posting!
