WHEW! This is my frist chance to post here since I returned from my long awaited Dec trip!

I went to MVMCP on 12/7 and I was rather let down. I LOVED MNSSHP last year and I was hoping for that same kind of excitement, but it wasn't the same. I thought that only having three places for cookies and cocoa (two almost across the street from each other) wasn't enough and what was up with Wishes??? It was terrible that night! The park map says that Wishes can be viewed from anywhere in the park - I don't think so! The first time I saw Wishes was from Main street, a good place to see them. This time I was on the bridge between Liberty Square and... Adventureland? Is that right? I can't figure out what to call it. Anywho, the castle was to our left and the fireworks were WAY behind the castle and never cleared the trees! I wasn't the only person surprised by where the fireworks were going off. I don't see how people on Main Street could have seen them, they weren't high enough. Anyone else have the same observation? Was it just me?

I would like to do MNSSHP again next year and I think I will try MVMCP again some day; maybe I will like it better then.

That is too bad, but I share your sentiments on MVMCP. While each year I tend to enjoy MNSSHP more and more, this was the first time I've gone to MVMCP in 5 years and it was truley a let down for us. Glad we did it again, but absolutely see no need to do it again. Actually we visit WDW about 5 times a year and decided to do December again after not going during this month in 5 years. We also will not visit in December again. That was enough for us. We love going in January, early May and late October. Then we like to throw a few ad hoc trips in. Sometime July and September. But December has been struck off of our list. There was absolutley no magic for us at MVMCP on 12/12. JMHO!

I was there on 12/7. We watched Wishes from the Rose Garden path off Main Street (right of castle). They seemed to be the same as usual. The thing I was disappointed about was no Tinkerbell or Rudolph (usually during MVMCP Rudolph comes down).

We got cookies and hot chocolate from the Plaza around 8:45, there was no line.

I hate to say that I was dissapointed as well. It seemed that they cut back too much this year.

I was there on 12/7 a Tuesday night and I must say with the crowd, Wishes being not what it usually is, Long photo lines, long ride lines, no buttons, still not getting my picture and several other problems we will nto be attending the christmas party again. By Disney allowing so many people in for the party it killed any magic...this was suppose to be a special ticket event but the mass of people kept it from being special...we went in 2003 and it was great same tuesday as this year....We will not attend again....other than that and trying to get a spot for spectro the trip was great....But I feel I deserve a refund for the party due to the fact I havent got my pictures, was not able to see any chritmas show, only got on 3 rides, wishes was poor thank god the parade was good but waited in a spot for almost 2 hours for that....

Well, I am glad to know it was not just me. This was my first time at MVMCP and I came away thinking "I dropped $160 for THIS?" I was so dismayed at the huge throng of people after I hyped it all up to my family about how great it was going to be and no crowds and they only sell so many tickets etc. and then we walked in and it was jam-packed. I felt very let-down. We never got our picture, there were long lines even after 11 p.m. Lines for cookies and cocoa and ended up buying cocoa; just in general not at all how I pictured it.

I was our first time for MVMCP as well. The first thing that DH said when we entered the park, was " I thought you said that it would not be crowded." We could not move for people. We did get our pictures made and we have received them. However, we did not ride any rides. We only saw Mickey's Twas the Night before Christmas, which I will say was good...My DD loved every minute of it. We never even made it to Fantasyland because we tried to go and get a good location for the parade. Then the parade was delayed for almost an hour. By the time it actually rolled DD had fallen asleep. The parade was good, but she never even saw any characters except for one show. We may attempt it again, but definitely when DD is older. It was too hard for her to stay awake and enjoy the activity. We also never got any cookies or cocoa, the lines were entirely too long.

sorry you were disappointed
It is a nice event but I don't think the crowds are for everyone

We've been to MVMCP since 2001 on the same Tuesday night. I really didn't feel that this years crowd was all that bad. Maybe it was just the way we worked the park that night. Started in Adventureland and worked our way around, saving Fantasyland till last. By the time we did Fantasyland, everything was a walk on.

I was disappointed in Wishes, but I figured it was just our viewing spot. We were on the bridge from Liberty Square to Adventureland too! We usually watch from the bridge to Tomorrowland--the best place IMHO! :D

Does anyone have any guesses on how many were in attendance this year?

I did feel that the week we were there was generally more crowded than in past years!

Interesting. I've never been to WDW in December, but we are planning a visit for December 2005 and I was going to plan it around MVMCP. I too have been to MNSSHP and loved it, but it wasn't crowded. To many people would definitely put a damper on it.

I'm sorry it was a let down for you. Thanks for the review, because we may want to rethink our plans a bit.

We did MVMCP Dec 7 and 9 and I must say, I was disappointed too. We have never been to MVMCP before and I'm glad we did it, but I'm not sure we will ever do it again. The parade was cool- but people were staking out a place at 6:45 all across the park on both nights. To get on front, which my kids think they must, you waste a lot of time. Wishes did not have Tink flying Tues the 7th, but she did fly the 9th. Wishes was neat with the special ending, but still.... Crowds were much much larger than I expected. THe Christmas shows were all packed! The crowds during the day were low for rides, so we just wanted to do the Christmas stuff. Lines for the pictures were ridiculous very early- didn't even attempt it! Cookies and cocoa were OK- just plain sugar cookies and very hot cocoa! Overall, it was neat to do once. But, like you all, I was very let down and disappointed for the money we paid! princess:

This was my first time at MVMCP, too, and we went on the 7th. I also was a bit surprised at the crowds, as I had thought it was going to be less. But, I followed the advice of TourGuide Mike, and have to say it really helped. We were able to get a lot in during that time, and were able to do most of what we wanted to. But I don't think I will go again. I enjoyed it the one time, but I think that was enough for awhile. Maybe we'll try MNSSHP???

Hmmmmm, we were there on 12/7 as well and had a great time. :confused3

There were a lot of people but the ride lines were very short. We rode tons of stuff with waits of 5 minutes or less. My 2 year-old DD loved the Holiday Hop dance party at Ariel's Grotto. We walked right up to the counter for our cocoa and cookies at Columbia Harbour House. We forgot to get a pic or a pin. But, I just won the pin from an eBay seller today for only a couple bucks more than the park price. We got there around 4:30 or so and didn't leave until almost midnight. The parade was excellent and DD loved it. We watched it in Frontierland and were right behind a family that was sitting down so we had a perfect view. We watched Wishes from Fantasyland and thought it was an excellent display. I honestly don't know if I'd do it again, at least not anytime soon, but that's more because I want to try MNSSHP next year. :cool1:

We went to MVMCP on Tues the 14th for our first time. We had a fun time, but it sure was cold! Main St. and the shops were crowded, but once away from there, the crowds were small. We walked on all the rides we went on. We rode Big Thunder Mt 3 times without getting off.

We got out hot chocolate in Diamond Horseshoe. The lines were long, but they moved really fast. We enjoyed sitting on the porch on LTT sipping our hot chocolate. We watched wishes from the bridge between BTMRR and Pecos Bill. I don't know what to really call it . Anyway, some of the low fireworks were behind the trees, but overall, we thought it was a great spot.

When it was time for the late parade, we went back to Main St. Everyone was outside, so we enjoyed the uncrowded shops. We then found a great spot to watch the parade on the terrace at Tony's Town Square. The temperature had dropped quite a bit by then, so we headed back to VWL after the parade.

We didn't go to a park earlier that day, so we didn't use a day on our tickets. That way, the cost of the party was less than a day's park admission. We really enjoyed it and will probably go again next year .. hopefully it will be warmer!

We went on December 10 and we were all disappointed with the event. An overpriced e-ride night and not even worth it. We got there at 7:30, got in two rides and our picture in Adventureland. Not bad. Lined up for Wishes in front of the castle, waited for the castle show afterwards, accidently found hot cocoa during a bathroom run, lined up for the second parade and it was 11:15! We called it a night at that point. Never again and I have nothing to compare it to.

Pre-purchased and went to THREE MVMCP due to the high recommendations from DISboards members.

Conclusion: a big waste of money. (can I get a refund? just kidding... not really)

I felt that way about our 11/28 MVMCP experience when I first got back. But now that the pics are developed, I seem to remember it a bit more fondly. Funny how that works, isn't it. :D

We went dec.7. For three and a half hours from 4-7:30 it was okay. At 7:30 it got crazy. After experiencing gridlock in several areas, I believe their 'limited' tickets are most likely whatever the parks capacity is.
I doubt very much we'll ever go again.

We didn't make it to MVMCP, which kind of bummed me out, but after reading these posts I fell much better!

I wouldn't have ever heard the end of it if I had of gotten my sister and our elderly mother there, only to fight crowds. I would have gone if it had of been only me with my son, but I'm glad I missed it since it would have been all of us (and my mom is very much a cheapskate and would not have felt that she got her $ worth).

T&B

We attended the last night of MVMCP, December 17.
I debated over going since I had read here the MVMCP parade shows Christmas week anyway.
But I like MNSSHP so much I decided to attend MVMCP. This was my first time. DH's second year.
We did not try to ride rides. We wanted more to enjoy the surroundings and special attractions just for the party.
We did ride Buzz twice during the second parade. It was walk on then.
MVMCP was nice. But does not beat out the Halloween party.
If I missed MVMCP next year I would not be too disappointed.
