12/6/08 Eastern ~ ***CURRENT ROSTER pg 68, post # 1007!

Thanks for being #1200.AARGH pirate: However, you are even leaving earlier than our Hawaiian Contingency! 22 Days------I am jealous :worship: Are you the First Group to get down to Disney World? Let's see if anyone else has less than 22 days before leaving for WDW and the Cruise........ Say HI to Sorcerer Mickey for me! He is my favorite. My favorite villain is Madam Mim, though!!!!!!
Have a magical day. :wizard:(The Wizard picture is really Merlin from Sword in the Stone) Lady Disney princess: :cheer2:

DisneyLady, regarding the bag inside a bag. I have done that trick tons of times. We currently live in Juneau which has shopping opportunities but before that we lived in Sitka a small town on an island in Alaska that had zero shopping. Whenever we got the chance to "get off the rock" we would always pack a bag in a bag in order to maximize our shopping!

We are a family of four now so we can actually check four bags but on the way down we will check three and the viola pixiedust: like magic we will have four on the way home.

BTW we are traveling with Alaskanmommy and her family so we are down to 22 days too!!

Send me some pixie dust!! I have pnemonia and am hoping and praying that it will be completely out of my system by the time we leave....which will be 30 days tommorow!!!

What a bummer! Here is truck loads of pixie dust that your pneumonia passes quickly. pixiedust: pixiedust:

DD had pneumonia last year and she started a cough a few weeks ago. We took her to the doctor and they gave her some meds for asthma prevention. It has done the trick. Cough gone!

We wish the same for you.:goodvibes

Rene: Thanks for the info. That is what I am going to do. Will have to pay $15 for 1 bag going down and $40 coming back. Oh, well, at least it will be filled with goodies from DCL and WDW and hopefully lots of good pins from trading. I was on Pin Pics and looked up DCL pins and made a wish list.....
Now, just have to finish up the Hidden Mickey List to send to Joy!
Well, gang, that is 2 families for 22 days! Anyone else going sooner? Have a magical day. Lady Disneyprincess: :cheer2:

BOO! I wish I was leaving in 22 days! We are leaving in 27 days! I guess that will have to be soon enough! :yay:

I guess I am starting the pin trading thing too. One of my best friends is in the world now and he has started me a pin collection! UGH! But I guess since I am started I have to keep going! :cool1:

We changed our transportation too. We were using FL Tours and because of our luggage problem on the return we have changed. We are using Happy Limo one way from WL to the Port then we are renting a car from Hertz at the Port and will return it to MCO that evening. It is actually saving us a bit of money. I just hope it does not take too long getting the rental car! Downtown Disney will be waiting on me and so will lunch at T-Rex! :woohoo:

Just curious. We booked a CAT 12 GTY and are still waiting for a room assignment. Any info would be great. TIA!

Usually Disney gives room assignments 30 days out -- so it should be by friday.

We are also category 12 guarantee for this cruise -- on our last cruise, also on the Magic, we were upgraded to category 10, 30 days out -- and another complimentary upgrade to category 9 at checkin! We weren't the only ones to be upgraded at checkin, two in our cruise critic group were upgraded to category 5.

Whatever cabin we are assigned -- is going to be great -- after all, is it even possible not to have a fabulous time on a Disney cruise? princess:

I need a vacation so badly right now!!!!!

Just ordered our Disney Rewards card so we can apply it to our shipboard account... wheeeeeee... that's going to buy alot of Bahama Mamas!

I also wanted to mention -- this is a cheap thrill -- if you haven't checked it out, buy the PassPorter e-book "Cruise Clues"... it's awesome! I got it for our last cruise and I just re-downloaded it again for this one. Lots of good concise info. It's only about $5 so not too much against the vacation budget.

Here is a tip I just read -- BRILLIANT!!!

Save a cardboard drink tray from a fast food place and bring it with you...use it to carry multiple drinks back from the beverage station. I can't tell you how many times I've had to juggle 4 drinks!

I normally just use my inspector gadget arm! LOL! :rotfl:
This is a good idea!

29--29--29--29--29 days. I just HAD to write it several times to make sure it was real!!!!!!
About the cabin assignments. I talked to my TA at AAA today. She called Disney and the person PROMISED her that my Cabin Number would be on the reservation screen :surfweb: TOMORROW (really TODAY since it is 1:51 a.m. EST right now.
She also said that I would not receive my packet until 10 days before the cruise! That is not acceptable! I want it NOW!!! Do I sound like a little kid who keeps asking "Are we there yet????? Has anyone ever gotten their packet earlier than that? All you Castaway Club members....does the same hold true for you?
I wanted to see the brochure before ordering anything for the stateroom. I wonder how late orders for that can be taken. Anyone know? I have seen a copy of the brochure but that is not like seeing it in person!
Have a Magical :wizard: Day! LD
P.S. I want to send my pixie dust to our friend who has pneumonia. I will be thinking of you and sending Tinker Bell (she has a voice now) to tell you to get better before the cruise! Maybe one of you who is going to WDW before the cruise could pick up some for you. It is all the little MM Icon glitter that is on the ground when going into the Magic Kingdom. I always pick some up and when someone I know gets sick I put a piece of it on a Gel Well card. It is one of the best "freebies" from WDW that I know!pixiedust:

Just wanted to give you a little insight on this. The agent at DCL would not have promised that your cabin was assigned by today. This is handled by Inventory Control, not the agents on the floor and it is not automatic.

Disney's standard line and only "promise" that they make is that you will get your documents 7-10 days prior to the cruise. Most people get their documents earlier than this.

Finally, there will not be anything in the documents about stateroom gifts. You will find there isn't much in your documents (especially if you fill out your documents online). This was in the package that you should have received about 5 months out. You can order them up until 3 days prior to the cruise.

Your documents will have a booklet with a generally summary of your reservation, ticket for onboard check in, cruise contract and payment authorization (if you didn't do the online check in) and luggage tags. I believe there will also be an insurance pamphlet if you purchased insurance with your package. If you did do the online check in, your cruise contract will not be in the booklet, there will just be one page that says "cruise contract".
