12/6/08 Eastern ~ ***CURRENT ROSTER pg 68, post # 1007!

Oh, yes, I missed two of my "want to meet" people. First, is Jennifer Marx (she is a fellow Michigander) and Deb Wills is the second person. I saw the video of her getting to push the button for the Magic horn. She was so excited! I probably would have fainted if that had happened to me. What a thrill.
In two months I will hear it for myself. D Lady

I've met both Jennifer and Deb, both are very nice people. And sounding the Mickey horn is something I'll never forget. I got a picture in my office to look at all the time and remember!

We're planning to attend the DISUnplugged event at Mousefest and maybe the Mega Mouse Meet. We go home the next morning so we'll have to see.

Gina - you may want to ask on the main cruise board... I think the port checkin is kinda new.. it wasn't available the last time we cruised so I have no experience there.

The 11/6 Wonder cruisers are getting their cabin assignments and upgrades!!! That means in one month, we should be getting ours -- WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

OMG you guys, I am such a SAP!!! I'm watching YouTube clips of the ship's horn... there's the one of the Magic and Wonder both leaving Nassau last year at the same time, and then it links to one of a horn battle between Carnival, some other ship and then the DCL horn... and I'm totally welling up with tears. I LOVE THE SOUND OF THAT HORN!!!!

I thought they made it available to anyone, regardless of Disney transport or not...

You don't check your luggage outside of the terminal anymore, it is done onboard and you also receive your boarding passes. It is only available with Disney transfers.

I just called DCL to verify. To check luggage at the Port you do have to be using DCL transportation. :headache: Dangit! Now I have to change plans! UGH!

Count me IN for dressing up for Pirates Nightpirate: . I am trying to get DH and DS (Basil Fox) to dress up, too! I have been collecting bits and bobs from the Salvation Army, Pottery Barn, Goodwill and any other place something jumps in my face. Finished up everything today so I am good to go!!!!!!!!
I am also set for Formal night and Cruise Tropical night! Now, if I could just find a bathing suit and something to put over it (think sarong). I have been reading Smart Packing for Today's Traveler by Susan Foster and she says that one does not go around with just a bathing suit when going other places on board such as lunch, etc. She has a WHOLE chapter about Cruise packing with pictures, too. She even lays out a 7 day clothing suggestion list for a cruise.
As to the Horns, BF (Basil Fox) played the Deb Wills one and the double Magic and Wonder horns and I, too, welled up! Doesn't Disney have the COOLEST horn ever? Not just a run of the mill one. ALL other Cruise Ships KNOW when Disney comes calling!!!!!!!
60 Days today and counting............Disney Lady
P. S. Basil Fox get cracking on your pirate outfit.......Mompirate:

Joy,
I am positive the kids will be dressed for pirate night. I am not sure about DH, he is more worried about Pirate Night than Formal Night and honestly the man doesn't even own a tie. I am pretty sure we will both have something pirate like on. Maybe just a sash, bandana or something.
pirate: aaargh!

just the kids for our family. Dh and I will wear the bandanas provided in the restaurant.

I do not think Pirate night will be dress up night for us! pirate: We are going to try and change our Palo ressie to that night from Saturday night so definitely not if we get it changed. Its fun and all... just not us! But I will be sure to enjoy all of you dressed up! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

My husband and I have shirts from our last cruise (the ruffly ones) but the kids have outgrown theirs so I have to get new stuff and I can't decide if I want to try to sew something (I don't sew well) or go buy a halloween costume... (not pleased with the quality of anything I've seen yet).

We won't be dressed up either other then my DH and son wearing Pirate's of the Caribbean t-shirts and the bandana's they give out at dinner.

I really want to keep my packing to a minimum.

OMG! I cant believe we are under 2 months now! I AM SSSSSSSSOOOOOOOO excited!!
:dance3:  :cool1: :dance3:
I am just SO ready to go to the world and on a cruise! WOO HOO!!:cheer2:

When we were trying to decide for Pirate Night, we thought about it for weeks, then, at the very last minute, threw in whatever ratty shirts the boys had, and we went for black pants and anything that looked even remotely Gypsy-ish (thank goodness for the 60's!) (YES, I can remember the 60's!!):hippie: Then a few bandanas, a couple of eyepatches, a bit of ripping on the ratty shirts, and we were able to come up with decent outfits! Yo-ho-ho! (The guys at the port wouldn't let on our bottle of rum!! (boo-hoo!)

If work wasn't so busy I might find time for a Pirate outfit. Yes I hope to dress up for pirate night and in some island wear for Parrot Cay. Reminds me to try on my Tux again.

Are there any firm plans for specific meet ups on board or before hand thus far?
