12/6/08 Eastern ~ ***CURRENT ROSTER pg 68, post # 1007!

Hello fellow cruisers!! WOW, some of you have been posting for awhile. I am so impressed. We booked our cruise back in March, and my kids have requested that we never ever tell them so far in advance. The anticipation is really killing us! :hyper: Anyway, this is our first Disney cruise and we couldn't be happier. DH and I went on a Carnival Western Caribbean cruise for our honeymoon. We are taking our two boys, along with my sister Lisa, her DH Scott, and her boys: Josh (5) and Brady (3). Also my mom, little brother Ryan (18) and sister Kacee (20). Big group!! :grouphug: I have been quite obsessed with trying to plan every little detail, but am finding it really difficult to decide when to go to Palo for dinner. I'm so torn. I've read lots of advice from people, but I'm still undecided. I'm going to need Disney to throw in an extra night... BONUS! :goodvibes As for excursions, we're thinking of setting up parasailing and the zipline in St. Maarten (through outside companies), the Buck Island Catamaran Sail & Snorkel in St Thomas, and the Castaway Cay Getaway Package. Also, after the cruise is over... we're going to WDW for 4 days and staying at the All Star Movie Resort. We're even trying out the Disney Dining plan for the first time. So, I would appreciate any advice from you lucky ones with experience with all this!! Oh, has anyone heard about something called the Surial Bath offered at the Spa? I'm intrigued and am thinking of setting it up for DH and I! Anyway, looking forward to chatting... my family and friends are sick of talking about this with me!! :rolleyes1 THANKS!!

Okay, so remember the deal I got on our flights? (Roundtrip Sacramento to Orlando, 2 for free with Delta SuperSaver Skymiles and 2 cash for about $250 plus taxes).

Anyhow... the flight times changed AGAIN (this always happens to us on every trip and I'm used to it by now), so I call Delta to reconfirm the flight change and while I've got him on the phone, I notice that our layover is now 2 hours long, and I asked if there was anything with a shorter layover.

He finds one that leaves an hour earlier so we only have an hour layover. Switches everything over, all cool, and I ask him about the seat assignments since we're on 2 separate itineraries... I need to make sure we're seated near each other if possible. He said they were together and rattled off SINGLE DIGIT seat numbers... you know what that means...

I didn't say anything at the time but I just logged on and it looks like we're in FIRST CLASS on our 1st leg and Business Class on our 2nd leg. Is this possible? I'm almost certain they'll either figure it out or bump us (December is a long ways away!) but I'm just basking in the possibility that we'll fly first class on the way to Orlando. I s'pose it's too much to ask that they won't change the flights again and nobody else will take a 2nd glance at these seat assignments.

I feel sorry for this poor agent, who I'm sure didn't quite know what he was doing. Delta can't afford to have its agents giving away First Class seats to passengers purchasing seats using air miles and Super Saver ones at that! How crazy would it be to have 4 first class seats for under $600?

Smile nod and insist on the arrangements you were promised!
;)
Delta can certainly afford it!!!
:woohoo:

Bubba, did the airline email you a confirmation? You should be able to set up an acct on their website and check through there as they should show you your seat assignments. If it says what you have noted, then save it or print it to show when you arrive at the airport.

Oh yea, I've got printed confirms from their website (figured I'd better print it out for posterity!)... I just don't think they will think they owe me that seat assignment since I didn't pay for first class seats... they only owe me a coach seat, and alot of seat shuffling could occur between now and December!

yeah but we'll all keep our fingers crossed for you. :thumbsup2

How many of you are staying at disney resort prior to cruise? I'm coming in the day before the cruise (Fri) and staying at the carribean beach resort and was wondering.....any of you buying tickets for Mickeys very merry Christmas party in the park?? I was hoping to keep my kids at the pool during the day and going to the park at night for this event (gotta pay Xtra for this) I'm hoping it wont be too much for my girls (7,9) the night before cruise. Thought it would be special. Has anyone ever been to the very merry xmas event??

We'll be at OKW three nights prior. We've been to MVMCP in the past but not planning to do it this time. We plan to get to see Candlelight Processional this time.

If you hang out during the day and rest up for the party, I don't think it will be bad. If you are taking DCL transfers, you won't be leaving until closer to noon so they can sleep in some.

:wave2: Hi
We are coming in the day before and will be staying at the Boardwalk. We will be going to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. We've gone to that a couple of times and it is alot of fun. The park actually closes and the only people in are the ones who have the tickets for the Christmas Party. There are free cookies and hot chocolate, a free photo, the parade, many rides will be open, characters will be there and of course---the fireworks. The best part is the Christmas music playing throughout and it snows on Main Street. All the decorations. What a way to get in the Christmas spirit.....Disney Style.:santa: You and your family are going to love it!!!!

Take care...Monika:flower3:

We are going to be at the Port Orleans Riverside Resort for the night of the 4th and the 5th, I believe. Thankfully, I have a big sister who knows what she is doing. On the down side, I'm totally clueless about where, what, when, and how. What's the candlelight thing? That sounded interesting.

Fun! We will be doing 8 days at POP with Reneeaiko and her fam!! It's our first time at POP so I hope it will work out ok. We're also doing the MVMCP but we're going to go on 12/2. It sure sounds like a good time. Anybody else going to MVMCP opn 12/2?? We'll be sure to wear our LGMH!!:cheer2:

We have done the MVMCP twice and it was great but we are bypassing WDW completely this time (shudder) and going to try Universal for the 1st time since our kids are branching out from Disney...

Though if there is anything Wall-E there related, I might change my mind. I've fallen in love with that little robot :)

Actually seeing that this was a changed to your itinerary, what the agent did is very common. Seeing that this is an inconvenience to you, they made it up to you by upgrading your seats. This also allows them to sell more coach seats and in the end potentially make more money as well as make a customer happy.

Congrats on the upgrades!!

I would like to know which night is which in the dining rooms? I assume that St. Maarten day will still be Pirate night but which nights are formal, semi-formal and so on?

I wouldn't be too worried about formal, casual, or even semi-casual. They do have recommendatiosn on what to wear, but you don't have to wear that. You can wear whatever you want, with the exeception of Palo.

Hi All Have'nt posted in a bit. We are flying in the day prior and staying near the port. Thankfully our flights have'nt changed yet! Keeping fingers crossed! We are going to MVMCP on the 13th. We don't fly back out til the 15th. We're going to do that and then do DTD and maybe universal for a day. We were originally going to do a car service, but have since decided to just rent a car. Does anyone know if the shops are close enough to walk to when in the ports? Not sure if we're going to do any excursions or not. We like poking around in shops. Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th! :) Deb

We are going to spend Friday night at SSR. We are still undecided on MVMCP we have attended this in the past and had a great time but I would really like to see the Candlelight Progression, besides Epcot is DH favorite park.

Aloha,
We are leaving on a red eye flight Dec 3 and arriving 6:00am the next morning. It's a non stop flight Yea!
Right now we are staying at SSR, but trying to get WL,AK,or BW.
We too are leaving Dec 15 and staying at YBC.
We are also doing MVMCP on Dec 4. Man the price sure went up from last year. Anyone doing the Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian on Dec 4?.Just got back from the Mexican Riviera. Already having withdrawls. Can't wait for this cruise to come up.

aloha,
hawaiian mickey

What this "Candlelight Progression" that a few of you spoke of??:confused3

Linda

Taken from WDWInfo.com: "Held every year at Epcot, the Candlelight Processional is not to be missed. A mass choir, joined by a 50-piece live orchestra and a celebrity narrator, tell the story of Christmas in words and music, in a very moving performance. Performances are held at the America Gardens Theatre.

Performances take place each evening at 5:00pm, 6:45pm and 8:15pm."

We were going to go but decided against it this time. We haven't seen it before but we weren't that excited about the performers when we will be at WDW. Holiday-wise we are planning to do the MVMCP, go resort-hopping, and the Osborne Family Lights. I have read rave reviews of the Candlelight Processional.

We are going to Candlelight Processional but I don't think we'll do the package. We'll be there December 3 and are staying at OKW before the cruise. Air Tran changed our return flight (which I was hoping would happen) so I requested that they change the date to December 14 so we'll stay Saturday night after the cruise :yay: We'll stay the last night at BWV :woohoo:
