12/6/08 Eastern ~ ***CURRENT ROSTER pg 68, post # 1007!

Hi all!
We will be on the December 6th cruise! It will be me, my husband and our just turned 3 year old (November 23rd) who will maybe hopefully be potty trained by then so he can use the kids club. (I was totally sure he would be and now I'm like....well....hopefully!!!!)

We'll also be going with my mom and grandma. So it's a big family trip.

We're booked in Category 11, which is a little bit of a bummer because I like LUXURY!!!! My husband and I took a Royal Caribbean cruise last year and had a suite. But the Disney cruises are so much more expensive, so we decided not to break the bank. This is our first Disney cruise, we are big Disney lovers and have turned our son into an addict already. Eeeeek.

Also, we are stuck in late seating. Anyone want to switch???? :worship:

See you there!
Roxanne

Hi - and Bye! We have just pushed our cruise back to 2009 - because DS and DDIL can go with us then! Hope you all have a blast!!

Hi everyone... bit a bit MIA lately, sorry. Have been busy building my website and blog and stuff... www.studio-je.com (not finished yet) and http://blog.studio-je.com with my recent work. It has been a blast to get into this business...

On the flipside, DH quit his job and will be unemployed at the end of the month... waiting on a chance to interview for a new store opening here at the end of June -- so hopefully he'll only be unemployed for a month. I am really hopeful, with the amount of experience that he has, that he would be an ideal candidate... but the stress is killing me! We are already adjusting our plans for December to drop the pre-cruise WDW stay (switching to 2 days at Universal, pre-cruise, since we promised the kids we'd go there). And flight costs?? UGH UGH UGH! but I will make it onto the ship come heck or high water.... Some prayers, if you are the praying type, would be greatly appreciated for my DH. He's a hard and trustworthy worker, who was just not cut out for a sales environment....

How is everyone else?

 Joy - Prayers coming your way from Missouri! That must be very stressful but just keeping holding out hope that when God closes one door he opens another. :)

Nothing too much is going on here. We are finally getting some spring weather for which I am very thankful as are the kids. I have felt cooped up for far too long. I am starting to plan for DS's 6th birthday party that we are having next month and I really need to get busy. I will be out of town for a work training thing the last week of April so I know it is going to sneek up on me. I am not ready for the colder weather yet but I kind of wish December would sneek up on me a little faster. ;)

bubbasmom,

Hope you and yours are doing ok. :goodvibes

I have been playing around again in paintshop  and made a different pic for my sig for our little group. Feel free to use it, anyone who would like to. pirate:

We have just booked for this Cruise. Me, my sister and her husband and my two sons, 7 & 12. We have never been on a cruise before and are a little unsure of whether or not cruising will be for us, but we are willing to give it a good try!:yay:
My sister and her husband will be flying in from the East Coast of Canada, and I will be flying in from the West Coast and hoping for some warm, sunny weather before we face winter here.
Looking forward to "meeting" fellow passengers before we get on the ship. December will come faster than we know!

Welcome joeymac! My fam and I are also first-time cruisers!! We have never really thought of cruising before a friend mentioned this and we said "why not?" We are really excited now that we booked and can't wait! I have read such good things about the Disney cruises so we are ending our WDW trip with this cruise!! Wait a minute, maybe it's the other way around, we booked the cruise and added 8 days at WDW! Either way it should be fun!! :cheer2:

Hi everyone, I am the sister of Joeymac, my husband and I will be traveling with her family and as she said this is a first cruise for all of us!

We are cat11 as well, and late seating too. You will not be the only one with sleeping children through dinner I am sure!!:rolleyes2 :rolleyes2

Can't figure out how to add a second quote, but HiddenMickeys I grabbed your image for my sig, thanks, looks great.

Becka, I'll go check out your blog after I'm done here.

Great to "meet" everyone, I'm working on adding one more to the cruise, but don't tell my sister

Just wanted to add my two cents regarding late seating dinner and kids falling asleep at the table.
I went on the magic in 2007 and had late seating...The first night of cruise my girls fell asleep at the table so basically we had to turn in for the night. Everyday after that night after a day in the clubs and pool I would go back to my room and we would all take 1 hr-1 1/2 hr nap then shower and go to dinner. They would have a ball at the clubs at night and Erik and myself would have drinks, dance, go to the adult pool or keep the kids out of the pool at night and enjoy time w/ them w/out the crumpy need to sleep attitude from any of us. It's only a week (the vacation) We got the most out of it and the kids were happy cruisers :)

Howdy once again

Well looks like we might add my oldest daughter (21) to our cruise.

Our group keeps getting bigger and bigger.

So now we will have hubby and myself, 5 of our kids (8, 9. 13, 19, 21, one girlfriend and a mother in law)

HOLY MOLEY!!

That's wonderful. :yay: My daughter will be 18 then....it's nice to see kids close in age.
Monika:)

:) Very nice to see that there will be some older kids in the crowd. My 2 older dd's 20 and 18 are really looking forward to this cruise. As is my youngest dd 13. Welcome to joeymac, poro907, and roxannex!

It is nice to see. DD will be 16 then and DS 13, so it's nice to see that some from the dis in their age range will be aboard.

Hi everyone and welcome to the new people!

I will try to update the website in a couple days. I am, as usual, horrendously busy. I have finally launched my photography website - www.studio-je.com if you want to take a peek... I am busy with sessions on weekends, working during the week...

My DH quit his job and his last day is tomorrow. There is a new grocery store opening in town in 2 months and he has his app in there (most of his experience is in grocery). We figure it would be better to wait a few weeks to see if he can get interviewed there, rather than interview right away for a job that is not his first choice.

HOWEVER, I do not do "poor" well, and it is a bit of a strain to be on my salary alone right now. I am paid very well to do what I do and I have 2 side businesses too... but our expenses are heinous, and our options are limited due to the current market conditions (job, home and stock!) So if you have any spare pixie dust, could you send it our way... pray that we hear back soon, that he gets an interview and is offered a position. Otherwise, I fear that we might have to cancel our December trip :( Very sad indeed.

Well, if it helps I'll be sure to send buckets full of pixie dust your way. I sure all works out for you...keep us posted. :grouphug:

Joy, here's some pixie dust! pixiedust: I will be thinking positive for you guys and here's hoping for some "magic" to happen in your lives!! :tink:
I understand the pressure, with the way everything is right now: economy, energy prices, home prices, etc. It's a pretty scary time. My hubby's boat company he is working for is barely making it and he's having a really hard time selling boats. People just aren't spending their money on frivolity right now, there's just too much uncertainty with the current economic situation. If we can make it through this we can make it through anything!! At least people will always need groceries. :goodvibes Gook luck to your DH!! :cheer2:

Thanks for the pixie dust! It worked! DH got a phone call this afternoon, had a quick phone interview, and has an in-person interview on Tuesday! Wooohooo... I'm feeling very good about this! :)

That is great news, I'll be sending well wishes your way in hopes that he gets the job. :goodvibes
