12/6/07...Anyone with us?

You know kids, I was noodling around with the idea of town car/limo/van transport from WDW to Port C....but I remembered the shuttle launch (which is still scheduled for our sail date 4:30PM) and I'm thinking maybe we should do DCL bus....because if there are traffic issues we know we'll still get on the boat!

Wadda ya think?

I suppose we don't have to worry about it for a while yet.
Here's the link to the launch info.

The calendar for December is up on the Disney site...but they haven't updated the EMH (extra magic hours) dates for December yet.

Oh, and I forgot to mention

SIX MONTHS TILL SURF N TURF!
:cheer2: :grouphug: :boat: party: :drinking1 ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

We even hit the Disney discount store! Hubby wasn't thrilled with the pirates watch - so I may give that to a gal at work. I told him he could wear it for Pirates night - poor guy looked at me like I was nuts. "I'm not going to dress up". But I think I need to show him some photos and some DIS'ers posts... that will get him more excited about it.

I was just re-reading this thread and had to laugh at this post. On the night we celebrated my dear brother-in-law's birthday Peg mentioned giving this watch away and he said "But I'm supposed to wear that on the cruise!" :lmao: Then he said she could give it away afterwards!

Almost 9AM, time to see if Peg is awake.....we have a phone call to make!

Well, Janice is making the ressie for Le Cellier for 12 which is the max on Monday. We just got off the phone with them. We've also booked a couple of other dinner's with back up plans - if anyone else in the group is curious.

I'm putting it all down in Microsoft Outlook and just have to figure out how to export it so others can share/read,etc.

I'll work on that on Monday when I get back to work.

In the meantime I've got a great packing list (tips) if anyone wants a copy I can email as an attachments (can PM's go with an attachment?) If not, I'll need real email addresses, I know I have Pat's... and possibly Linda's... if not I'm sure Jackie has them.

I want to GO NOW. Oh, no, actually I'm not quite ready for that... I found this NEW digital camera (small and easy) that GOES UNDERWATER 33 feet!!!! It's under 300 bucks and since my digital is kinda out dated and uses the old memory sticks (doesn't hold enough) I'm thinking about upgrading. I'm also planning on having an IPOD by then. I only have a RIO cali and it doesn't hold enough songs.

COSTCO has a great deal on IPOD's so I think I'm going to budget for that.

Anyone else got any new cool gadgets to share knowledge??? Hmmm?:woohoo:

Ok, I have to go to the food network site and find that breakfast dish I was going to make today that I THOUGHT I had tivo'd GRRRRR - couldnt' find it.

Giada's "Everyday Italian"... I tape her on one tv and Barefoot Contessa on the other TV. Smart eh?:rolleyes1 I must get to the kitchen store and get some Le Creuest(SP?) pots... oh and a . . .

Well, what a fun day! I've spoken to Linda, Janice, Linda and Dee on the phone today (as well as my sister)!

Plans for the "Turf" are coming together and the phone call(s) for ADR's will be done on Monday....hope we get what we want, when we want it.

Pat...if you are on the internet while vacationing in Europe...FYI, we're booking LeCellier for 12 for Sunday night (the largest group they let you book).

Oh PEG, I forgot to tell you, if we end up using Plan B (Port Orleans) when I add in the tickets and dining plan, we will get a free 1/2 hour on a Sea Racer (when you book an hour)...so we can boat around the bay! We might be able to squeeze that in on Monday or Wednesday. ;)

I'd be interested in booking some sort of boating experience on Mon / Wed even if we DONT get the back up plan. What are the rates for those Mouse boats? Can you get that info to me? Anyone interested in that?

CAROLYN - WHERE R U? Are you reading these... see how much fun we are going to have? Have you decided????? :rotfl: :lmao: :cool1: :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

Sarah, tell your mom to check her e-mail....I sent Segway info.

I'll research the sea racer stuff too!

Sea Racers: $25 for 30 minutes, $35 for 45 minutes, $40 for 60 minutes.

When I did them, we rented from Ft Wilderness...I liked being able to get used to them in the big lake with less traffic, before heading over to the MK area. I also liked having lunch at Trails End! ::yes::

How long did you rent them for? And did you feel it was "long enough"?

I just cleaned my carpet - AGAIN and did laundry (spring cleaning). I've been working doing this since we got off our telecon at 11:00 a.m.!!!!

I took two days off this week to do "spring cleaning" now I'll be able to PLAY and go see art films instead! YIPEE

Sarah - ask your Mom if you can go with me on the Mice... I won't drive like Crazy - but I do like to go fast - can you handle that? You can swim right? Just in case? I just want to make sure my "precious cargo" will be ok if the engine dies, or I flip the thing. (JUST KIDDING!!!)

I forgot to mention in the last message that we decided to splurge a bit and go for a suite. Anyone know if it is worth the difference?

I don't remember if you decided to join us - are you??? That would be so great. Are we all up for a "DIS MEET" when we board at lunch???:confused3

How long did you rent them for? And did you feel it was "long enough"?

I rented for an hour...maybe 45 minutes would be OK...but an hour was good. If you go between the lake and the bay (and I never remember which is which...where's my map?) you have to go through a no wake zone and that takes a little bit of time.

No boat flipping plese....the are animals in the water....:rolleyes1

peg i told mom before i posted she said yes. i can swim with a life vest . :)

"swim with a life vest" means thats the only way she can swim. She's so funny!

We haven't decided completely on the segway tour, I will make dh sit down and discuss it with me tomorrow. Thank-goodness its going to rain tomorrow, its the only way I can get him to stay inside.

Hi Carolyn! Sure hope you decide to go!

Hey peg (or anyone else that watches the food network) - do you watch "dinner impossible"? i was watching it yesterday (linda was on the phone of course) - robert was told he had to make a "traditional caribean" menu for 20 people - he was given 4 hours - but the time started when he got on the little boat to be dropped on the "deserted island". the boat couldnt go all the way in cuz the water got too shallow - so he wasted more time getting to the starting point - then - he had to only use what was in the trunk - and anything they could catch or get from the island - there were two people there from survivor (ethan and jenna) and one woman from the island there to help him - so at some point he said to the woman something like "how do you cook that here on abaco?" (for anyone that doesnt know - or might have forgotten - abaco is where the people live that run the tours on castaway cay)

I saw the beginning of that show....but either fell asleep or flipped over to a movie. I didn't know they were on Abaco...cool! So...what did he cook?

Speaking of food...glad to see our ADR's are coming along!

TEAM...Janice booked LeCellier for Sunday night (6:40P), but they would only let us book 12 people (which I think is the correct number) and couldn't guarantee that our tables will be together. I think when Pat is back and we can get a true count (don't know if any of her friends would be joining us double-dippers) we should try and contact group dining.

Hopefully we'll know about our DVC this time next week...or however long it takes Member Services to shake down the changes that people will be making on Wednesday!

Ok, we just need to figure out when Jackie will let us out of the "Schedule" to drive around on the lake!

Jackie - what exactly did you mean about ANIMALS in the water???? You didn't mean those long slimy really old dinosaur type creatures did you???? Please tell me Disney doesn't let them get too big in that water before they remove them??? OH LORD... Don't they usually hang out on the edge of the lake anyway???? :scared: :scared1: :rolleyes1 :sad2:

Hello all, first time Disney cruiser. I hope you can answer some of my questions over the next few weeks and months. It sounds like most of you have been Disney cruisers in the past.
My wife and I have two Disney cruises booked, the first is this December 6th. and the other is in Oct. of 2008 celebrating friends of ours 50th anniversary.
We have only cruised with NCL America in the past not the best, but I've heard a lot of great things about the service on Disney ships......can't wait till December to try them out.
Well, until next time
Bob

:welcome: Welcome to the DIS, Bob! Ask away. Between all of us, I'm sure somebody will answer your questions.:)
