Just received documents for our 12/4 Western Car. cruise and it listed Grand Cayman as a port. Do you think this really means it will be open for this cruise? If you have been on a cruise that stopped in Costa Maya instead, was that noted on your cruise itinerary?

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that the port has been open for a couple of weeks now, so you should be able to make your scheduled call. Was anyone on the 11/6 Magic, and if so, did you go to GC?

The 11/6 sailing stopped and we have been "officially" told we are stopping also.......next week!!!!

It is definitely going to Grand Cayman. We are on that cruise and I called Disney to confirm it. They told me yes!! We are very happy about this since my son is looking forward to the stingrays. This is what he is looking forward to doing the most. The cruise on 11/6 went there and so is the next Western

We were on the 11/6 Western and we stopped in Grand Cayman. The downtown area didn't look too bad, but once you ventured out of downtown, there was MUCH evidence that a hurricane had done major damage. To those traveling in the next couple of months to Grand Cayman, I'd recommend staying away from the Seven Mile Beach area. Most of the hotels/condos in that area suffered CATASTROPHIC damage and there are very little services available on the beach. Some of the hotels/condos no longer exist. Rum Point Beach also was washed away, and is currently closed with no opening time yet announced. There are still HUGE mounds of extra sand on Seven Mile Beach due to the hurricane taking the sand from one side of the island and depositing it on the other side. We went to stingray city and the stingrays are just fine, though when we went the water was VERY choppy.

We were also on the 11/6 cruise and why my dh swam with the stingrays we went to 7 mile beach. We went to the public beach (Sea Grape) and it was fine. Right next door there was a empty lot with a crane and construction, and on the way to the beach there was a LOT of devastation. Roofs, cars, boats, thousands of trees down. We still had an enjoyable time at Sea Grape Beach. The water was warm and clear, great swimming! The restrooms were open and they had a bar and food available!

Or at least I believe it is. We booked Captain Marvins again but this time to do a shipwreck snorkel, I still would have loved to go to costa maya but as long as I am not in Snowy cold Massachusetts I don't care where I end up! :)

I highly recommend a swim with the stingrays... It was awesome!
