12/31 WAITLIST came thru!

Booked BWV a little over a month ago for 12/28-12/30...waitlisted for JUST about anywhere studio OR 1BR @OKW. Got the confirmation YESTERDay that we got 12/31 1BR @OKW....Yeah! Staying waitlisted for a studio to save points but will be happy if we keep the 1BR.

Didn't want to go for 3 days but it was a minimum time to take off work....4 nights makes it worth it for sure.

May regret this as we've never been during a PEAK time like this but I think NYEve in the WORLD will be fun! Anybody do anything special w/3&5 yr old? I don't think we'll leave til 11 or so NY Day as there should be little traffic on our 9 hour drive....so we should be able to stay out late.

I've told about this on these boards before, but...

...if the parks get too crowded and crazy for the 3 and 5 year olds, you may think about doing what we did when ours were younger. We got outta there around 9, went back to OKW and played games and stuff...maybe even a nap for the younger ones! Then about 11:30 we went up near the bridge at the front of the resort. Around then the fireworks shows start. Depending on clouds, etc. you can see fireworks all around. There are usually others there and you can count down together!

The parks are fun, but they do get pretty packed late in the day...see how your little ones hold up...

Thanks for the info ....I was reading how the parks would "close" & , since I am the one pushing DH for this trip (it doesn't take much), I was afraid he'd go nuts in the crowds....sounds like a great plan.

Anybody have any dining ideas for that night/ Probably can't get much at this late date.

You might be able to get something earlier in the day. It can't hurt to try. If you don't want to be out until midnight, you can see IllumiNations at 9:30 and then go back to OKW.

I was on a waitlist for BCV 1 bedroom on dec. 30th on points, i booked it on cash, not a bad rate,anyways my waitlist came thru about two weeks after i went on the waitlist and the only reason i new was i was calling MS about my jan. trip.
