12/20 or 12/21 - Onsite cheapest rate?

We'll be in Lake Buena Vista from Dec. 16th - 23rd staying in a condo. We'll be going to Disney the first part of the week.

I've got 2day/2park tickets and would like to get an onsite room for one night. I read that value season goes through Dec. 21st. We woud be interested in booking a room for either the 20th or 21st (preferably the 21st), so we could use the keys for FOTL access for the two days we have the tickets.

There will be 4 of us (DH, me, DD, and her BF), so I doubt that we even use the room. I mainly want the 4 keys for obvious reasons.

Can anybody tell me where to find the cheapest rate for one of those two nights? I even have AAA and am a government employee if that helps any.

RPR is $159.20 for 2 adults and 2 kids using AAA rate on either night.

Thanks for posting! I checked and for 4 adults it will be $199 ($20 extra each for the "kids" who are 19 and 23).

I'm struggling with making up my mind here. I can buy the express pass for $20 each ($160 for the two days) which is almost as much as the room and doesn't have the unlimited option (although the ones we had in June '05 were always just waved through without being punched).

I reallllllly hate to spend that much on a room that I may not even planning on sleeping in (DD and I might stay and let the guys go back to the condo).

Decisions, decisions, decisions... (I really liked that $159 rate!)

Book onsite...it's within walking distance and you'll be greatful just for that!!! Not sure what passes you're talking about you can buy, but the Express Passes you can buy at Universal are limited to 1 EP entrance for each ride...your room key gives you unlimited EP. btw...that $199 price for that time of year is really a good rate....

I keep reminding myself that the money I just saved on the tickets (savings came to about $180 using a link on another thread on this board) is just about enough to pay for the room...
