12/18/04 Upgrades & Boarding Time

Hello fellow DISers, we're departing on our 10d Christmas cruise this Saturday (waaaHOOOO!), and I just received word from our TA that we've been upgraded from category 10 to 9. We feel so lucky! Anybody else receive an upgrade on this cruise?

Anyway, my main question is what time are we allowed to board this Saturday? Our documents say that boarding time is 1pm, but i've heard from many of you that you can board as early as 11am. For those of you who boarded at 11am, what did your documentation tell you was the boarding time? I'd hate to show up at 11am to board only to find out that I have to sit around for the next 2 hours waiting.

Hi,
We have only been on one cruise and that was in May. My advice would be to still get there early. The line to get on the ship can get really long. The earlier you get there the better. I think ours said 1 pm. But it was before that when we were on the ship.

It will be more relaxed for you if you get there early than having to rush around.

when we cruised in October we were allowed to board the Magic right around 12:00 - there were already a ton of people waiting in line to get on board.

We got to port around 10:30 with the first crowds and took about 10 minutes to check-in. Wandered around a bit and then joined the line waiting to board - we were probably among the first 100 people to board the ship, but that's how we wanted it!
