dh's dive gear comes in at 45 pounds so that suitcase is set. The only bag I might be concerned about is the large suitcase but that won't be done probably until Friday as I have to wash some things that go in it as well as DH still needing to buy tennis shoes, etc. Might have to buy a new pair of khakis as well since he got engine grease on the one pair he has and I am not sure it will come out!

I believe a backpack is considered to be a "personal item", like a purse or brief case. I always pack my carry on and the biggest purse I have! :lmao: It is NOT big enough to be considered a carry-on on it's own, but it is big enough to hold a few things..

As long as you are less than two total items per person. I had a colleague get stopped once for having a carry-on, a computer backpack and her purse.

Of course, since we have 5 people flying, I could take 10 bags on board if I wanted...

That's what killed us. DH has two bags because of heavy dive gear. Me no excuse I just kept adding stuff so I have my regular bag and part of a 2nd bag - let 16 yr old DD use the other half but its small but 50 lbs!!!

Kids officially have one bag a piece but we have a 7th (AAAAAAAhh not happy with this!) with some christmas stuff and extra dive gear.

Ok, I was stressing our over our five (5) bags. We have four packed but one is close to the limit on weight. Another might be. Our 5th is the garment bag which won't get packed until Thursday. Our issue is SWMBO's shoes. Each of the men are taking one pair and wearing one. My wife has, I think, five pairs in the luggage plus her tennis shoes she still needs to pack AND will wear a pair. If the luggage is overweight, the shoes are first thing coming out.

WHY CAN'T YOU LADIES JUST WEAR ONE PAIR OF BLACK SHOES FOR EVERYTHING!!!!!

Hmmm....

Me - High heel sandals for dinner, crocs, crocs sandals

DD - Crocs, crocs sandals, dressy sandals

DH - Wing tips for formal/semi formal nights, loafers for casual nights, tennis shoes, sandals, swim shoes.

So who has the most shoes in this picture?? It isn't either of the ladies!!!

I have a pair of dress shoes and sneakers packed - my 16yr old DD has 7 pairs packed!!!! - she wanted more but I said she was going overboard with her shoes - Lexi pouted all day.

DH's dive bag is 49 lbs and the the second bag with dive stuff has kids snorkel gear and christmas stuff. Too much stuff.

When the kids are little it was so easy to pack light - but now that they are both teens they can't share anything especially a suitcase!! :rotfl2:

I don't know why I am having so much trouble "keeping it light". I never overpack - this summer Julia and I went to WDW for two weeks and we each only took a carry on and a small back pack  . Two days after we got back is when the liquid ban started.

I usually travel with two pairs of shoes, but for some reason I have 6 pairs lined up ready to go in a case. What is wrong with me
:headache: :rotfl:

Pool shoes to match suit #1, pool shoes to match suit #2, walking shoes, dressy shoes, workout shoes, .....

I get it... :thumbsup2

I can't believe how fast this day is going. I hope the rest of this week moves this fast so it feels like the cruise is here right away. ;)

As much as I would love for it to be Friday and to be going home and for Friday to get here as SOON as it can...I really hope that today slows down just a little. I couldn't believe it when I looked up from my pile of chemistry notes and tests and saw that it was 3:55! I feel like I've barely studied and like there's a LOT more to learn before my exam tomorrow. Sad how all that information just falls out of my head after I used it on the tests earlier this semester.

Good luck, Heidi. I'm sure you will ace them :)

Repeat after me: Tennis Shoes & Dress Shoes. Tennis Shoes & Dress Shoes. MAYBE Sandals or pool shoes for the beach. I need someone to explain to me why the black shoes that go with the black dress for formal night #1 can't be worn with the red (oh, wait, its 'burgundy', or is it 'rose') dress for formal night #2 or with the white (or is it cream, or vanilla?) dress for semi-formal. Why sandals to go with the skirt for dinner on day 2? Why not tennis shoes? Why a different pair of sandals for the plane ride down? Why can't tennis shoes be worn on the plane? Why do you need thigh-high boots just for Pirate night!!!!

I am going mad, I say.

I wonder what would happen if I **accidentally** pulled her boots and sandals out of the luggage.

NEWS REPORT 12/15: A man fell overboard from Disney Magic room 7618 with a tennis shoe sticking out of his butt... His wife said she was unpacking her suitcases when her foot accidentally slipped, kicking the man across the room, through the glass window and over the plexiglass partition. Authorities are investigating....

Bon Voyage, my buddies!

I wish yall the best sailing of the year!

LOL :rotfl2: !!

I have ONE pair of black sandals for all of my dinner outfits, no boots for pirate night (though I'd love to have some) and NO tennis shoes, just crocs. DH is the one with two different pair of shoes for dinner. One dressy and one casual. :confused3

DD15 is bringing 5 pairs plus the ones she is wearing when we fly down. Her shoes almost take up more room than her clothes.
