Judy sorry about your son. I know you are worried about him - that's your job, right? I am thinking about you.

You all probably know this already but, on Pirate Night they hand out eye patches and these pirate bandana things... We have a bunch of pirate stuff and we will decide at the moment if we feel like using it, or not.

Thanks for being understanding about the DIS Tag thing. Sorry to be a party pooper...

Hi everyone,

Talked to my son's orthopedic surgeon today. Bad News. She said he tore his ACL and lateral meniscus, his bones are very bruised, and she wants him to wear a brace on vacation. He has to have surgery and will have 6-9 months of rehab till he is back to normal. There goes his plans for track. I'm so depressed. I don't want my baby to have surgery!

Gotta go. Family is coming over to celebrate Christmas since we will be gone. Have to get ready for them.

Judy

Oh, I'm so sorry.

I worry my 14 year old might have to have knee surgery as well, but I'm in denial. He hurt his knee coming down after jumping to get a basketball in a friend's driveway last January. By Summer the knee was still acting up from time to time, so I took him to a doctor. Apparently a tendon pulled loose a bone fragment and that is what is causing him pain, especially after activity. He has to wear a support to play sports, but the doctor is hoping the scar tissue will go around the bone and the pain will go away. If not, they will have to do surgery to remove the fragment. Almost six months later he is somewhat improved, but I don't think enough. (Hard to tell with him.) So I know the surgery is probably looming, but don't have to deal with it until the doctor says so.)

All of that to say that while his surgery would be pretty minor, I hate the thought--can't imagine how spooky it must be for you! Is his activity going to be restricted while on the cruise?

Sorry to here about all the knee problems - I have had 3 knee surgurys, my first at 13. I was in a full leg case from Dec - June!!!! Technology has changed a great deal.

It is good to take care of them and not let it go too long. I have two bad knees and will now need replacements. They wanted to to it this fall but I was not ready and opted for physical therapy. it did okay for a while but now the pain is coming back.

Wish all the kids well!

Whose kids are wearing costumes for pirate night?? Samantha decided she wanted one just the other day. I found one on sale online and am hoping it gets here in time! They said I should have it by Wednesday so I am keeping my fingers crossed! :goodvibes

Julia's wearing one too :thumbsup2

Judy, so sorry to hear about your son's knee! The friends we're sailing with had the same thing happen to their oldest son -- maybe the boys can get together on board and talk about it...But I would be freaking out if it were my DS.

Kat -- yes, Keith and I both dress up for Pirate Night, so Sam need not worry!

On the question of DIS Tag, I'm going to make a poll on the Yahoo list. It will be public, so we'll end up with a list of who wants to play and who doesn't.

I'm trying my hardest to figure this out. I'm a computer nerd and I'm having difficulty... :confused3 Okay just in case I never get the hang of it, Holly (sugaswim) and I (both in 8502) do want to participate in the DIS tag! My profile on yahoo is NojNor05 and my e-mail is tigerlily206@verizon.net Not sure what is used over there. :confused3
Sorry...my head is filled with information for all my exams! :rotfl: Had my first one at 11:30 this morning and I'd say it went rather well. :goodvibes (Although with the professor I have it's not really for a grade, but I'd say my essay was well written!)

I officially hate college...lol..or at least finals anyway

:dancer: :dancer: :dancer: We got our docs at 4:30 today.:dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :rockband: :jumping1:

Our other horse the one at our house decided to calic today. Hopefully, he is getting better now. Vet said that he should be fine but geesh could I get a little break before the cruise.I walked him for 4 and half hours and gave him a shot for his pain. I am telling you. I NEED this vacation.

Judy sorry to hear about your son. I have had knee surgery too. Took 18 months to get almost full ROM back. But I did and it is fine now.

Congrats on getting your docs. I guess we'll see you at the Hyatt since we leave Seatac at 6am and arrive in Orlando at 4:30pm. I bet my son will hit the pool when we arrive at the hotel.

We are packing up tonight and will be leaving tomorrow. Everyone is so excited. Cherilyn is looking forward to meeting Sam.

Take care and see everyone soon. Not sure when everything is happening because I just haven't had any time for reading but I am hoping to catch up with someone along the way.

Have a safe trip, Sandra.

Do you know when the ornament exchange is?

Thanks everyone for the kind words and wishes for DS. We are looking at Jan 25th for the surgery.

Safe travels to all of you leaving soon. We will see you next Sat.

Hang in there all you college people and good luck on those finals! My DS is taking his ACT in the morning. Nothing like waiting till the last minute!

For our meet...is is on starboard side?

I have all the clothes folded and ready to go into the suitcases. My DS comes home today and says he needs his black dress pants, shirt and tie for his Christmas concert on Sunday and Wednesday. Ugh! Guess I'll be washing and packing some things next Thursday right before we leave.

I'm starting to panic...so much more to do...time is going by fast!!!

Talk to you tomorrow,
Judy

Hi everyone...

First want to start by saying to Judy "Sorry" to here about your son...one thing we all hate is when our children are ill in one wy or another. Best wishes to you all.

Next...Well Angela it's about time!!!!! :dancer: :dancer:

Today was a very busy day...and tomorrow will not be any better. On top of everything I am pet sitting for someone over the weekend. All the school stuffis out of the way...we had Family craft night last night and the family sing 2 days ago. Dont ya hate when you have so much to do but ya still have PTA responsabilities!!!

Went and collected HW for the week of missed school. We will start it this weekend and on the plane.

I am getting ready to go to sleep so I can get up early and continue on. So I will touch base with you all in the morning....sweet dreams!!!
