Good morning all! I got home last night and folded laundry, hemmed my DD's pants and went to bed. I am still tired this morning too. I really need a break! Thank god the cruise is coming soon!!! Time to go wake the DD and get her moving so she can go to school this morning. That's always a fun job, not :lmao:

Good Morning Cruisers :surfweb:

Up early today...gotta love turning the clocks back!!! I didn't even have to wake Julia up.

I had to wake Sam up and she fell asleep before 8:00 last night! She played hard yesterday! Seems she is only up early on weekends :rotfl2: .

Oh, by the way, I have been contacting people we haven't heard from in a while and I heard back from Juletime (Jeri, DH Henrick, DD Helena) and they aren't going to be joining us after all. They are going on a Med cruise instead.

Good morning everyone!!

Just have a couple of minutes to wish you all a great day!!

I am back to work today for the first time since May.

Boy this work thing really messes with my time on the DIS :goodvibes

Take care

Denise

Morning everyone! :surfweb:

I'm glad the time change made the morning easier for some of you...it should have for me...but it didn't work that way. :sad2:

I wasn't on the boards last night so I had so much to catch up on....y'all were busy!

Jen, I'm so sorry things are struggling again. I have a dentist appointment this morning, but I'll touch base later today.... Just remember you have a lot going on, and if this guy doesn't work out, heck! you're in college! have some fun!

Robin, I also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, Mexican food. Maybe because I literally grew up on it. When I was a girl and lived in SD, my dad was away in the Navy. My mom worked, so these lovely Mexican women would come during the week and stay with us, returning home on weekends. (I'm sure it was all legal... ) Then on weekends, my mom and a friend always took us (and friends' children) into TJ because they got their hair done (you know, the once a week in the beauty shop bouffant that was required in the 60s).
Anyhow, the ladies cooked Mexican and the restaurants in TJ fixed Mexican. I'm not sure I ever had a proper taco, seems like they just used whatever was around, but frijoles and tortillas came with every meal. I have plenty of chances to eat it here. We have a huge hispanic population in various areas outside of Atlanta--they do all landscaping, painting, etc. Because hispanic people are here, they have businesses or businesses cater to them. My challenge is not eating Mexican too often...cause I can't stay out of the chips!

So I just checked the community board and Ty started another thread today still hyping the surprise....whatever it is! When I was buzzing around yesterday Ellen DeGeneres had shown....

EmmyJules, my son Kevin just turned 10 last week. He is on the kid board as well. I don't think DS will have any trouble with buddies. I think the new tween club will accommodate someone your daughter's age too...then she can be with her brother but there should be kids her age there as well...if you don't want to, as Robin says, throw her to the wolves.

And good luck at work Denise!

OK, off to the dentist...and then errands. Of course I've been flossing! :goodvibes

Three sons...Thank you for replying about the tween club. The info on the disney cruise site is pretty vague (I could be looking in the wrong place for info)and now my daughter has it in her head that this area has things for younger kids. She does not want to be with her brother and him being the 9 almost 10 year old little brother pretty much likes to drive her crazy. She pretty much wants to hang at the Stack but I have my concerns. Anyone else having to deal with this or experienced the Stack in the past? This 13 year old can be pretty persistant when she wants to...oh yeah because she is 13 (ha, ha).

They have just remodeled an area on the ship to be more like a teen hangout...and they have the Lab. The newly remodeled area doesn't look all that different from the stack--just different aged kids. Sounds like your daughter may be 13 going on 16. I don't know a cure for that! :confused3 Maybe someone else here on the boards will have a girl she can pal with or find our more from. ...?

Thanks so much, I will keep working on her (I am more persistant than she is, ha ha). Oh by the way, you live outside Atlanta? We live in the western NC mountains (near Asheville). I love Atlanta, I would live there in a minute and we head that way as much as we can to get a city fix. El Azteca has some great mexican food.

Shelly, for the ticker the piece you want to put in your signature is the entire string they list under the bbCode section, not the URL. If you just put the URL you get a link. If you copy the entire string in the bbCode section and paste it in your signature you will get the ticker like you see below in mine. Hope that helps!

The days are counting down, aren't they???? Less than 50 now :woohoo: ! Of course, that means I really have to buckle down and get things sorted out for Mom so she has care while we are gone. Ugh, what a bad time for that situation to fall apart :furious: .

Kat, thank you SOOOOO much for the help with my ticker problem. I finally got it worked out. :cheer2:

Yay, glad I could help! It looks good!

Did you get my pm this morning?

That is beautiful country you live in, Shelly. My grandparents used to live in Tryon and we'd go there every summer. I came across some picture of their house recently and almost wish I could have that house and move their. It was a great house on top of one of the hills in the middle of the woods. It had huge windows and there were lots of birds and such. I remember one visit where there were massive thunderstorms and we sat in the middle of the floor in the living room and just watched the storms out the window. The window was so big it was like watching a movie or something! We were wrapped in blankets and it was so dark outside. When the lighting flashed we could see the trees outlined. It was scary but really neat at the same time!

Susan - Did they really close the pass today? DH thinks we are going to Chelan for Thanksgiving. I told him that I do not do snowy passes especially Blewett.

Yes Angela, The temps suddenly dropped from 41 to 33 and we got serious hail up about 1,000 feet and 5 minutes up the road they got heavy blowing snow! It's open as of 5am this morning.

Not looking good for the winter. Are you flying to Seattle or driving for the cruise????

Shelly -I can totally relate - my kids are 14 and 16. We took a 3 night cruise last november and my now 14 year old was uncomfortable there but his sister loved it (never came back to the room before 2am) My 8th grader is a boy and he is normally very outgoing. He is looking forward to the teen club this time but I don't think his sister is thrilled about him stunting her good time.

We are driving. The Chelan Lusks and Prosser Lusks are driving too. My BIL was trying to go back to Prosser last night not sure how he made it over the pass yet. I will have to call and check.
