I think there will be enough competition to get the 10,000 post without putting money into the mix :rotfl: ! We are all just that kind of people :).

Oh, How true, Kat :rotfl: . They'll be pirates pirate: pirate: pirate: coming out of the woodwork to snag that milestone. I think gaRry snaked in on the "Blabbermouths" thread and stole one of their big milestones pirate: .

All's fair in love  and pirating pirate: milestones :thumbsup2

I know nobody cares about the difference here but me, but don't you have alligators, not crocodiles? (See, just when I think I know something....I THINK that is what they have in Florida.) They have a lot of them on the islands where we vacation in South Carolina, and my son even has a funny story about coming face to face with one while retrieving a golf ball! (The same Summer he came face to face with a very large Barracuda snorkeling in the netted area at Castaway Cay!) We thought he was exaggerating until an adult who overheard him telling us confirmed the existence of this creature!
I was very close to a huge Barracuda at cast away cay! I was watching it as it watched me. When I yelled to a bunch of snorkalers to come and look they swam away fast. Than before I knew it it was gone.

Report cars come out in 2 weeks. If I was a betting person I would say 14 yr old B/C's. 16 year old 6 A's. We will see.

You know, I bet if they really handed out report cars instead of report cards, students would get better grades. ;)

On the other hand, my son would end up with a Yugo.

haha your right...i would have tried harder had i gotten cars...lol! wow you all are posting alot. i was in class for an hour and POOF! all these posts!

The adult that verified my son's story said that the netting had a hard time keeping them out because their bodies are long and narrow--kinda makes you feel confident, doesn't it? What he remembers most is the TEETH! :teeth:

54....

I think we have a picture of a barracuda in the snorkel area at CC too.

Yup, it's a race, all right. I thought it might be a day or two but at this rate we might even get there today!

As Mary Ann would say, it's fluff time...

fluff fluff fluff

We actually have both. Since I've not got close enough to check out his teeth and eyes he'll be a crocodile. :)

But you're right, it's probably an alligator. :thumbsup2

I didn't know you had both....like I said, just when I think I've learned something... I find out I didn't. :guilty:

But just to be sure, next time you hear one, go check it out for me, 'kay?? :thumbsup2

OK--you win! :teacher:

Now I'm curious and I'll have to go figure out if they have crocs (not the shoes but the critters) in South Carolina too--and Georgia, for that matter. They're pretty common in the Southern part of the state--Wish I could remember who told me that all we have in the Southeast is Gators??? I'd send them to you for the real scoop!

People in other parts of the country forget about 'Gators (and, I guess crocs.) One time we were staying at OKW and were out on our porch. There were two very young children up right to the edge of the little lagoon back there feeding birds or something. Their parents must have been inside. They were visiting from Chicago. I got a little worried about them, and finally just suggested they move back a little, that sometimes there were 'gators in the water. They looked at me in horror and ran inside! :rotfl2:

Honest, I didn't mean to scare them, just didn't want them eaten--they looked like gator snack size to me!

Help meeeeeeeeee!

I'm eating all the Laffy Taffy out of the Halloween bag!!

I have to buy stuff I don't like. (Laffy Taffy works for me, I have a harder time avoiding the chocolate!) Once I start giving in.......(shudder)

Maybe you could feed one to your 'croc! I'd like to see HIM get that stuff stuck in his teeth! :teeth:

We went to Gatorland in Orlando a couple of years ago. DD was fascinated. Wouldn't want to get close to those guys, though! Those teeth are sharp and pointy! Glad we don't have them in our backyard!

Geez, just got an email about ordering stuff from our company store. Only 60 more shopping days until Christmas!!! Wow!

They're creepy looking aren't they? In this part of the country it is not uncommon for certain people (like Okefenokee Joe--I loved that name!) to travel around talking about them and educating children about them. I have a picture of the guy holding a smaller one, with my DS helping. Personally, I was glad to be the one TAKING the picture rather than IN it! :bitelip:

DD got a kick out of eating the alligator tail nuggets they served at the snack bar there, though she wasn't too impressed by them overall. That kid will try anything!
