12/16/06 10-day holiday cruise Part 3

44 days for us! We have our flights from Disney and leave Seattle at 6am Dec 15th!

Angela - if you get a chance to read this after you get on line. We had to get our seats after we got the information from Disney - on our arriving set of fights their are not 14 open seats. TA from Orbitz set up our seats and then I changed them around last night.

Just popping in to say hello! Not many kids last night. We have all little ones in our neighborhood so they were all done within an hour. My kids will eat all the leftover candy. DH and I graduated from the same high school in 1980 and 1981. Our 3 kids go there now--class of '07, '09, '10.

Our football team is in the playoffs starting this weekend. We sat in the rain, wind, snow, hail, thunder, and lightening this past Saturday for their last game. At least they won 35-6!! This Saturday it is only supposed to be cold--none of the other mess we had last weekend.

I actually started organizing clothes for the cruise--put them all in one section of our closet. Started getting the toiletries packed also.

Have to go switch the laundrey. Two more loads to do.

Judy

Happy "day after" Halloween Everyone (thanks for the BOO, Kat)

Candy was not my downfall last night. However, my house is the starting point for trick-o-treating for family and friends. This started years ago with my in-laws, and when we bought their house the tradition kind of came with the house. The men take the kids out in the neighborhood, while the woman folk stay behind and drink lots of wine and gossip. My BIL leaves the kids early to go pick up Chinese Food....and every year gets yelled at because he takes to long getting back with the food (he likes his Mai Tai's). We buy enough food to feed the entire neighborhood and then some. Soooo, candy is not what gets me on Halloween....it's the darn chinese food. Now my fingers are blown up like a sausage.

So - the '08 cruising rates came out this morning. Is anyone else looking to book while on board to get the 10% off? I'm thinking maybe Thanksgiving, Spring Break, (our break always coincides with Patriots Day - running of the Boston Marathon) or perhaps a New Year's cruise, depending on the dates. Christmas falls on a Thursday in 2008, so I doubt they will have another 10 day. So to minimize days off from school for Julia, I would more likly do a New Year's one. Anyway, they don't give you the 10% discount for the specialty cruises, only the regular Magic and Wonder itineries. I think I have issues when I start getting all giddy about cruising again just because they released the rates  .

We actually have 44 days too, though we don't leave until 5ish in the evening on the 15th. We get in around 10pm and are staying at a hotel near the airport and are driving to port the next morning. Can't wait!!!

We only need 11. SIL is flying in early. So will my TA have any info? Silly question!! She is alittle confused. (Not including all TAs just ours)

So Susan my next question, is there anything I can do? We would like to arrive around 4 or 5 not 11 p.m.

Hi Angela...good luck on the seats! Flying is getting to be such a hassle, isn't it???

we booked on the last 10 day and recieved a discount and the $200 onboard credit per stateroom (we have 2 staterooms)...

i hope disney gives us our flights soon!!!

Angela I don't know. TA told us yesterday that Disney called them and said that they were booking all flights yesterday for 12/16 cruise. It has not showed up on disneycruise.com yet. But TA was able to give us our reservation number with Delta and then look up the flights.

I was excited because I was afraid of arriving at 11pm and now I know we will be arriving at 4:30!!! I don't even mind leaving for the airport at 4:30 am.

That sounds like an awful long day, though! Kind of like me coming back from Vancouver last month! Is your flight direct or do you have stop?

Morning all,
Graduation class of 1976....Rumson/new Jersey

Everyone sure has been busy on here today :sunny:

One stop each way. Seattle to SLC to Orlando then Orlando to Atlanta to Seattle. Never expect a direct flight from Seattle :rotfl:

Never flown on Delta before!

they are okay...we've flown with them on the last few cruises

We usually fly Delta, especially to Orlando or when visiting my Dad in Georgia. That's how I got to fly to Vancouver for $39 round trip!!! Flew Delta to London last year and to Hawaii in March so I had lots of miles!! The only problem I have had is that since I made our reservations for the flight to Orlando next month they have changed our flights twice already and not notified me! :furious: Ugh. That reminds me, I need to check again, just to make sure nothing has changed again.

we've never had delta change our flights once disney booked them...but you book them privately don't you?

We'll wave at your plane as you go by....

We almost always fly Delta--living here, they have almost everything locked up. They're fine though.

We'll be driving, so none of this is an issue for us....all we have to worry about it car trouble, traffic, bad weather (hopefully no **** since we're heading South). DSs are pretty good car travelers for no longer than this trip should be. They know what to bring to entertain themselves.
