12/10/05 ~ Anyone else cruising.....??

Welcome Dorothy! I can also relate to that feeling. :) I was shocked when DH gave me a box with cruise information in it Christmas morning 2003. I NEVER would have even dreamt of taking a cruise. Heck, I had never been to WDW. Now we are going on our third and hope that we can continue this new tradition. It truely is the only time that the four of us can relax & really have a great time...even if we are just relaxing by the pool DH has a pretty demanding & stressful job that keeps him away from home alot. He leaves the laptop & cell phone at home on this one trip. :)

I can relate my job recently became more demanding just before my last cruise 11/2004. I am hoping that I have more time to relax on my 2nd cruise than my first. I wanted to take in every thing and try and do everything in the 4 days. Not possible :sad2:

Hello,

My cousin's family (Wendy, her husband, DD-3 and DS-then 6mos, her mom and dad) and I will be on the 12/10 7-day cruise. She booked through Member Services as she is using some of her vacation club points for the cruise. She booked mine through CostCo Travel and got me a good, great I should say, rate. After years of travelling with my cousin and her husband and asst'ed others, I am finally sick of being the one sleeping on the couch or sleeper sofa. I am getting my own room this time. It's a Cat 11, but on deck 7 so not too bad. The rest are on deck 6 with the verandahs...so if i need my fix I can just head down to their rooms. We will also be spending 6 days on WDW, either at the BWV or BCVs......

Just wanted to pop in and say hi.......When we went on the 4-day a few years back, we chatted with alot of DISers and even set up a meet, but no one was brave enough to show up....Hope to meet some of you this time around. I will be hard to miss...Japanese-American single male and very good looking... :rotfl2:

Hello all!!!
Finally getting in to the swing of things with two little ones!! I am so ready for our cruise...
we leave for WDW on the 16th!! I can't wait...Princess Haley's first trip! Samantha has been telling her little sister all about eating with Cinderella....luckily I did book the Cinderella dinner....was WAY to late to get the bfast...but I did get that for our May trip!!
We got our Braves passholder tix today....it is a regular game but admission to the suites with a buffett lunch....this was a present to myself....!! So we are going to two games...Braves/Indians.....DH loves the Indians as he is from Ohio....and Braves/Phillies...I am the Braves fan in the family! The other day we will go to one or two parks....we are only going for three nights this stay.
I am trying to stay out of the cruise area....I am so ready to go!! but hey only 9 months!! That is a pregnancy!!!

Hi All! I'm just checkin' in here....

Lillygator: your daughter is precious! Thanks for sharing the photos
Dorothy: welcome! my daughter is 6, will be 7 by December.
Jordanyosh: Welcome!

Here's an update...no word on DH's employment status yet. Bill came in for my deposit & travel insurance so I just paid it. My friend/neighbor has finally put her deposit down...she was waiting to her about my status. I told her with or without me....she should go enjoy it with her family! Still keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have to cancel. Filed our taxes and we are getting a big chunk of money back.... Don't know how much of that we'll have left after our two day trip to Vegas the end of this month. :rolleyes1

Have a great weekend all!

Hello all!!! Just wanted to keep everyone up to date on the website. You can no longer access it. Tripod is transferring the sites from Ivillage for the next couple weeks & I am basically waiting to hear from them to find out how to get to it. When I find that out, I will let you guys know & get all the new comers added to it. Worse case...when we switch to highspeed internet I will use the web space that comes with it to transfer what I saved on CD so we can keep this thing going. :)

Good to hear from you missmulan! I was wondering how you were doing this week since I haven't seen you posting anywhere on the boards lately. Have you been working on that scrapbook? I've taken a bit of a break dealing with other things here & at school. DH has also been gone for nearly all that time & wasn't suppose to be home until tomorrow afternoon but surprised us tonight. Well, actually I thought that someone was breaking into the house & was ready to grab the big scissors out of the junk drawer that I had open. :(

Lilly,

Your DH and I are going to have to talk! Let me know what part of OH he is from. Let him know that one of your cruise mates is a Cleveland Indian's Season Ticket Holder (20 games). Who knows, if we have a good season, maybe it could be our turn for a World Series Championship now that those Red Sox fans can finally stop their moaning . . . Not since 1948!

If he wants anything from back home, the Jake, or if he is also a Brown's fan (season tickets there too) let me know, and I'll be happy to pick it up for him!

Amy and I were just talking tonight (on an evening to ourselves) how much we want this cruise to be tomorrow, and how much we are looking forward to it!

John

hi lisa! i've been busy with ebay stuff...just listing and then packing it takes a lot of time. working on that scrapbook?? hah! i wish i was that driven to finish my last 5 events. in fact, the ONLY thing that i'm not lookin' forward to is the scrapbook album i'll have to do for this next cruise.

Why don't we just start a list going here....we'll just update periodically and re-list it. i'm not sure what info you're looking for...something like this?

name - dh, dd7, ds5 - stateroom

Welcome jordanyosh!
Lisa thanks for keeping us updated about the website. Hopefully, they will get everything transferred over without any problems.
missmulan, I saw your name on another thread the other day and was wondering if there was news on your husbands job yet or not. Keep us posted.
Can't wait for the cruise!

Thanks to all of you making me feel welcome.

I actually just went to WDW in Jan/Feb of this year for 9 days. My roommates, my friend, Donna and I stayed at the BCV and had a great time. They had never been before and I had a blast showing them around.

Anyways, this will be my 4th DCL cruise. The first two were 3-day, the last was a 4-day and of course this next one will be the 7-day.....can't wait. I am a OCD planner so I have already started planning everything. I am looking at all the cruise websites out there and gathering a ton of good info.......

Having the pictures on the site helps me put a face to a name so that I can remember it better. The kids also love to look at their new friends. I wont put personal info online so that is why I was using a password secured website. Funniest thing that happened doing this was on the last cruise. John sent me his family's info & after I sent him the link to the site he saw that we live 40 minutes from where they have vacationed for the last 12-15 years or so. They were going to be here two weeks later so we were all able to meet before the cruise. The kids were really excited to see his DD again for the cruise and they were inseperable on the ship.

MM, I can't totally relate to the time Ebay takes...I'm on dial up so it is worse. Do you use turbo lister? That really helped me out time wise. I haven't listed in a while though. I am thinking of trying out overstock's auctions since I got a $10 listing credit when I signed up with them.

Just made our pre-cruise reservations at the Radison. WOW! That is early for us but the hotels are filling up & their rooms are limited too.

cristit14: Thanks for asking about DH's job...we should know his fate in the next two weeks. The word has gone out in his industry and he did get a call of offer. Thank goodness he has made a name for himself and is pretty well liked! We'll see.

Lisa: okay three letters for you....Dee Ess Elle!! :teeth:
Trouble with overstock is that ebay is far more known and used. Let me know how that goes. I think ebay has the online auction market cornered. No, I don't use turbo lister. I'm not that savvy but I manage here & there.

I'm trying to get my friend/neighbor on this board. She is absolutely a sweetheart!! She will be traveling with DH, DD8, DS4.

So far we talk as if we're still definitely going. My DS who will be 5 on the 24th LOVES Stitch so much that we talk about him singing the theme song to "Lilo & Stitch The Series" on Karaoke night. He sings it well too.

Jenny

Jenny, we live in hicksville so noone has a decently priced option here. I just found out that there is a 3 meg deal vs the 5 meg standard price & that would only be a little more than what we are paying with callwave on the phone. I am really looking forward to it! I just need to be able to go into their office to find out about that & cable phone hookup too. :)

So, who else will be staying in the port area Friday night? We will be getting to town sometime that afternoon & will be at the Radison too.

I am not sure if we will be in the port area Friday night or still in Orlando. We are going to tack on two days at WDW I think and we are leaning towards doing it before the cruise. If we do that I hope to fly into Orlando Wed night and then have Thursday and Friday at the parks. It probably really depends on the kids school schedule and when Rachel's choir concert will be. She is in the 2nd and 3rd grade choir right now and they had their concert I believe the first week in December this year. Next year she will be in the Troubadors (4-6 grade). She is thinking that they don't have their concert until after winter break. Looking at the school schedule for next year so far they have the kids getting out the Friday before Christmas for their break. If they decide to move it up we will probably then do WDW afterwards so they don't miss as much school. I don't know.... decisions...decisions.... :confused3

We live so close to the Cape that we will drive up that Saturday Morning. Save that money for the Spa. Dorothy

That sounds mighty convenient! :) Of course, you didn't have any fun in the late summer. We live on the coast of NC & usually get our fare share of huricanes.

Hey everyone! Not sure how reliable this is...you know the rumors that go around here. :) Someone just posted this schedule for MVMCP. Looks good if you wanted to go before the cruise and great if you are going after. I am happy that we wont need to buy a special ticket to stay at MK on Saturday night to see the fireworks & parade. :)
