LOL! I noticed that Friday night but that is only because we are starting our drive down to Port Canaveral on Thursday afternoon. It's the little things that make us happy!

You guys need to look at the prices on overstock.com auctions. I just got 200 bracelets for 9 + 10.95 shipping. They are for the school carnival but I can get some at cost too, which will end up being around .09 each. We will be getting a batch of 500 for the carnival at Halloween so I can get some for everyone in the DIS group if you would like. I guess that you can put in your orders & I can get what we will need from that.

I did see the glow items on oriental trading, but I also found some other sites that had them cheaper. The only thing with that was you did have to order pretty big batches. So, Lisa, if you are ordering some for your school anyway and wouldn't mind getting some extra, I would be happy to send you some money.

Everyone, I know that we will have the bracelets and I might be able to get them to order the necklaces too if they sell well at the school spring dance. I'm kind of running the fundraising prize/sale aspect of it for the moment. Since I am ordering everything & inventorying it...there will not be a problem buying some of them outright. I'll get a count later on when we actually get them in & I can guarantee that they are good quality items.

Well, they don't have any necklaces up for auction right now to check the price but I would expect them to be along the same lines for cost as these. If nothing else, the kids joined 3 of them together last cruise to make a necklace.

So, it sounds like you guys are serious pin traders. We haven't done any trading. We did get a couple of free pins with our land/sea last year. Maybe I should bring them along on the cruise.

I guess they are serious traders. LOL! They were introduced to the world of trading on our last cruise & became adicted. We didn't go anywhere without their lanyards & if we did, they asked the CM to save the pin for them while they went tot he stateroom. DS had a knack of picking out the special CM lanyard pins that only they can buy or get. DD went for the princesses. It was great for her to help her come out of her shyness and open up. They know that they can only trade with CMs with nametags. The CMs in the shop were so nice to them. I started them out with a plain lanyard & 5 pins each. They ended up double trading a couple of them on the last day because they found pins they liked better. LOL! You can get free pins with the Kellogg's promo that comes out in the spring. I ended up with 10 of them that way last time & filled in with some from the pin sale. 17 pins should keep them busy for the 7 days. I am removing the ones that they traded for on the last cruise and making a framed shadow box to display them and plan to do the same for their next collection. In the long run, getting the pins this way is alot better on our wallet. The pins they are trading for are at the least $6.50 each. Some of the ones DD picked up are $12 pins.

I will have to look into the Kellogs promo in the Spring. I think that DD might like it I am not sure about DS though. I think I have four pins right now. Somehow with our package last summer we got two lanyards with I believe two pins each. So was it mostly in the shops that the CM's had the pins to trade or could you find them anywhere?

The CMs in the shops all had lanyards. Most of the CMs at GS had them too. When we walked in the atrium boarding the ship the kids went right to the CMs clapping & welcoming us aboard. LOL! They all had lanyards. There is one night that the officers wear lanyards & trade too. It is a great way to have them interact with others, especially if they are shy. They received alot of complements on their lanyards. I didn't expect DD to open up as much as she did so I fully expected to do her trading for her so that she would have pins from the trip too. DS even traded for a couple princess pins for DD if she wasn't there & he thought that she would like a pin. She gave him one off her lanyard for it. If she didn't like the pin, he just kept it to trade for something else he wanted. He got quite good at it even at 6 yo.
