12/10/05 ~ Anyone else cruising.....??

I'm off to see my Dad this morning. He spent 8 weeks in intensive care beginning mid August and then another couple of weeks in a regular hospital room. He is now in rehab unit, so I need to check in on him before we leave. It's over a two hour drive each way to where he is, so I haven't gotten up there much since the Thanksgiving maddness began here.

ROFL! DH just told DS that they have stopped serving chicken fingers on the ship. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
He's not in the best of moods right now so that made him stop for a minute & think. He just frowned & said that he guesses that he wont be eating anything but mickey bars then.

Hello all...

This is my first time posting. My family and I are also booked for the 12/10 cruise. We can't wait. It will be our first time on a Disney Cruise. We have to thank my son for this wonderful trip. It is his Make-A-Wish trip.

I kids can't wait.. dd-15, and ds-11. I just hope they don't get to borad. Can anybody give me tips for the DCL? Has anybody Cruised during time time of year. What should we bring? How is the weather?

Our room is not the greatest.. Maybe we will get an upgrade. Are cabin is on deck 1 with the two small port holes. I wish that I was up a little. I don't like the idea of me being on the bottom... Anyway.. I hope that everyone has fun. I know I will. ( Going SCUBA diving in ST. Thomas)

Thanks,
Jessica From Michigan

Welcome Jessica!!!!!

We all welcome you with open arms. We hope you will introduce yourselves to us.

LBgraves has made a special website with everyone (almost everyone) who visits the Disboards and also is going on our cruise. I am sure she will get you the information.

Actually the lower you are the less you will feel any motion.

Good morning to all. Off to church in about a half an hour. I am able to get about a quarter of football before I leave.

I don't feel like I am at all prepared for this trip. I have so much going on....I leave in 37 hours!!!!!

I just edited the first post of this thread to include the website info. There are just too many pages & posts to find the many postings on it anymore. Hope you don't mind, Vanessa. :)

You aren't on the very bottom of the ship! There are 2 or 3 more decks below deck 1 where the CMs sleep. :)

Thanks all..

I'm so can't wait for this trip.. Looking outside this morning I need some nice weather. We got 4in of snow over night.

And in some kind of way, I'm not ready. Trying to find things to pack. My DH say's I'm taking everything but the kitchen sink. But as I tell him, I'm not sure what I might want to wear. And getting my DD ready for this trip is like pulling hair. She thinks that she can get it don't the night before.

I have so many qustions, but don't know were to start.

Jessica from Michigan

Wow - lots of posts...I think I have our bags for the two night stay at Disney packed. I am waiting on DH to get home so I can make a final Walmart run before we leave. I am going to try and get everything else packed tonight, I want to come home M, T and W and just relax in the evening....:)

Hi All, Welcome Jessica and family,

we didn't get to Animal Kingdom today, spent 3 hours trying to trade in rental cars and getting lost in the World, someone really ought to put street signs up at the exits for the lanes.

Oh well, some day next week we'll go to Animal Kingdom, we have to pick up my parents and sister tonight at the airport anyway.

Gotta go,

Welcome, Jessica..... You will be fine on deck 1, we are on deck 2 and like it. Anyplace on the ship is good for me... :flower:

Welcome to you and your family Jessica . . .

I am sure you will all have a great and memorable time. This is our seventh Disney Cruise, and it is our favorite vacation. Keep reading on these boards and you will find lots of info.

We are also from the "Great White North" - Just a little South of you, and we will be very glad to leave this snow behind.

DD is watching the kids sled down the hill behind our house, and is peeved at me that I won't let her go out and sled. I am too worried she will get sick. She catches bronchitis easily with her asthma.

Watching my Browns losing again, we gave away our tickets because I didn't want to go and get sick!

John

I guess you are right about anywhere on the ship being good.

I wished that I would of found this site awhile back. It's nice to know people can chat with each other before our cruise. I sent my info to Lisa and I'm looking forward to meeting all of you..

sledding??? wow - today is actually so beautiful, high 70's, low 80's....
I went to Walmart and got Haley's formula, an over the door shoe holder and odds and ends....now trying to pack, watch football and relax!

Welcome newcomers!

Welcome to you, Jessica and your family! :grouphug: So glad you could join us! I am fairly new to this site, too - it will be our first cruise! You will see that this is a wonderful bunch of people

I know you will have a great time! I don't think there is any danger getting bored! :rolleyes1 Scuba! My DH is a diver, but hasn't gone in years - hard to do in Oregon :sunny: C U real soon! :earseek:

2635...

ok.....I cleaned house only to have DD wreck it. I am so ready to give my children....no child...away to a good home! I guess my house will never be neat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG! I can't beleive all the post! I will have to catch up. But I wanted to let you know the movies playing on the ship. Chicken Little, Finding Nemo, Herbie The Love Bug, Ice Princess, Incrediables, Ladder 49, Narnia, National Treasures, Pacfier, Winnie the Pooh Heffelumps, Pirates of the Carabean, Sky High, Valient, Dark Water, & Flight Plan.

Alot of movies to watch. Today we have been busy, busy busy. Laundry, ironing, cleaning, & packing.

I have noticed a few more new people to the board. Welcome aboard. I want to say to those leaving early have a grand time at WDW. Plus have a safe trip. I guess I best start catching up. Diana :wave2:

Yo. I'm home now. Got my haircut today. Had the last of good mexican food for a couple of weeks.

Wendy arrived at WDW this afternoon and is at dinner right now. They are contemplating going to Evening Magic Hours at MGM. They'll see.

Well, I managed to pull our DS's clothes for the cruise this afternoon! :) I also gave DH & DS their haircuts tonight so they are set. I trimmed DD's & my bangs last week so they should be good until we get back. Load 7 for the weekend is in the washer now with #8 waiting. This is rediculous!!! I will work on the website after finishing the PTO newsletter that needs to be printed & sent out tomorrow. :)

Yeah Vanessa, sledding. :cold: Highs in the high 20's to low 30's this week.

We are almost completely packed, and I have to tell you Lisa that Amy is a nervous wreck because we have NEVER been packed this soon! We usually pack the night before we leave.

Vanessa, maybe we could give our kids away at the same time for awhile . . . I spent the whole day yesterday chasing after my dd and my niece, and today, dd destroyed the house again! Not to mention wanting to stick her nose in EVERY part of our packing!

And I wonder why we are so tired every night when we go to bed?

John

Pixie dust needed. Wendy has forgotten baby Dylan's birth certificate. She will have to have her in-laws go in person to the county registar's office to get an official copy before they fly out on Friday. Hopefully it can be done......
