12/10/05 ~ Anyone else cruising.....??

Hi Angie -- I'm here. Been busy reading other posts. Would you belive my DH fell asleep during the last quarter of the USC game last night? Fresno was ahead by one when he nodded off! He had worked 16+ hours at the hospital yesterday so I guess he had a good excuse... but he woke up this morning wondering who had won! Happy (for you) to hear SC pulled if off. We're UofA fans -- but other than our unbelievable win over UCLA two weeks ago we don't have much to cheer about in the football arena! I'm mostly a college basketball fan -- but DH loves all sports.

I found all of the Navigators from a October 05 Magic sailing -- do you know if they change them much from month to month, or could I assume much of the activities will be the same --- with a few changes due to the holidays?

I'm here....sort if - I kind of have a tendancy to log in and leave the computer....keep checking my fantasy score.....:)

I know a few of you Ebay...so I am going to ask this here rather than in a more "public" part of a public forum....I have only left negative feedback once so I am pretty unfamiliar with it.

But I purchased something on 9/5/05 - a custom made auction which could take up to "3 weeks"....fine - I understood that.
On 11/11 I rec'd a email that said "I am sorry we just found your package and will be mailing out on Monday"....so today I emailed the seller and said when can I expect it and if you haven't mailed it to please keep it and refund my money. She emails back with "yes you should have them on/by Wed at the latest. they were shipped Sat. I had just found out I was having a miscarriage so I wasn't online to inform of shipping."

NOW, I have sold/bought on Ebay for a while...and I don't like the fact she drug in "personal" issues. What kind of feedback should I leave? and if it was mailed 11/11 why would it be here next Wed?

well - (without waiting for advice) I emailed her back and expressed sympathy for what she is going through, but as a "business" transaction that should have been completed well before now, I would like my shipping refunded or else if she actually hasn't mailed it out a full refund. Ugghhh!! and I feel guilty!

definitely a slow DIS night!

I managed to get my kitchen PICKED up~~ all my pots and pans have a HOME! I think everyone is asleep!! well, but me! I would like to watch Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy in peace!! :) What a selfish mom!

We decided to go to my mom's fot Tgiving but I told her today that from now on - on xmas we will be staying home no matter what and anyone is more than welcome to come over and eat/visit.

Hi Vanessa --

I use ebay (both seller/buyer) quite a bit. I'd say you handled it the right way. If you are not satisfied with the results you can go thru the official complaint channels of ebay. If she gives you what you want --- refund or free shipping then a neutral feedback with explaination is fair. If it all goes south then a negative feedback is well warranted. I've had mostly good experiences on ebay --- but from time to time something like this does happen and it is very disappointing/frustrating!

As for Desparate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy.... LOVE THEM! I think GA is just about the best show on tv these days! We also enjoy watching Lost... I hope you get the peace and quiet needed to enjoy both! We have Tivo --- so sometimes I don't watch them until late sunday night or even Monday morning/afternoon.

I'm here too. Been busy today, but guess what? My dining room table and the kitchen table are both cleaned off....AT THE SAME TIME!!!! THat is quite the accomplishment around here.

This morning I spent at least a couple of hours uploading picture for the four different calendars that I make for grandma's for Christmas.

I also spent time having Rachel try on shorts for the cruise. I did some trying on too. I was trying to plan out my dinner wear. I have the formal dress, pirate night taken care of and semi formal. On the last cruise I pretty much wore capris except one night(it was a 4 day). I thought maybe I would go for dresses each night this time. So I am trying on some dresses that I haven't worn in a LONG time. I put this one on and lower half fits fine, but a little snug up top. I go to take it off and I am stuck  . It didn't have a zipper, it's one of those with the elastic back (sundress). I got it on over my head, but then I couldn't squeeze my arms the right direction to get it off. Then I started laughing so hard at my predicament that I couldn't do anything. :rotfl2: I finally called for Brad to come rescue me. So that was my adventure for the day.

I'm here now too guys - been a long weekend of Football.

Happy belated Birthday Vanessa! :bday:

Buckeyes won - but tried to give the game away.

Our HS team lost in the regional final last night to their arch rival, very hard to beat a good team twice in the same season.

Today, DS Alex and I were at the Brown's game, and we got an easy win over the Dolphins 22-0. We actually had fun at the game, and it wasn't freezing cold yet. We were bundled, but comfortable, and when the sun came around to our side of the stadium, downright warm. When we go to the game, it is an all day affair, as we leave at about 9:30 in the morning, park, get lunch, walk to the stadium early, and hang out until the game. Usually don't get home until about 5:30.

We were walking to the game and there is a HUGE picture of LeBron James on the side of the Terminal Tower Building that is a Nike Ad. It has to be about 15 stories tall, and probably 200 feet wide - just amazing - it faces the new "Q" (Quicken Loans) arena.

Thanksgiving on deck, and a busy time for all of us that make our living in retail, whether you are in the grocery business, or working black friday in other retail.

DW has to shop tomorrow for our Thanksgiving dinner - we are having all of her family over, and her sister is driving up from VA with the kids.

Vanessa, I would file with Paypal ASAP for a refund if you used that to pay for your auction. Your window of opportunity is running out! They require that an item is shipped out within 7 days of payment. I believe that the seller is stalling & may not send you anything.

I have been clearing off this desk. I have printed out the address labels for the Christmas cards, printed the signatures on all of them and helped DD put the cards in the envies & the labels on them. Now I just need to write up our holiday letter for those who get it & send those out!!! :) I did throw some things away too. Last night I finished up a snapfish order. I went thru & uploaded all the pictures from March on then cropped them all. I also scanned the pictures that were before digital so that I can complete the kid's birthday albums and tried to order what I will need for our family holiday scrapbook. There were 450 pictures in the end...so I stopped...for now! ;)

I can't seem to tackle the laundry. :( DS tried on his suits & the jackets are too tight...so I will be picking up a new one this week.

Lisa - do I need to notify the seller that I intend to file for a refund? Although she says she has been offline ...she listed 3 auctions on 11/17. Overall she has good feedback - I am shocked.

NO! You will be giving her the chance to clear out her account with paypal. You DO NOT WANT TO DO THIS!!! It sounds like she is definitely lying to you. :( File tonight & tell them that you are getting promises but she is not delivering. If she doesn't have a tracking number proving that she sent you the item & you received it, she will lose the money. It will take a few weeks for the process but do NOT fall for her lies anymore. :) Everyone had to get their first neg.

If you used your CC to make the payment, you can file a chargeback with your CC company.

It's 12:42am PST. I can sleep in until 7-8am so I am staying up a little later than usual. Plus, no kids and no spouse give me more "me" time. I am a little surprised that we did not reach 2000 posts. Oh well.

Ducks lost AGAIN. 8 in a row now. I haven't watched a game in awhile now. I try and watch the OLN games on Mon or Tues just to watch good hockey. It's hard when all your teams are bad...i.e the Dodgers, Niners, Ducks........but it gives me time to do other things, like talking with live people.

Maggie, I currently live in Garden Grove. Grew up in Anaheim and went to UC Irvine. Worked at Disneyland, Souplantation/Sweet Tomatoes and Cheesecake Factory over the last 17 years. Are you from So Cal? Tuscon is one of the places that I didn't travel to when I work with Soup/Sweet. I travelled to and/or lived in Ft Lauderdale, Denver/Westminister, Portland, Northern Cal, San Diego, Fresno, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Albequerque, Houston, Chicago. I'm rambling, it's late.

Jordan - I bet we'll hit 2000 soon!
Monday morning! 2 weeks from today will be the Monday before we cruise! It is getting so close! :)

Cristi...I have done the same thing with my dresses....I tried one of for work the other morning and zipped it half way...got stuck and it took me a few minutes to get out if it! John had left for work already so I was on my on in the struggle.

Hi Vanessa;

I hope you get you Ebay situtaion resolved and that you get your stuff quickly.

Cristi,

I put on my dress that I'm planning on wearing on formal night, by the way, how formal are people getting? I may need to upgrade from the back dress I have planned, and it still fit :) with room to spare too, I wanted to have lost more weight before the cruise but I guess the 8 pounds will have to do. I guess I'll be going to the spinning classes and things :)

Well, I'm off to clean, take the kids out to the movies and eye doctor for my oldest dd and clean some more an pack. My goal for today is to clean the front living room and put away all of the laundry, vacuum in there and bring up some Christmas decorations.

Have fun everyone, I'll be on and off all day (and night :goodvibes ) sporatically.
