12/10/05 ~ Anyone else cruising.....??

Welcome all you new comers the more the merrier! :cool1:

Vanessa. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I'll send pixie dust for extra insurance. I don't blame you for getting more insurance. Hoefully by the time Wilma reaches your shore it will be downgraded quiet a bit.

Welcome, welcome newcomers! :grouphug:

The Golden Eagle Catamaran is ALOT of fun in St. Marteen. We have done it twice. Didn't check the ages of your children, but there were lots of kids on this. They would need to be able to swim at least a little though as you do snorkle in a bay. The crew on this trip is alot of fun.

Offer still open to link late dining with anyone interested. What that means for those new to this, is that you will be seated together or at least nearby depending on the size of the group. Last Dec we had 2 tables of 8, one table of 10 and one table of 4 all sitting together. Was lots of fun expecially after a few days when we all got to know each other better. Fun sharing what we had all done during the day. Just send a pm to me if you are interested.

Pixie dust for our friends in FL. There are LOTS of Disers there.

You had talked earlier about linking late diners. I mentioned that we would love to . :) But I forgot that my SIL had requested a special server. He had served her the last time she sailed. I may have to back out of linking unless you have an idea I do not wish to lose our server. Maybe there is away we can have tables close by? :confused3

oh yes whats this I hear your counting the days til the end of the cruise! I smell mutiny a foot! pirate: :rotfl2: If you don't watch it we'll have to have you walk the plank! pirate: :rotfl2:

Diana

Now I hope you were not referring to ME walking the plank. Me thinks it twas Vanessa that said the bad words about having to get off the ship! pirate:

Wow more new people...cool. Welcome to the madness. I personally wouldn't mind a few more guys on the thread. Although, I must say..you women know your sports. Your husbands must love you.

As a matter of fact he DOES!! :rotfl2: My love of college football may have something to do with it. :cheer2: Will have to ask him.

Actually, Jordan, my DH has been known to lurk on these boards and does post occasionally. He usually gets more into it closer to cruise time - like the last couple of weeks.

Wow - the models are predicting anywhere from Tampa to Ft Myers....which we are smack in the middle of.....I am so worried.....we are so close to the Gulf we would be demolished if it hit us. :(

Ok guys....I need distraction.

I guess I should not worry til Wilma hits the Gulf....because then it's pretty much anyones game.....

and funny you should mention about our DH's loving us football loving wives...a gentleman in my office and I got to talking...and happens we both love Van Halen....but he does not like sports???? HUH?? anyway - he said god, your husband must love you....and I said well I really love him since aside from the Raiders we have much in common.

It's funny, I grew up with my Grandparents for the most part and my GF LOVED hockey...so really that is my first love. He died before the Tampa reality came to light....but he was president of the FL Oldtimers Hockey Assc. It is such a NON Fl sport!! My brother went to FSU, my sis wants to go to UM and I went to UF....all in one family!!

OK, now only 45 minutes til the next hurricane update......

Samantha is finally in bed, Haley has been there for a while, DH and I are watching the baseball game (while I am on the computer!)

WILMA~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vanessa, we do have you and all our Gulf friends in our prayers. Enough already with the hurricanes this year! :worried:

Watching the baseball game too - after getting home late from a school board meeting.

My DW is the lurker on these boards. Every once in a while she will post something under my ID. But, she loves sports almost as much as I do. We both went to the same HS here in Football town USA, Canton, OH (Not at the same time, I actually went to school with her older sister).

We have season tickets for our old HS - Canton McKinley, for both football and basketball, and have had them almost since we got married. We also get season tickets for the HS our son graduated from in both sports, and we attend as many games of both as we can.

We also have a 20 game package for the Cleveland Indians, and Cleveland Browns Season Tickets. Sports (along with Disney) is our entertainment and passion, and other than something I might really want to watch, about the only thing I watch on TV anymore . . .

Our older son, who is in college, is just as much a sports fan as we are. He is coming home each weekend the next two weekends for Canton McKinley games - next weekend is the heated rivalry Massillon-McKinley game, and it looks like both teams will be undefeated heading into it, and headed to the playoffs. McKinley was runner up in the Ohio big school division in Football last year, and state champs in Basketball last year. There should be about 22,000 at the Massillon-McKinley game at the same stadium you see for the annual football Hall of Fame game - which was our High School stadium.

It's in the water around here.

We hope you are kept safe Vanessa, and pray for you and all our friends in the South as you suffer through a terrible year. We were actually in NC for Hurricane Bertha (on vacation in 1999 - and unknowingly at that time near Lisa) and I can tell you it was no fun . . .

John

John - my John would be so jealous!! Actually his cousins have seasons tix to the Browns and Indians as well....my DH's Aunt was a HUGE fan of both .....has her name in brick at the Indians stadium...etc....

My Dh was born in Ashtabula....and I think Geneva on the Lake is momentus for the Outlawz....we came up the year we got married 2000....and it was around 4th of July....
I fell in LOVE with the JAKE...but we had to buy jackets!!

Anyway - the Cards!!

David Eckstein and I went to UF together!!! I can't even tell you how many classes I skipped "studying" at the ball field.....:) It makes me happy to see where he is today......

Come on CARDS!! No no....Astros!!

No, to me it doesn't matter except my Dad is a VP for Budweiser in Houston and would so get us tix for at least one World Series Game if the Astros win!! :)

Hope that you stay out of harm's way, Vanessa. I have been so busy that I didn't even realize that Wilma had gone so crazy until tonight when I checked email & saw your post. :(

sry I was reffering to Vanessa. I thought I put her name. oops I didn't though my bad.

Vanessa please keep us posted on how you & your family are holding up.
You need a :grouphug: Be safe!

Diana

The Ducks lost AGAIN tonight. It looks like it's going to be a long season. Better to have bad hockey than no hockey at all.

Cruise is coming up fast....can you picture sitting in a lounge chair and enjoying the sun......can't wait.

Vanessa, Stay safe. I hope Wilma misses you! Keep us up to date. :grouphug:

:sad1: Well, we did NOT win the 340 million powerball. :sad1: But someone in Oregon did, so just maybe it is a friend or relative......
