I have done a lot of research and have been to Disney twice before. I'm looking for input from women who have been, thoughts on the precaution signs ect. After examining the list of not recommended for pregnant women list I have come to the conclusion that a few of the listed would be okay. Ones I believe should be okay off the list ( tell me your thoughts ) - Tomorrowland Indy Speedway- Kali River Rapids - Safari The rest I have decided are to jerky/risky. Input? Experience? I will be visiting Magic kingdom Mgm Epcot Animal kingdom Universal Any particular rides I should know about not listed online .

If I recall correctly, the rides that pose a danger to expecting women are marked with a warning. I would think that anything with a height restriction will most likely be off your list. You may have better luck posting on the family board as you are going to get more first hand info from the people there.

You really need to discuss this with your doctor who knows you and your pregnancy not internet strangers. I would not chance anything with a warning, period, but I have had multiple miscarrages and fertility treatments so my level of comfort is lower than most.

The issue with the speedway is some lousy driver behind may bang into you. I personally would be fine with Kali and the Safari at 12 weeks (I would just sit closer to the front).

Our last ride on the Safari (in April) it was - no joke - every bit as bumpy and jerky as Dinosaur. We have ridden it plenty of times and were rather astonished at how rough it was. After that experience, I wouldn't ride it pregnant, on the 1 in 50 chance I got a ride like that.

I am not one to chance it with ride warnings. Given how many rides Disney has *without* warnings, the risk does not seem worth it to me for a three-minute thrill. Others feel differently.

I looked at it this way- anything I *could* take an infant on, (not necessarily the same as what they let you- something like Soarin' would be ok) I could take a pre-birth infant on. If you are low risk, this is probably an idea worth sharing with your OB for their input. Mine smiled and nodded.
Verify with your OB, but a lot of times there is a section toward the early middle of pregnancy (12 weeks is right there) where things are a little easier to get away with. This doesn't mean to handcuff yourself to expedition everest, but within reason. The little guy is in there implanted but not so big that they jostle too much. So at 6 weeks or 36 weeks I wouldn't do the safari, but at 12 weeks in most cases you would be fine. Some people have a worse daily ride on their street than the safari. My pregnancies were high risk and everybody was ok with my using the "take an infant" rule.

I would ask your OB and go with their recommendations. If you're in doubt, skip it. Disney World isn't going anywhere and you can do the attractions you missed next time.

I've never done Kali (preg or not), wouldn't do Indy (getting bumped by other cars would bother me), and DID do the Safari, at 12.5 weeks and even almost 6 mo. preg. For the Safari, for sure ask for a front seat. I would do that with an infant too, as I was freaking out when my baby was on my lap in the back row and we were bumping along.
Other than that, avoid all thrill rides including Splash mtn.

Hope that helps!
