I'll never catch up - how do I try - when was the last time I read Wed morning, Tuesday night sigh....

Where am I writing from - The Apple Store. DD and I are going to eat at the Rainforest Cafe and we just had to stop in here. The new Red iPod Nano. Hmmm I got the pink one as a present for someone and I like the concept of the red giving $10. to charity. I like that - I heard that red project thing for Aids was coming but I had not heard when - I saw the english website. Anyway hmmm maybe I'll get a red ipod nano for me or maybe I'll exchange the pink one I purchased last week... Hmmm
I want I want I want..... :sad2:

I can't add my boo's yet - I can't hog the macbook in the apple store...

I can't believe that I am doing this...

DIS'ing from the Apple store . . . how sad . . . :sad2:

Maybe we could have a new contest, DIS'ing from the most unusual places, and the most places . . .

Some people price in unusual places, we all DIS!

Well, now that I have caught up I guess that I should tell you about our day. I don't think that I will be able to get thru it without crying though. Woke up to the kids arguing...what's new? DS insisted that it was warm outside and refused to wear the sweat pants that I brought downstairs for him. It was 45 at the time. He opened the front door & with the sun shining down on him declared that it was warm enough...wouldn't listen to the fact that we were going to an open field with nothing to break the wind. Whatever...freeze your tush off then! We got there & within a minute he came over to me and said that I was right & he was cold. Lucky for him I put the pants in the van. OY! By the 4th quarter they were both taking the ls shirts off that were under their tshirts. DS scored a goal!!!! Seconds after the game reality hit & my day became a migraine.

DS & DD were talking with a friend while I talked to her mom getting the latest scoop on the AG teacher issue at school. One second DD was hugging their friend & the next DS is screaming and she has bitten his wrist breaking skin so that he was bleeding!!!! Yes, it was just a speck that was bleeding but STILL!!!! I excused us, grabbed DD by the wrist & marched her to the van. Crying kids on the way home....DS because his wrist hurt...with good reason...and DD because she wouldn't go to McD's for lunch as is our game day tradition. How I wish that this had been stuck to. :rolleyes1

This weekend is the biggest festival in town & we ALWAYS go to it. I brought the kid's change of clothes down & told DS to get into his right away so that he could go with daddy. The plan was I would be stuck at the house with DD while DS was treated to lunch out with daddy & an afternoon at the festival. She deserved to miss out on it. They both got in the van & then DH came back inside to get DD. OY! :sad2: I had to change quickly & we were off to lunch then downtown. The afternoon was pretty good considering that getting there that late we had to park a long way from the action & we don't keep the stroller in the car anymore. DH & I took turns carrying DD so she wouldn't get worn out before we got there. We watched the BMX tour show....which DS LOVED. I got some cool pics for him. A couple of their friends came over during the warm up & sat with us. We have known them since DS & the oldest were 2 in PS together. :) DH brought back a funnel cake and the four of them shared it....then their parents brought over a huge plate of butterfly chip fries which didn't last too long either. After that we went to the percussion petting zoo. This was a big tent with lots of percussion instruments set up on tables and the kids could do whatever they wanted. We stayed for the show & the kids both loved participating with the tambourines, bongo drums, and the maracas.

By this point it was time to head home. DD again got carried to the car so that didn't wear her out. We got thru dinner & DS going outside to play with his friends since he had been so good. You would THINK that DD would be happy that her sentence of spending the day inside the house had been changed to let her have a fun afternoon...wouldn't you? You would THINK that she would be on her best behavior....maybe? Well, you would be wrong. I was just signing onto the computer and loading the pictures from the game & festival today when she walked over to me. She said something that I didn't understand so I asked "What sweetheart?" The next thing I knew I had been slapped hard on the face with her finger poking me in the eye. DH was on her case in a second before I could even say anything & her butt was in her room. She went to bed early with no desert.

I am feeling like a total failure right now. Maybe some of this is PMS...sorry guys...but what have I done that has made my sweet little girl turn into this? We haven't let her hit DS without being punished. This is just so beyond that!!! Lately she has been extremely sassy and backtalking around DH & myself. NOTHING seems to work to stop it. Today she threw things across the room at DH .... I think that they were some small dinos that she was playing with.

On the otherhand, I can't help but wonder how much this kid in her class is affecting her. She has told me that he throws things in class and he hit a boy in the nose Friday which made his nose bleed. He can't be that respectful to anyone if he is doing this stuff along with picking up chairs. :confused3 Maybe this is really stressing her out more than I thought? She is whiney and fussy from the second she gets off the bus & has been for at least a week. She doesn't want to go to school. This morning before the game she was doing some silly walk and when I questioned her about it she said that this boy does that sometimes. Maybe she sees him doing this & doesn't see anything being done so she has decided that it is ok? IDK what to think. I don't want to push this off on someone else but at the same time I have to wonder how it could affect a child being in that situation. I am wondering if I should talk to the school counselor about this & see if she can talk to DD & help her. Then I have to wonder about how other kids in the class are reacting to this.

My kids at CC!

Nope! Those are MY kids! LOL! Actually, CC is the one place we can go & they both seem to get along. Something about building a castle or digging a huge swimming pool in the sand brings harmony. :thumbsup2

:rotfl2: Thanks! I really needed that one! :lmao:

Lisa, :grouphug: I'm so sorry you're going through this with DD. I think we all go through things that make us wonder why are kids are doing what they're doing but a lot of the time it just turns out to be a phase. Don't blame yourself, kids have different ways of expressing their own frustrations and worries.

It can't hurt to talk to the school counselor. It may be a big help to her and may give you more insight. She may open up to him/her in a way that you haven't been able to get her to do for you.

I was trying to set a book mark to find where I left off because I keep replying when I saw the lobsters. You guys make it very difficult for me to keep focused. I then I to try to find the original message which led to the lobster but I can't find it easliy because I am so far behind with the last time I book marked and know it was in the working zone not reading dis. ARGHHHHHHHH I'm so lost.

On the lobster note though - I hate them. I'm also allergic to shellfish. I do like crabcakes - very allergic though so I can't eat them unless I want to die. :confused3 Try living in New England hating fish, and lobster. I also don't know why you dip a bland tasting thing in hot butter. I have to take all vistors to Legal Seafoods, Turners or Skipjacks. Gag, gag, gag. Funny thing when I was a kid I loved steamers and scallops. Now you couldn't pay me to eat them.

Hope you saw Carla that I hate and do not eat any kind of seafood. No allergies - just don't like the stuff!

We do think Amy is allergic to shellfish though. We had a scare one year in a restaurant at the OBX.

Lisa from working with kids... It would seem that she might be imitating the boy as an experiment because he probably gets ALOT of attention everytime he acts out......Just don't give her the expected response JMHO You r a great mommy

well - we just got home from what I thought was our last football game. NOT! Apparently the next team's coach (moving up in age and weight) brings a few select "smurf" guys up at the end of the season to train with the team, learn their techniques and go to the playoff games with them. Both my boys were chosen. Very honored...very proud of them....but not looking forward to the continuation of what has been a difficult season with homework and juggling everyone's schedule. My boys were on :cloud9:

Proud mom...signing off..
hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday!!

Hugs. K

Cool Karen! Congrats!

Lisa - I think DD is very sensitive and astute. I remember you mentioned that she took it very hard when DH was away.

She is poking you in the eye to make sure you hear her - I would definitely have the school psychologist talk to her. She needs someone to discuss her fears with and find a coping strategy for dealing with this stress. It also wouldn't hurt to have the counselor know that this classroom situation is being acted out at home - I'm sure she can't be the only one. Maybe this will light a fire under them to resolve this child's status.

Kids act out to say I am afraid, I'm in pain - keep me safe. Tell her that you are happy that she let you know how she is feeling and maybe show her a more appropriate way of conveying it to you. Have you reviewed a plan with her for her personal safety in this classroom? - that might empower her to know she has options.

This sounds like it is building up to a serious injury - maybe the parents need to press a little harder. It seems to me that given the circumstances the parents should have been informed that someone received a nose bleed from this child.

It's hard to go about business as usual with this stressful classroom issue. Why should she be good if he doesn't have to be?

I hope you have some good news soon.

now, if only I could identify which state was which without having to look at an atlas - I would have some guesses as to which dot was associated with which DIS'er. Lisa - maybe William could help me with this.

I can see mine since I am the only one in upstate NY. LOL.

Hopefully Becka is at work right now on those links to the bio and screenname :rolleyes1
