Warning - irate mom logged in...with wine in hand!

I wish I could share the weeks of details...but basically, my son's 3rd grade teacher is just not a good teacher. Straight A students, like my son, are now getting Fs....she doesn't finish a chapter and gives them tests..she says a test is on one day and moves the test without telling students or parents. This week, she schedule a test on Wed. She "ran out of time" and didn't get to it so it was supposed to be rescheduled for tomorrow. There were already 2 other tests scheduled for tomorrow. That makes 3 tests on one night for a 3rd grader.

My DS hands me his backpack and heads to football practice and their team pizza party. I open the backpack and there isn't a single book inside. !!!!! INSERT STEAM RISING OFF MOM'S HEAD SMILIE!!!! I'm irate. I'm ready to drag him out of that pizza party that he earned and drag him home to give him a speech about responsibility and the importance of studying...so he can get a good job and read the Dis boards all day (yes, I can still joke!). I speak to a friend who was at the school...got a janitor to open the classroom...she got my DS's books..so...okay..now we have to study...but I'm still so disappointed in my son.

THEN...and this is why the wine was opened I get 2 calls from 2 other irate parents...who tell me that of the 3 tests that were scheduled...their kids are telling them there will be NO TESTS tomorrow. Huh?!!! I mean - okay, nice. But what kind of a teacher is this???? Thank God for other parents! Here I was about to chew into my little innocent child b/c I have no idea there were no tests. I am so grateful that these parents called me.

.....just to add...for the last month and a half....8 families have had meetings with the teacher...me included. My meeting was with the teacher and the principal who is now observing in the classroom b/c there have been so many complaints.

....AND .... this is a teacher who supposedly has 18 years of experience but has only been at our school for 1 year and last year she taught 6th grade but there were so many complaints, they moved her to 3rd grade.

Have I told you guys lately how glad I am that you're here?!!

That stinks. I am so sorry your DS has a lousy teacher. It really is a shame that every profession has a few bad apples and your DS is stuck with one!

Here's the big achievement in our house for the day: DS is finally willing to pull down his own pants/underwear. (Potty training is great, but he was being lazy and expecting a personal attendant each trip). Slowly stepping closer to fully prepared for the club on the cruise!

My DS was the exact same way!!!! Don't worry he will go by himself soon!

Oh, he kept it pointed in the potty every time today (sometimes other areas are sprayed instead)

And just when you think they have it down pat...they go to preschool and "forget" to pull up their shirt and create a huge mess!!!!! But at least he did well today!

Maybe I can make you guys laugh a little. At dinner DD has her sippy cup and she pushes it where it starts to roll off the end. I stand up and reach over to try to get it but it falls in the chair. I then walk around to the chair and lean over to pick it up when my foot hits the bottom of the chair and I tip forward. My hand then slips off the cup and jams right in the back of the chair with two of my fingers going directions that God did not intend. I keep falling and end up slamming my forearm into the back of the chair and just about spin around and fall right into the window. It all happened in about 2 seconds and I can assure you I was quite graceful!

It apparently looked so scary that DD started to cry and it took me almost a minute trying to calm her down and assure her I was OK all the while I was trying not to hop around screaming "Ow ow ow ow ow..." because I didn't want to scare her anymore than she already was.

I am such a klutz!

Glad you are okay...but my dear....you are so my twin!!! I am a total klutz! My DH said that my middle name should have been Grace because I am lacking in that area!!!!!

That will be me tomorrow night!!!! We have a babysitter for overnight. We are going out with 2 other couples...we all have overnight sitters! We are going out to dinner than back to our friends house for some cards....and neither DH or I have to drive! Look out!!!!
