ROAD TRIP!

My DW says that she thinks it would be a nice trip so we are going to travel up to Knoebels on Saturday. We should leave about 7AM and be there around 10AM (unless I see too many covered bridges and fall trees to photograph). Thanks for all the encouragement to do this.

What time is everyone going to meet and where?

Also, the DISDog is coming on the trip. His first amusement park.

This is gonna be fun!!

My DC is still in the hospital. She will be there for at least one more day. She is S L O W L Y getting better. I really appreciate all of the prayers. She does as well. We are still waiting to hear what was wrong with that cat.

Brandi, I am so glad to hear that she is improving, and I'm praying that her recovery will speed up!

you know Ohio does have one of the most complex and least efficient way of funding schools. Our school district has been a blue ribbon for many years. we have only had 1 levy fail in the past 30 years. my DH & I went to school in our district and we moved here because we know the district and really like it. we fight with the "non school" age homeowners every time a levy comes up. my DH parent's don't think it is necessary to keep funding the schools. I have problems funding parks instead of schools. we just opened a new middle school five years ago. My dd just attended the last two years. the school is awesome. I wish they would build a new up to date high school. the technology at the middle school is so much better than at the high schools.

I could write you a book. I am actually involved in a state-wide effort to change school funding. You may see a Constitutional amendment on the ballot in November 2007. I started a county-wide grass roots movement of school board members to address the issue, and we are having a candidate's night for state office holders at our new High School next Monday night.

How do you like the fresh new ideas of the candidates. Sell or lease the turnpike to pay for schools, or we can put in gambling in Cleveland to pay for our colleges. Our politicians in Ohio are for the most part spineless or self serving dolts who don't care about the future (our kids). The only future they care about is the next election.

Oh, and I know I am a politician as a school board member, and as I keep telling people when they don't like what I have to say - Make my day, vote for someone else, and you will make my wife a happier woman!

Hi everyone! Is it too late to join this group?

We just booked this cruise after our plans changed for doing the August 2007 repo. We're a family of 4 -- two boys, ages 10 & 7.

We have some big life changes coming (DH is starting his own company), so this might be one of our last vacations for a while. Had to use that repo deposit somewhere....figured sooner was better than later!

Anyway, looking forward to a fun double dip, seeing The Flying Dutchman and meeting some great DIS'ers!

Goodie, goodie, goodie!! More people!! I hope no one scared them away yet!

I just sent the professor of my last needed masters class an e-mail. This is class #10. This is an online class. The other 9 were "real" classes, held in a building. I had 2 assignments and I got a 100% on the first 2. Tonight I took a 10 question quiz. I got a 60%!!!!! I don't think I have EVER failed anything school related in my life. I am freaking out! It is only a small part of my grade but my GPA to this point is a 4.0. I really like that...I REALLY want to graduate with a perfect 4.0!!!!

The part that has me so mad is that only 1 of the 4 missed questions I could confirm I answered it wrong...duh on my part. The other 3 I question. One of them I found a word for word sentence contradicting what the prof graded as wrong. The other 2 I could not even find referenced on the site we were supposed to use. How fair is asking 2 questions that are not even referenced on the site!

I am still fuming about this. I took the dumb thing at 7 tonight and I am still hot!!! I was upset and crying earlier...now I am MAD!

Sometimes I think it is horrible to be a type A personality. I am also a stinking Virgo perfectionist! I will drive myself crazy!
