The only problem I have heard with Volvo is that once you get one you can never, ever get rid of it because they just run forever and ever. Or at least that was the case in the 80's - still see alot of those boxy things on the road! No new car ever again, you just have to keep driving that Volvo and cannot justify getting rid of it! Is that still true, John1?

John, I have always liked the saftey of volvo's but I have to laugh every time I hear it because my Aunt had on and every time people asked her what kind of car she had she would say vulva. Not intentionally, she just kept getting it mixed up. She had to sell it because it was so embarassing for her. Seriously!!!

For the GA watches, be sure the watch next week's episode it returns to the familiar fun and angst of last season, yea! If I had not cheated and watched on the Buffalo channel, then I would have missed the first episode entirely, thank you all for being a bad influence on me, lol.

Pj

I forgot to tell you that she would also tell her boys to go get the vulva out of the garage etc.... It was really almost comical.

Welcome to my very small crowd, Kim! :happytv:
Other than about 5 minutes last night, I'm still in your "haven't watched GA" club. I had a lot of questions this morning, but still haven't made the commitment to watch it.

also, I see in my own pictures the water looks "bluer"....instead of reg white/cream color marcite this is a "colored" pebbletec intended to change the water color. REALLY, the only reson we went with it was the fact it was lifetime warrantied for only $500 more. In person it makes it look green.....I'm so sorry to be complaining. and at this point I am just ready to be done...but we have spent SO much money on this and I feel it isn't up to standard. How do you know when you are just being picky? I feel a paver with a complete cracked line in it is unacceptable but what do I know?
I think for the money and time you put into this it should be RIGHT, absolutely perfectly right! I don't think you are too picky.

seeing that brand new still shiny tattoo makes my stomach flip. I have a very very very low tolerance for pain. I think a MIckey tattoo would be neat...but not on me.
Nope, no tattoos for me or DrHug.

What am I still doing awake? UGH! Good night all!
You are up to your old tricks again. You need to get to bed or we will have to send drugs your way! ;)

And that's enough for me for tonight. Nyquil and bed. Still struggling with Allie's cold. ;)

I have replaced the list of requests to link dining with the dining assignments. We do not know our table numbers at this time. Each server section has a table for 4, 6, & 8. Everyone has been divided trying to take into account the ages of the children. In some cases the party size had the final say.

You are such a dear Lisa!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Well, today was kind of yucky for me so I went back to bed after taking the kids to school & a quick trip to the store. I tidied up the bedrooms and put the laundry away that I worked on yesterday. One bad day a month can't be complained about too much though.

Hope you are feeling better. :grouphug:

We just have been losing business to WalMart, and other non-union competition. They have the ability to have MUCH lower labor costs because they are new stores, with mostly new (lower wages when new) people, and lower benefit costs. They also have huge new stores, and a perception if not reality of lower price.

Our area is depressed in jobs due to the closing of several plants, so things are tight for lots of people, and they are trying to stretch every dollar. Our latest contract with the union realized what is happening and gave us the opportunity to reduce our Full-time workforce.

Ours were a surprise to everyone. We have not laid anyone off like this in 73 years of doing business.

Hopefully, this will save the other 800 jobs, and that is how I get to sleep at night. I still detest doing it though.

John1
John, I realize that this isn't easy for you. This is not your fault, you just have the unfortunate job of having to pass this on to people. It is happening all over the place. I have said prayers for you to have strength through these tough times. I hope today is a little better. :grouphug:

O.k. So I had a bad morning with the boys, then after they left I was just kind of frumpy. Then the nightmare came. Oh I mean they came home from school. They were horrid. They were ready to drive me to drink. (They did later) So I called DH and told him I was finding a sitter and he was taking me out. So when he got home we went to his fav. rest. GO FIGURE. He was in such a good mood it made me sick. He could not do anything to make me smile. He even said when we were done we were walking around the block to the park and we were going to swing no mater what. Nothing no smile only a pout that I wanted to go home. :guilty:
