Morning Brandi!

I'm off to work...see you all in a little bit!

Happy Thursday!
Good Morning Karen! I hope you have a rockin' day! :rockband:

My DSIL is about to pop...she is VERY pregnant. Her first 2 children flew out at lightening speed. She literally did not push at all with #2. The doctors told her that she will be induced because they are afraid if she goes into labor at home she won't make it to the hospital. At her visit last Thursday they DR. said that if she were 2 more days along they would have induced labor. She goes today....I think today will be baby day!!!!!!!

I may be at the hospital tonight. I am sure I will be back by 9:00 ;) . I am excited and nervous for her.

I currently have 4 neices all under 4. DBrother and his Preggy wife are working on 3 and my DH's sister and her DH have 2. DId ya get all that?

Anyway this will be the first boy! (other than my son, who obviously isn't my nephew...)

Sorry for the ramble.

Great Lisa!

Hey Jodie - looks like whatshisname just got his first button!
Come on, let's just give him a button that says "whatshisname". Grooms tend to feel that way by the wedding anyway.

Jodie, I can't believe you invited us! :) You really are brave. LOL! How can you stand to not know what time the ceremony is?!?!?!??! How can you make your hair appointment & all if you don't know that? OY!

Disney almost has it where it is stress free....Yeah, like I really want to wait to find this out 2 weeks before the wedding? Then you got the dinner plans, etc. etc. etc.......I am a freak about details and planning. This is what I do all day at work. I arrange all the programs and special events for the community......I'm a planner, and I have to know EVERYTHING! I think the wedding planners about to throw me overboard :rotfl:

Jodie,
As long as you are online catching up, I would like to clear up one thing other than DH2B's name.

How many people are you bringing? Is it 15 plus you two makes 17 or, 13 plus you two makes 15? I was just wondering.

Also, did you notice how I finally learned how to spell your name? :Pinkbounc

what if it requires dry cleaning? or does everyone use Dryel?

When i lived in PA, dry cleaning required a 2nd mortgage. ($8-10 a piece for womens dresses or jackets)

Here in MD, there is such a high demand that we have decent places that charge $0.99 - $1.09 per shirt and $1.97 for any other garment. (for a buck, i'll let them iron/starch any shirt they want.)

Sharign with all of you...

The Price of Children

This is just too good not to pass on to all. Something absolutely positive for a change. I have repeatedly seen the breakdown of the cost of raising a child, but this is the first time I have seen the rewards listed this way. It's nice.

The government recently calculated the cost of raising a child from birth to 18 and came up with $160,140 for a middle income family. Talk about sticker shock! That doesn't even touch college tuition.

But $160,140 isn't so bad if you break it down. It translates into:

* $8,896.66 a year,

* $741.38 a mo nth, or
* $171.08 a week.
* That's a mere $24.24 a day!
* Just over a dollar an hour.

Still, you might think the best financial advice is don't have children if you want to be "rich." Actually, it is just the opposite. What do you get for your $160,140?
* Naming rights. First, middle, and last!
* Glimpses of God every day.
* Giggles under the covers every night.
* More love than your heart can hold.
* Butterfly kisses and Velcro hugs.
* Endless wonder over rocks, ants, clouds, and warm cookies.
* A hand to hold, usually covered with jelly or chocolate.
* A partner for blowing bubbles, flying kites
* Someone to laugh yourself silly with, no matter what the boss said or how your stocks performed that day.

For $160,140, you never have to grow up. You get to:

* finger-paint,
* carve pumpkins,
* play hide-and-seek,
* catch lightning bugs, and
* never stop believing in Santa Claus.

You have an excuse to:
* keep reading the Adventures of Piglet and Pooh,
* watching Saturday mo rning cartoons,
* going to Disney mo vies, and
* wishing on stars.
* You get to frame rainbows, hearts, and flowers under refrigerator magnets and collect spray painted noodle wreaths for Christmas, hand prints set in clay or Mother's Day, and cards with backward letters for Father's Day.

For $160,140, there is no greater bang for your buck. You get to be a hero just for:
* retrieving a Frisbee off the garage roof,
* taking the training wheels off a bike,
* removing a splinter,
* filling a wading pool,
* coaxing a wad of gum out of bangs, and coaching a baseball team that never wins but always gets treated to ice cream regardless.

You get a front row seat to history to witness the:
* first step,
* first word,
* first bra,
* first date, and
* first time behind the wheel.

You get to be immortal. You get another branch added to your family tree, and if you're lucky, a long list of limbs in your obituary called grandchildren and great grandchildren. You get an education in psychology, nursing, criminal justice, communications, and human sexuality that no college can match.

In the eyes of a child, you rank right up there under God. You have all the power to heal a boo-boo, scare away the mo nsters under the bed, patch a broken heart, police a slumber party, ground them forever, and love them without limits, So . one day they will, like you, love without counting the cost. That is quite a deal for the price!!!!!!!

Love & enjoy your children & grandchildren!!!!!!!

OK, question for you GA people:
(I'm not a GA watcher, sorry. I can only annoy DH with one crappy medical drama - as in poorly written medical situations-, and I'm sticking with ER until death.)
But I did tune in for a couple of minutes last night. The group was getting chewed out about stealing an organ for someone and no one would admit to it. Did they just do a transplant without having to follow any rules?!! (yes, I understand that it's A TV SHOW.) AAAAARGHHHH.

Quick synopsis:
No their was a guy who needed a heart transplant. The one resident "Izzy" fell in love with the guy (reality check here!!) and there was a heart that became available for transplant. She figured if she made his condition worse, he would move to the top of the list for the heart.

Basically ---- by her cuting his LVAP (???) cord, she made his condition worse and he moved up on the list and got his heart transplant.

Had she not done that, he probably wouldn't have gotten the heart...hence her actions created the stealing of the organ b/c another person really should have gotten it.

Does that help?

Oh and b/c the whole group of them are close friends....they all stuck together and wouldn't admit who cut the wires...but everyone reallly knew who did it.

Did you see last night's recap? I won't ruin it if you want to see what happens.

Thanks, Karen.
I'm guessing it was an LVAD (left ventricular assist device).
Still unrealistic medicine, but better than me thinking they just made a heart transplant decision within the hospital.
DH would go crazy or simply leave the room shaking his head (like he does with ER.)

Sure, give me the recap. All of the GA fans and the peer pressure will just pull me into that show, too!
