I went to the kids section to see what the JBJ books are all about, us Aunts need to be up to date on these things. So, could not find anything, help! Author? Age Group?

Ps. this is the way I got started on the HP books, now I am waiting for the last one with bated breath. She needs to get that book out soon or she may lose fans. I know it is coming next year, maybe, but it has been a long wait.

The author is Barbara Park. The Junie B. Jones series is for K-3rd.

DD enjoyed her first soccer practice today. After screaming that she didn't want to go I told her point blank that if she wants to play in the game on Saturday she had to go to the practice so that she knew who her coach was & who is on her team. She LOVED it!!! :)

Now for DS....I was busy paying attention to DD's practice on one side of the field and figured that DS could handle things on his own. There were lots of extra kids there tonight who didn't show up Monday or Tuesday though. I looked over to see one new kid chopping DS on the back...or I thought that he was just pretending to. After watching him do this for a minute I got up to see better & he WAS hitting DS. He turned around & told him to stop it because it hurt. The "coach" (adult who offered to be with them tonight) wasn't saying anything so I told the kid to knock it off. I had to go over twice more. He was jumping on DS's back the last time. I SWEAR!!!! Not a single person other than myself approached this kid to tell him to stop. :furious: After the third time I went to the director & told him that DS HAD to be moved because I was not going to tollerate him being hit on three days a week with noone doing anything about it. He said that he would move him after the practice. I am glad that I waited because I FINALLY figured out who the mother was. Her DD was on my DD's team and she told another mom that she was going to ask for them to be switched to the same team. :rolleyes1 Hello, you want your son switched to your DD's team? Well, my DD would do better with my son & their friend so they can just trade places. :joker:

So now tomorrow everything will be ok. WHEW! The boy is only 6 yo but obviously has behavioral issues. :(

ROFL! DH saw the goggles that I picked up for DD at Target and asked if they had more. Guess that I need to go back. :)

The best part about having soccer practice 5:30-6:30??? The kids are too worn out to bicker or even move. LOL! DD is watching HP3 on the floor & she wont make it until 8. :lmao: I LIKE SOCCER!!!

OK, DD is still awake enough to ask for ice cream. :lmao: We might have to go until 8:30 with the light stuff.

I hear you loud and clear Lisa!!

What brat (it sounds like), hopefully William won't have to deal with that again. Glad kaitlyn had a great time!! I'd love to see pics of those shoes!!

I got to go to the Welcome Back picnic at DS3's preschool. It's strange at preschool events with most people having all young kids and here I am with an almost 13-year-old!

And I had to make sure DS didn't push anyone or hit anyone!!

Karen - thanks for the advice about the PTA - it's all new to me but I did notice the same 5 or 6 names on every committee list. People just need to know how little time they really need to contribute to make a difference. It's too bad they don't take the trouble to find out.

good luck with your event tomorrow. Now I know who I cant contact about PTA woes!! LOL.

My hubby is a red head and I always liked red heads. I used to have my girlfriends in college scout them out for me and I dated several.

My sister is a red head too - I don't remember her ever mentioning that she got hassled about it - but anything different. We actually called her RED.

that's wonderful! :cool1: - but - what about you? :grouphug:
Every year - not just the first - I BAWLED  all the way home after dropping off my little one!!

I can't answer all of these old posts but this one I had to add my story.

When I took my DS to college instead of just dropping him off and going home we stayed for three days to "help settle him in". At every meal I would just cry until my DW finally told me to get in the car 'cause we were going home! She took me home that day.

I still cry when we leave him. BTW he's 33yo!
