Well they are predicting BIG storms for us here later this afternoon/evening. Large, long-track tornados, tennis ball or larger hail, lots of lightening and dangerous wind. I HATE storms this big. They make me nervous and I always worry about protecting my kids. You just feel so helpless.....

Think good thoughts for us here this afternoon/evening. I hope they skip over us.

Maybe I am just cynical...but the kids that do thier homework will continue to do their homework. The kids that don't do their homework....will stay after school and do it. I am not saying that is a bad thing...but the kids who don't do their HW are usually the kids with no one at home. No one will miss them not being there and if they are forced to stay after...then that is just extra free babysitting time for the parents. Again, I am cynical after a few years in the system. Some parents will work any angle they can.

I have to agree with you here Brandi. What's wrong with teaching kids responsibility? When DS forgot his folder at home...he had to flip a card. It was not the end of the world but he got a 2 for conduct that day. He hasn't forgotten it since. It is his responsibility to make sure his homework is in his backpack before he goes to bed.

PPS. I watched on a Canadian Network, unlike an affilate. I get both the Canadian network, CTV, and the Buffalo affilate boardcasts. The network buys right to air shows from the American based networks, but must also show a % of Canadian developed and produced programming each week.

Welcome Shelley I am also new to the group, jump right in!

I got my wedding shoes in the mail yesterday and they are too big So, I went online and ordered the size smaller and hopefully they will be here before the first fitting, which is in two weeks. The shoes are special ordered and they take 2 - 3 weeks to get here....

Becka, Hope the weather goes around your home and that your family stays safe.

Lisa, How would we go about joining in on the dining rotation? I think that's the one we wanted and would be great to join everyone....we have 16 in our party though....

DD wants to see the baby cows.... 12 calves have been born there since the opened last week.

I think i have a FFA. (yeah she fits right in in our county, especially since she smells like a horse two days a week.)

I LOVE calves too! We used to have a neighbor who ran cattle in our pasture. One year we had six babies at one time! It was so awesome to watch to moms with the babies. They have a real social system, they even set up daycare. They would get all 6 calves in a corner of the pasture, two moms would watch them while the others went off to graze, then they would switch off! Really, really cool. I would sit on the deck and watch them for hours. They also would let the "children" cows investigate the new babies, but Boy! if the "adolescent" cows got near the moms would butt them away.

That neighbor passed away a few years ago and now the pasture is just empty, wasted....

No will be artificial. (but DH is a worry wort about TSA pulling our bag or something.)

We have flown plastic pirate swords and rifles home from WDW. TSA said "don't worry about it we have seen those before" when I told them what was in our luggage.

This reminds me of the time we went to a conference in New Orleans and we brough HUNDREDS of necklaces in our chapters colors to throw out during our conference. HUNDREDS OF BEADS!!! DOES ANYONE (besides me) KNOW HOW HEAVY THOSE SUCKERS ARE?!!!

Nope, but I think I'm gonna find out. Beads are my treat for this trip.

Heading back to the couch to nurse this cold for another couple of hours. I'm hoping to feel well enough to go to a b-b-q with DD tomorrow evening. She has some friends that are "old like Dad and I" that pick and grin together every once in awhile. They are getting together tomorrow evening and she really wants Dad to go play with them and sing with her. She has started singing in a local bar/pub with some of them a couple nights a week. Funny neither DrHug nor I have ever heard her sing. Talk about bad parents!!

BTW : I need help. DH is afraid to pack swords/daggers in our luggage for the plane. Is there someone driving to the port who would be willing to bring one if i send (mail) it to you? Yes i know i could mail to port, but i'm afraid if it didn't make it.
