Honestly after doing this three times, it is better for us to rest Friday night before the cruise. We like to get to the terminal at 10 am when it opens to soak up all the Magic that we can so we need to be in the car by 9 am. The only reason I am interested in going to JRs that night is because so many of the mods from the board will be there so this will be a rare chance for me to meet the people I have been working with...which is really neat. :)

I'm thinking the same thing (knowing me) - I want to be at the terminal early, too.

good idea on the stickers - that same son just came in (with 1 hr to get ready for football practice and needs to search the internet for info for an oral presentation tomorrow!!! this will NOT happen again I told him!!)

dry erase boards....uh oh - was I supposed to get those?? I mentioned some at target earlier this summer

Does any of this make any sense? Did most of you fall asleep before you reached the end? ;) Any opinions, advice? Does someone have a safehouse for me? Are all of you frantically PM’ing Lisa to make sure you are not seated with us for dinner and making plans to put your kids in the Club at times my DS is not there?

Hey Becka, I read the whole thing! :wave2: And my kids will be happy to play with your son and they are not bullies (well as far as I know, who knows what they will come up with when I am not around!). I can see why you are so concerned and I just feel bad for you and your little guy. I am a little suprised that the teacher can't do more to help smooth things over; is she aware that the other kid is bullying/antagonizing your son? What a bad situation.

That is amazing that they were pushing each other over at 8 months, wow.

I am not much help but have 1 idea... have you considered trying to help him make good friends with some of the other kids... play dates outside of class with one other child at a time? Maybe one on one he can form a friendship that will help him in the classroom?

Sorry to do this everyone, but all I've done at work today was analyze numbers....soo.....for anyone who doubts we will hit 30,000 before the trip....have no doubts! We have a good chance to hit 30,000 and 40,000.

I think we have a good shot at 50,000 before the cruise!!!!

You guys know how much I love math so here are the numbers I came up with :teacher: : Note: All times are Central Time since that is where I live! ;)

I started with saying we have 90 days left until the cruise to post because I figure those last 24-48 hours we will not be posting much.

I wanted to see what our average was per day so I took a look at a 30 day period in the hopes that this would give us a good average. I selected from midnight on August 7th - 11:59 PM on September 6th.

At midnight on August 7th we were at post #12,010
At 11:59 PM on September 6th we were at post #21,049

We made 9,038 posts in that 30 day period which gives us an average of 301.27 posts/day.

As of 3:49 PM this afternoon we had 21,233 posts.

In order to reach the following milestones we need:

8,767 more posts to reach 30,000
18,767 more posts to reach 40,000
28,767 more posts to reach 50,000

Assumming the 90 days we figure we have left those milestones would require the following averages:

30,000 milestone: 8,767 posts / 90 days = 94.41 posts/day
40,000 milestone: 18,767 posts /90 days = 208.52 posts/day
50,000 milestone: 28,767 / 90 days = 319.63 posts/day

As you can see our current average of 301.27 posts/day is not that far away from the 319.63 posts per day needed to reach 50,000 right before we cruise. I think each of us can make a good effort to post just one extra time each day for the next 90 days to get us to our goal!!! :)

Did I make anyone's head hurt with all of that? :rotfl:

Gotta go get the kids. Hopefully it was a good day.

Just had to post one more time! ;)

Hey - where is everyone?

I got the kids. They both had decent days so we will count that as a :thumbsup2 . ;)

One of the little boys in DD's class turned 2 today so they had a little school party. The Dad of the little boy dressed up in an adult Elmo costume. DD loves Elmo but apparently she was absolutely petrified of Elmo when he came to their class. Yikes! She loved the characters last February and I hope that she was just scared this time because we were not there with her. She often takes her cues from how to react to something by watching how DS reacts. If he is excited for the characters then I am hoping she will be OK with them then.

We had rotessiere chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, salad and fruit salad for dinner tonight. I wanted scalloped potatoes but before I got home DH attempted to make them. He messed up the directions and forgot to put in the milk and the butter. Oops...so I made some of the boxed garlic mashed potatoes I had in the pantry. I didn't care for the potatoes but I figure they were probably better than the potatoes DH made! :rotfl:

DS was invited to another birthday party for a classmate for the weekend after this one. Apparently the 4/5 year old range is when a kid's social calendar really starts to fill up! :rotfl:

We are going to have some busy weekends coming up. We are trying to just figure out a weekend to get together with some friends of ours in Kansas City and we are having trouble figuring it out. It seems like every weekend between now and November we have something planned: MU Homecoming, Pumpkin Festival, St. Louis Zoo, another yard sale (just think of all the pricing ;)), etc.. Plus we need to fit in a weekend trip to visit DH's family and the visit to see our KC friends. On top of that every other weekend DH has his gaming stuff so that pretty much means we cannot go out of town those weekends and when we are in town Sunday is not available. It really becomes hard to fit things in then.

Well I gotta go get DD's bath ready...I will check in later. :)

No...you were just letting people know about them. This was in the posting frenzy while I was on my trip. I am thinking that it was Elizabeth but I don't know for sure.

Becka, you have to remember that the Characters at Disney know how to read kids to find out how they are responding to them & act accordingly. I doubt that this dad had any clue that he was upsetting anyone.

No several of the kids were scared but when he walked in DD started to cry and immediately ran screaming from him and hid in the corner and cried until he left. I don't think he could have missed it.

I really think we have better chances when we are all there because like I said she takes cues from DS and from us about if something is really scary. At school none of us were there. Of course there is no guarantee and if she is still terrified we will just have to change our plans to keep her away from them as much as possible.

That took maybe 5 minutes. :confused3 What took the longest was just going back to the previous date to find what post # we were on.

Besides I really love numbers. Number theory was my favorite class in college and I really should probably be in statistics or something. ;)

I can't wait for MVMCP....it will be a blast. Hopefully we'll run into John and Amy - I think they are going on Thursday night as well. Last year it was COLD!!

Yup, doing Thursday night - whether we run into you or not may depend on that cell phone of yours - did you get a new one?

Lisa - you should read this again . . .

The impression I got is that you and Mike are going to be pricing three times - so I am glad you will be keeping the noise down on Friday night.

Here's something interesting...
Karen's duct tape email and Kim's response went to my regular email folder. John1's response was automatically deflected to the junk mail folder. Hmmm. I haven't done anything to designate anyone any special way. Wonder how other DISers are filtered!

So I'm junk huh . . . . :confused3

Oh well, I've been called worse.
