elaineteresa said:Kim - can I ask your advice again about the facials? I see you mentioned that you are doing the marine facial. Would you recommend that I have an extraction/facial at home (sorry, I hope this isn't too gross)? Then do the marine facial on the ship. We have a very good local spa run by an Austrian woman - I live in the boonies.
Apparently there are several services that you can get done on the ship but don't appear on the list? Barb, from Platinum, is a spa queen and mentioned there is a Pamper package that is combined face, nails, pedi or something like that - she said you can ask for it even if it isn't posted.
Also, we are planning on doing the Catamaran sail on Cozumel - I think I talked hubby out of the diving.
thanks for your help.elaine
2 things. If you are doing an extraction, do it at least 2 weeks before the cruise for blotchy. Also, if you are changing climates, it may not matter. For me going from very dry to very wet just clogs my pores up something fierce. If you are going to the parks, your face will take a terrible beating and will need masking regardless. That being said, whenever I travel to another climate and expect high stress I always have a facial first, or give myself a mask. Bottom line, if you really want a very good response from the facial. Do the full extraction and deep cleansing facial 2 weeks before you leave.
I use elemis marine based products which is why I like the marine facial.
There are no salon treatments you can book online and many of the spa packages can only be booked onboard. I am actually going to try to change one of mine when I get on board....
I will ask shore excursions about the catameran on Coz because it did not show up at all for me, nor did it for CS at DCL. I have currently booked an excursion I don't want and DH and I talked and if we can't get the catameran, we are going to stay on board with the princesses.
Lisa, do you want me to send you a picture of the excursion page?
Hope this hels!

Christmas Eve 2004 at St Thomas they had a foot and face special that sounded wonderful. It was done on one of the heated tile loungers in the Rainforest. Unfortunately I got a kidney stone and the pain started just before I went up to the spa for my treatment. I could not sit still and by the time she started on my feet I just had to get up and leave and go to the medical unit for drugs. They did not charge me for the half of the treatment they did (facial) because I was not able to enjoy it. I thought that was very nice and I did go back up later and gave the therapist her tip anyway as I took up her time and she did try very hard to make me comfortable enough to get the treatment.
