Thankfully the nurse said that she hadn't seen an epidural take so well. I was giggling & saying that we have to have another baby while pushing DS out. YEAH those drugs were working well! :)

Yes I am a control freak in addition to being an overzealous planner, etc.. Excel is my friend. :lmao:

Morphine! :thumbsup2 The best drug ever invented. I felt so good after my c-sections. I wished it never wore off! ;)

Becka we so need to compare speadsheets, lol. I love Excel, had to have Office even when I went to MAC, lol. I taught Excel in HS(AP) and College, I got A+ in the classes for teaching.

Ladies, before the needle, ADAVAN, they gave me one before my laser eye surgery, made it all so easy. Pj
I thought I was calm before my surgery and when they held out that valium I was thinking that's it?!

Kim, I got one eye for a birthday gift and I paid for the other. I would do it again in a heart beat. 10 seconds after the surgery I could see the flag 53 stories down from the OR, it was so cool the next day being able to see the alarm clock.

I have come to the conclusion that this lovely personality trait does not mesh well with motherhood. For someone like me who needs so much control raising toddlers has been quite the ordeal!

Oh Lisa. That made me cringe. My sisters last labor was all back pain. That was the most traumatic thing I have ever ever experienced. She stuck it out hour upon hour because she didn't want to "disappoint" her husband, nurse, me, doula et. all. When she finally did have the epidural I told her later I wanted to take the thing and shove it in there myself. If I ever considered another that back pain labor cured me. There were 4 of us pressing on her back - ugh - the memory makes me shudder.

That makes me :rotfl2:. DH would push on my back with all his might...contractions started out 1 minute apart with the induction. Father was there...before I got rid of them...noone else was going to be in the room with me! He told DH to take a break & hardly even touched my back. I yelled at him that if he was going to push on my back he had better put some backbone into it or get DH back in the room!!!

Me too! Funny how we all like Lisa being in charge here. Maybe we are all trying to take a vacation from ourselves.... It's hard to be perfect ALL the time.... ha ha DH would say "It's hard to be obsessive ALL the time"

DH really wants the lasic. He is just a little apprehensive about it. They won't give it to me, so contacts forever...Kim
My surgery was last May. My sister has since had her lasik. I did custom vue. Not to sound hokey but it feels like a life altering experience after surgery. I use the language analogy. When you learn a language you practice and then become proficient. In the case of lasik you suddenly can see! Your brain doesn't have that learning curve to get used to it. It is the most incredible experience.

You said it sista!

I think I gave my mother a run for her money raising me. She would always tell me that we can't all live in my perfect world. I would have meltdowns because every strand of hair wasn't perfect. I was a nut! I have learned to control that trait a bit. That is a hard one with being a teacher. I know that no one is perfect...but I just can't help but strive for perfection.

Don't get me started talking about spreadsheets. That is actually my tag on another board...she gave up the spreadsheets. :lmao:

Exactly!!! OMG that was so scary! I remember thinking if I push any harder my hands will come through the other side.

Does this mean that as the cruise gets closer you are going to turn on me???

Almost everyone we have talked to has the same experience as you an PJ. I really could not tell you why he is so worried, sounds like a really great thing!

How many boards are you on??? Are you cheating on us? :stir:

I don't have time for the deal board anymore. I pop in & say hello now & then. I was there before finding the DIS. :)

no no no, that's not the way this works. Once a virgo decides to take a "vacation from themselves" they will never turn on you, they are taking a true vacation. That being said, they may have a plan B and C and may have plotted alternate routes for the ship depending on weather direction, but they will never never turn on you... That is not part of the plan.

Kim

OK...so when do I get to have my turn? ;)

Brandi....just when do you think that I have time to be ON another board???
