Hey all----I am in need of some prayers and pixie dust for my little sister. She went to the ER a little over a week ago with severe chest pains...she has a hole in her heart (since birth)...she was supposed to have new valves put in by the time she was 8 but the hole didn't enlarge and everything looked ok. She had gone every 6 months for an EKG up until about age 17, she's now 22. She took some OTC cold medicine and woke up in the middle of the night with chest pains and mom took her to the ER. They did not have the capacity to do an EKG and she is scheduled for one on the 15th. They also told her she should not be taking anything OTC, which she has done for years.

Her pediatric cardiologist is only in town once a week and my mom is trying to get a hold of him. Meanwhile she called me off and on all day yesterday complaining of her chest hurting. I think, we all, including the doctors, thought past a certain age, if nothing happened she was in the clear. I can hear in her voice how frightened she is and I just hope she is ok.

well my mom got hold of her cardiac ped and he saw her today. He was highly concerned that the hospital did not have the capacity to do an echo...so she had a few tests and it is enlarged to a 3.8, doc says 4.0 is when he will get concerned...but she has to watch her blood pressure....and he attributes her chest pain to something else.

DGD stayed with us last night. Grandpa did not know she was coming so that was a fun surprise for him when he walked in the door. She wanted to sleep in the MH, so of course we did! I had the task of taking her to the dentist today. We, of course, stopped on the way home yesterday and did just a bit of shopping. She said she had her spoilin' shoes on!

We had a good day today. It is a little over an hour drive from my house to her dentist so we had some visit/listen to Disney music time. She got one filling today and I scheduled her for 2 more visits. That child has a mouth full of work to be done still and has already had a bunch done. DSIL has always kept medical and dental ins for her (he and her mom divorced) that requires no copay at all! So he and DD thought mom would have been taking her for regular care. Well, about 4 years ago she came for her every other weekend visit and was crying with a tooth ache. DD made an appt with a dentist for her and it seems she had never been to the dentist before! This was 2 years after DD married her daddy. DD was so MAD!! They pay for the insurance so you'd think she could at least use it! DD then made follow up appts and told the mom when they were. DSIL then got bills from Kaiser for NO SHOW charges because mom "forgot" to take her. Finally, a couple of years ago DD just took charge of her dental care and started taking her to them herself, or scheduling them for when her daddy can take her which is Fridays. Occassionally he has to work overtime on Friday and at those times I pinch hit and take her. Her mom did sign releases at least so that either DD, DSIL, Dennis or I can take her. It is hard for me to just stay out of it and be nice when we take her home. Her mom has now moved them in with her 5th boyfriend since the divorce. I did talk with DGD on the way home about telling one of us if anyone touches her or makes her feel uncomfortable. Pedifiles are known to build trust with single women to get at their kids and since mom does not seem to have much common sense I worry. Taylor told me she knows she could come to us and would for sure if anyone hurt her.

Sorry for the rambling, I am just frustrated that she is having to have so much work done. She had a root canal last month.

I got a spam the other day from a "Brandi", and it made me think of our Brandi and Jason so I dropped her an email. This is most of her RSVP . . .

I think about the "old" cruise thread all of the time. I can never seem to find the time to have fun on the computer anymore. School has been wonderful and busy! We are closing our elementary schools and moving into one really big state of the art building. I am putting on huge musical productions with music from the 1950s to present and "news" of each era, both world and local. It has been a killer amount of work!

The kids are doing beautifully! Jacob is coming into his own. He is such a sweet little boy. Eliza "is so beautiful" as everyone calls her (which she is) but wow is she a little devil!

We are taking my mom to Disney this June for her 50th birthday. I plan on spending a lot of time on the boards after that trip (we are leaving the day after the last day of school.) I miss my stay at home status, but I also love my job. I guess if you have to go to work you may as well love what you are doing!

Oh yeah, my diploma finally arrived!!!!! I said to Jason, now I need to decide what I want to do for my doctorate. Why stop now!

Had a busy day today... Trey had to leave early in the morning for a heart transplant ... which was wonderful for that family, but really didn't help my plans for the day! It was First Communion at our church, and I teach the second grade class, so I had to be there for the big day. Elizabeth has been in Virginia on a field trip since Wednesday, so she couldn't babysit her brother and sister. Who can you call when you need someone to watch your kids at 8am!!??? My first call was to my fellow teacher, and her daughter was available. Whew! Our first communion Mass was beautiful, and then we had two parties to attend... then picked up Elizabeth who had just finished the bus trip home. Got home at 5:30, same time as Trey, and some neighbors asked Elizabeth to babysit their boys... turned into 3 couples going out for dinner, and Elizabeth sitting for all the kids (six, ages 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 9!) What a wild day.

DD does such a good job of it too. She loves Taylor so much and just wants what is best for her. Taylor has said a couple of times that she wants to someday come live with Dad and Shannon. That may happen when she starts middle school and is old enough for a judge to consider her wants. 12 I think. She is so happier in the stable environment they provide and she has her own room with her own stuff. She has shared with 2-3 other kids off and on, depending on whom Mom is living with. She does love our DD alot to and really appreciates the stability she provides.

Lisa, Aaron asked about William tonight when we were talking with him. "I like playing with William", he said. How cute! He is getting excited to see Savannah at DL, but really, really wishes William could come too!

Yes, how come all of you can't come! And to think I am going to have to do club libby lou without a guide!

Ice Show is done! I just got back from Chicago. I really like that city! More catching up....
