No Booklet, No letter, I am feeling left out....., but on the positive side, I promise never to post comments about attire.

Kim

I think the booklet gets sent to your travel agent first if you used one. That may be why it's delayed?

I haven't received mine either, but since this cruise is a reschedule and I got the booklet for what was supposed to be our original cruise I'm wondering if I'll still get one this time around. I hope so.

Good evening everyone!

Had to jump in on that dress up thread for my pals. I remembered how I was concerned before our first cruise because I read the DCL brochure before the cruise on attire, and I told Amy - WHY am I dressing up on vacation????

Then we all got together took the pictures, and it was so nice . . . So I put up with dressing up on vacation, and actually look forward to it now. I grew up getting dressed for church (yes, they still wear suits and ties on Sundays where we go to church), wear a shirt and tie at work every day, etc. So my vacations are usually the time to NOT dress up at all (Ask Lisa, I think I wore a bathing suit 90% of the time while awake at the OBX). This is the exception, and I really do feel if you don't want to do it, make another choice for dinner or vacation.

We are a bunch of rule followers here. Being a School Board Member, and an HR person, I constantly deal with rules and following them.

No real pirate: 's here, just pretend ones!

Welcome to the new families - the more the merrier!

John

I have decided I would like formal night a lot better if I looked as good as Todd's wife. Maybe we could start a thread "liposuction and formal night". (no offense to Todd, you really do have a beautiful family)

LOL, tell me about it! :rotfl2: I've been dieting like crazy ever since we scheduled our cruise back in august. I've lost 81 pounds (about 15 pounds left to lose) so far though, so I'm getting pretty excited about formal night now. :cheer2: :yay:

We did use a TA, located in Texas, so that could be the holdup. I'm not really bothered by it. I just wanted to get my 2 cents in.

I've got to ask...

Who here is planning on dressing for Pirate Night? We already know Jack Sparrow will be there, but what about the rest of you?

I got costumes for DH, DS, DD and I and can't wait to get all dressed up. pirate:

Also, I'd love a DIS group Pirate picture on pirate night. Will we be able to arrange one for all of us even though we won't all be the same dining?

:happytv: Good thing I wasn't drinking anything at the time. There would be a mess to pick up.

Way to go Tynkerbell! :woohoo: That's quite an accomplishment!

A friend of mine had surgery done a few months ago...she is still very sore. No way am I going to do that to myself. I'm debating the starvation diet so that I don't have to buy new dresses this year. :(

Ours was sent in an envie directly from DCL with our adress on their stationary showing thru the window. We have a TA.

We're dressing! DH is going kind of casual pirate. I am going bohemian pirate. and DD has a pink and turquoise thing happening based loosely on Minnie's pirate outfit.

Yup Todd, you do have a beautiful Family - - Must be that Vegas Lifestyle!

BUT - I think EVERYONE looks great on formal night - even those of us from the Midwest who may be a little more on the rounder side! :teeth:

I'm sure you'll all find great choices to wear, and our whole group will be the envy of the ship when we sit together at dinner!

When I called to set up the picture with Shutters they said that it should be at a time during dinner so the atrium would be cleared out. I think that we met at 8:45 or 9? The early people got there a little before and the late seating people came out to join us for a quick picture. We never did see the group shot in Shutter's so we could just go with doing it ourselves again. :) I think that everyone who dressed up last time will be doing it again for this cruise from what I have heard.

I think we will do more this time than last time. The first cruise with Pirate Night, I wore some stuff and no one else did, so I felt a little silly. The last time there were many more dressed up, and it seems like it is really growing in popularity.

I've got to find some character from that movie that I can look like - NO Jack Sparrow here! pirate:

I will dress up if I can find something here, around halloween time. I have been looking on line and did see some I liked, but nothing in Canada. But we have some party shops that do lots for halloween and will keep my eyes open. I can at least do a head scarf and I have a peasant blouse, so will have a little pirate going on, no matter what. Maybe I can do a waist/butt scarf too, and the I will be good, lol.

I don't want to spend a lot of money for costumes although DH does want to dress up so we will have to see what I can find. All of the pirates stuff I like on Ebay seems pretty expensive. Pirates are "in" right now so I don't see the stuff getting a whole lot cheaper.

Most of our pirate "attire" doubles as everyday wear. A la PJ's plan. We are just putting it together in a piratey way.

Look at Minnie Mouse as a pirate. She has a full skirt, pesant blouse, "but wrap" and headscarf. Really simple.

DD's but wrap is actually a poncho she can wear with other things. Her skirt is an everyday skirt in a torn style.

DH is the only one going pirate exclusive with a vest with a POC patch on the back. Otherwise he will be in cotton pants and and T-shirt but with a pirate theme.

I've actually been wearing my pirate outfit to work this summer. But, when I add a skull scarf and red shrug....watch out pirates! pirate:

You could always check out clearance sales after halloween. Maybe you'll find some great deals. pirate:

That's exactly what we did! :) DS's Hook costume was from DD.com on clearance after Halloween & I made the girl's costumes last year. I found my shirt on Ebay & the skirt on clearance at Goody's. DH's shirt was on sale at Kohl's & we already all had black boots to go with it all. pirate:

Hi everyone! Long time no chance to post. Thank you Penny for the wonderful newsletter. My DD17 & I have enjoyed it. We will be ordering 4 lime green shirts, not sure if DD13 will wear it! I won't tell her that about 100 Disers will be wearing the same shirt ;) I have had to do alot of reading to catch up! You all make this so much fun!
