UGH! :( That doesn't sound good. We use to get out the first week in May but now it is June 10 or so. Hmmm....The end of 2nd & 3rd grade for the kids. I will have to find out when EOGs are given. That wouldn't allow us any time to visit DL...which is rediculous IMO if we are in CA for the first time ever. I am going to have to ask a few teachers which they would recommend.

Savannah is still in school in May, but not in August. If she is, she would only miss 1 or 2 days on that repo.... Of course, this is all speculation at this point.

I want dates already!! August would be a definite no as Samantha would be starting school for the first time. (we decided against the private school for now)

If those become the May dates, I would say NO to May. I don't see how Sophia could miss that much school at the end of the school year. We usually get out the first week of June, so I don't think that will work at all.

In August/September, it may be a possibility. I am less concerned about missing the first few days of school, but that would still be a problem. I agree with you Lisa that it is a "once in a lifetime" opportunity.

Ughhhhhh! Just thought of something else . . . our Union contract expires September '08. Scratch August '08. I guess we could only consider the May repo. A lot depends on the school schedule. It may end up being January '09 for us, and no Repo.

John

You know, Going to see the Volcanos in Hawaii is also a lifetime experience and it is just beautiful in Hawaii all the time! Real Lava and everything!

OMG!

I am not even going to complain about 30 degrees and an ice storm.

Your new puppy is SO sweet. Any name yet?

Her name is BAY, short for Baylee....

who's going to Hawaii? and when?

Vanessa,

We used to go every year, soooo if everyone thinks the 08 cruises are too expensive or not good timing, I am just putting a possible solution out there... I really wanted Disney to do a Hawaii Cruise!

As for the repo, DH doesn't want to do 2 weeks on the ship... even though I'd love to go through the canal.

Doesn't want to be on the ship for two weeks? We have been on the Magic for two weeks and I want to figure a way to spend a MONTH ON IT!:thumbsup2

Maybe us if we can't do a repo cruise . . . who knows, the possibilities are endless, even if the credit limit isn't!

Realisticaly V, we have no idea what we may do in '08 - '09. Kim has been telling us all about Hawaii, and it is one of the places I have ALWAYS wanted to see. We can use DVC points at a Hawaii resort too for a whole week.

Maybe if we all can't do the repo cruise we could all meet in Hawaii! Can you do Hawaii V?

The more realistic truth will probably be a Disney Cruise in Jan/Feb . . . The thing I am worried about after Thanksgiving is airfare. Someone told me that even travelling ON Turkey day is no cheaper!

John1

The flights to Orlando from Kinston were $19 one way on Thanksgiving & Christmas day.

So, Kim....will you be calling for a rate on the 31st in August???

I am going to check the dates first, then talk to DH... There are ups and downs to this one. We actually talked about it and really liked the timing right after thanksgiving because she would miss less school and DH could have a work free travel day and maybe a day at the park without work too.

yes to Hawaii....yes yes yes!!

Angie, did you concider renting one first to get a good feel for it? My mom and dad bought one and used it once, then our neighbors got one last year, took it to FL for the winter, did that again this year, but ended up buying something there. Now they say their kids can use the motorhome.

I would rent one to see whicn kind fits you best. :thumbsup2

That is probably a good idea. Wonder if we can rent a 5th wheel and truck?:confused3

Angie,

My parents had a 5th wheel and loved it because they could use the truck too. It is not as comfortable to ride in if you are going on long trips though. You can't (ok your not supposed too) just lay in the back while DH is driving...

They don't make the official announcement until 1/17 but the paper trail of contracts makes it 99% certain. As far as us booking it...that is just speculation right now. Does this sound possible for you guys?

We are planning on booking the May repro the day it opens - 1/31 I think.

Brack, the last cruise in Florida, the westbound repro and the first cruise in California! :thumbsup2

Do troops meet at the leader's house anymore???

I don't think so - we met at in the church basement. The daisies also meet at one of the local churches. I think a public space is better all around.

I don't think the meeting is long enough to get any real babysitting done. She makes the parents sit outside the meeting room (too small/distracting)- if I am there, I would rather go in and see what they are doing.

we'll see, we have a complicated weekday schedule already.

Yes, one of the benefits of the motorhome. I can nap while Dennis drives. :goodvibes We have vehicles we can tow with the motorhome. The 5th wheels we liked were 50,000 to 60,000 then we have to buy a 30,000 truck and then have the 5th wheel thing installed. There are 3 motorhomes where we were looking that are around 75,000. The 5th wheels have more living space, but I think the motorhome more convenience. :confused3 :confused3

From the repo thread:

Hey Captain - how did we not hear that tale?! I want to hear about diving in the living seas at Epcot. How cool! Pics please!

Todd mentioned this once I believe because I know I asked him about diving in Cozumel.

You can do an actual dive at Epcot where you need a dive license or you can do what sounds like mostly a snorkel. You dive into the aquarium and your family can see you from the restaurant. Ken had fun playing with the patrons while they were eating. He was the only one on his tour so he had a great private tour with the instructor.
