Brandi,
It's not always a good idea to use any NonSteroidal anti-inflammatory Medications along with prednisone. Advil is Ibuprofen and use with steroids can increase risk of stomach problems, and GI bleeding, since both types of anti-inflammatory drugs, steroids and non- steroidals can affect stomach. Actifed may be a good choice to reduce ear pressure, and Acetaminphen for pain. Or Tylenol Sinus. Doxycycline used to be the drug of choice for Acute Sinusitis, so may still work well. I can't second guess the doc, but you might ask him about these. If a hot compress on your face doesn't bother you, I would also try that on your cheek, alongside of your nose on the affected side. Sleep with the affected side up to help with drainage. Sweet oil for the ear aches. (Sweet Oil is purified Olive Oil, and is an old remedy that works); or Auralgan prescription. Depending on dose and length of use, steroids should be tapered down. Don't stop taking or miss doses, unless Physician guides you. We'll keep you in our prayers.
