We haven't booked yet. I've been working mostly through the DCL website and our local travel office. But I sent a quote request to Dreams Unlimited and I am waiting for their reply. So I was going to see if they could do any better. Any recommendations?

Now I wish I were going this year Oh well, maybe you can go again next year!!

I went with Dreams Unlimited. I didnt have a local TA but the $100 On Board Credit (OBC) was just FANTASTIC! I also used my Disney visa for another $50 OBC (you must use the disney visa for both deposit AND full payment of the cruise) and then Disney gives you $25 OBC for booking online. Sweet huh? And if you parents come too, have them book separately to get the same deal and just make sure the TA knows to give you guys adjoining rooms.

I tell ya what. If I sell enough enough stuff for a second cruise, then I will go! LOL If that happens then I KNOW that will only be the Lord telling me to go. I have to pay off this one first! lol

Alright! I bit the bullet and submitted our reservation deposit through Dreams Unlimited today for this cruise! We don't have exact rooms (just category 8 guaranteed). But it'll be my husband, 2 kids, and I along with Nana & Grandad. This will be our first time to these islands so we're looking to have some great fun onboard and off.

we have our reservations for Sept and Bay lake towers...and the MNSSHP.. my favorite party at WDW!!
we were hoping for an Xmas party the day we come off the ship, but they are only on Friday nights.

Just bought Disney cards to pay off our cruise. ( the grocery store in Pgh offers free gas with g c purchases.) so a double bonus!!

I'm confused. What Disney cards did you buy to pay off your cruise?

EDIT - Never mind! I just checked and saw that they DO now allow you to use the Disney Gift Card on DCL, including towards reservation payments. They did not allow that some years ago.

I bought Disney gift cards at the grocery store. ( I earn free gas by doing this..) As long as gift cards are over 100.00 amounts, they can be used to pay on your cruise. ( and Dreams Unlimited accepts them too.) I earned 4 free tanks of gas . win win for me!!

also we use the gift cards for our trips to the parks.

Yeah, I had forgotten that you can use them on DCL now. They used to not allow that but yes, I know that changed. I know they are also good in the parks, although not at locations (such as many in World Showcase) that are not actually operated by Disney.

Congrats to all those who have paid off their cruises. I'm holding off, since I won't be doing any excursions and am not even sure if I want to do Palo this time after all, unless possibly my Platinum Castaway freebie. It's pretty definite that Holly (ThePhantomsGirl) won't be going on this cruise now (but I won't remove her from the list until she officially cancels), so I'll be solo and wouldn't really mind skipping Palo this time. So right now I don't have much incentive to pay off earlier than necessary.

I was just checking out info on our Cruisin Nuts site and went to "Meets". Nearly had a heart attack when under the picture it read, "Since we are still over a year away from sailing..."! I took a deep breath and reminded myself that we really are a lot closer than that. I'm making my FE gifts and already have a packing list started so it's getting closer. OK, group hug, better now....

LOL - I thought I changed that some time ago! I think what may have happened is that I edited the page from my netbook then re-edited again from my laptop without downloading the revised page to it first. Ooops.

Anyway, I just fixed it to read "Since DCL may revise their available activities before we sail . . " since it's still too soon to be definite on some meets. Don't worry - We'll be on the ship REAL soon!

Haha - Why restrain yourself? I've been mostly packed since about two weeks after I returned from my January cruise!

One way to feel closer to sailing is to maybe put one item per week in your luggage, having a designated day to do so. When friends ask what you are doing that day you can proclaim, "Oh - I'm busy! I'm packing for my Cruisin' Nuts cruise!"
