11th birthday at US/IoA

My Harry Potter fanatic is already dreaming about a visit on her 11th birthday in summer 2015. We plan to stay at Royal Pacific for one night and Cabana Bay for three, so we get four days of early entry and Express passes for two of those days.

What can we do to make her birthday extra special, especially since she'll be turning 11? She visited IoA once and was disappointed when "Ollivander" selected the boy standing next to her -- she's sure he'll pick her if he knows she's turning 11.

Get a birthday pin from Guest Services. Buy her ice cream at the new ice cream place in Diagon Alley. Let her choose the family schedule on her birthday. Does she have a favorite character? Maybe buy a tshirt or other item with the favorite character or USO themed?

We'll be celebrating my and my DD's birthdays at USO this summer. It's a great time to vacation.

Make sure you tell everyone (hotel front desk, restaurant servers, ect) it is her birthday!

I took DGrD last year for her 10th B'day and we had such a great time, we are going again this year for her 11th too!
She WAS picked by Ollivander and it was such a thrill for her - I think she was picked because she is a very tall girl and when the room was filling she was very sweetly letting the smaller children behind her move in front of her for a good view. I don't remember if she had a b'day button on.
I surprised her with Blue Man Group tickets for her actual b'day night - she LOVED the show!! It was the highlight of a truly fabulous trip! Enjoy!
PS: she thinks Cabana Bay looks so cool we are going to spend one whole day there just to hang at the pool and bowl.
