I see that during our vacation there is a night that Spectromagic runs at 11pm. That is also listed as the Magic Kingdom's closing time, 11pm. How does that work? Do they try to herd you towards the exit after the parade passes by? Do the shops and rides remain open until the parade is done?:confused3

We plan on being in Epcot that day, but I'm thinking we could hop over after Illuminations and watch the parade, that is, if we are awake enough yet. But if we could make it on some rides without much of a wait that would be a bonus. Is the 11pm showing of Spectromagic usually very crowded? Or will most people have seen the 9pm showing?

last speco show is at 11pm then the park will close. Usally the stores are open till after the park is closed. After the show is over they will try to get you out. it will be crowed all their shows are. if you really want to see the show go in plently of time sometimes because of the crowds they may not let any one else into the park.

The late night, second showing of the spectromagic parade is my favorite parade to watch. Most people have left the park by then, and you get the best view without having to scope out a spot, and wait. It's a really nice way to end the day in the park.

If you stand by the Firehouse you get to see all the floats come out of the gate, and you can see the float directors/CMs getting all the floats and characters ready. The characters are already dancing and performing before they even leave the gate.

When Spectro is offered twice, the 11 PM one is usually less crowded because families with little kids usually go to see the early one. And the CM's don't herd you out of the park like cattle, you can hang out in the stores a while or whatever, but none of the rides will be going after 11 unless its a EMH night.

Most shops will have closed by the time the 11pm Spectro starts, except for some on Main Street.

I do highly recommend going to a 2nd Spectro, as it is a lot less crowded.

One time we stayed late at the MK, Spectro ran at closing. We stayed by the castle for the "Kiss Goodnight". There were only a handful of people around and some workers cleaning up. They were bringing all the abandoned strollers from the park to the central hub. They did not push us out. After the "Kiss Goodnight" we walked down an empty Main Street just as they were closing the stores.

Ditto to this.

We stay in the parks, and let the rest of the throng file out, for up to an hour after closing.

Beautiful and peaceful.

maxie--when are you going cuz I think when they have a parade that late the park has extra magic hours and is probably closing at 2 am.

Late parades at MK and second performances of Fantasmic! at DHS are not always directly related to a PM EMH at either park.

Sometimes yes, and sometimes no.

When we were in WDW in the summer of 2006, they also had a 11 p.m. Spectro. The schedule was 9 p.m. Spectro, 10 p.m. Wishes, 11 p.m. Spectro and MK close. It was awesome. We were able to enjoy BTMRR & Splash during the 9 Spectro, then caught Wishes. Then, we walked right on to Buzz, Winnie, Peter Pan, and Small World and made it to the front of the castle for 11 p.m. Spectro. All of the rides close at 11 p.m. but Main Street Shops stay open until 12 or 12:30. Hope this helps!

We will be at Disney May 9-14. I think the date I was looking at was May 11.

May 11th is, indeed, MK PM EMH.
So the parade will not "close" the park for thousands of WDW Resort guests who can remain until 2am.

-------------------------------------------------------
But, as I was saying earlier, an 11pm Spectro does not necessarily indicate a PM EMH.
As an example, the previous night (Sat., May 10th) the MK closes at 11pm, no PM EMH
but shows this schedule:

Parades and Fireworks
Disney Dreams Come True Parade 3:00pm
"SpectroMagic" Parade 9:00pm, 11:00pm
Wishes™ Nighttime Spectacular 10:00pm
