If i pay in full for 1 nght. do i get the money back when a code comes out?..i only paid $105. (email) for akl last yr. so this is killing me.....june codes pls. come fast...

You can apply a code after the fact, and I don't remember whether they credited my card or just rolled the excess into the rest of the bill when I did this for my Jan. trip. One way or another you get your money.

I am not 100% sure on this, but this is what they have always done for me in the past. If I book at a rack rate or code and then find a better code or rate, they just transfer the remaining balance into the deposit for the additional night/s. I actually like this because I get more of my vacation paid off earlier. HTH

That's the same rate I have at the moment. When I stay at a non-DVC resort, using cash, I like to still use Dreams Unlimited to book my stay. Since I usually stay for 2-3 nights in order to lenghten my trip, I can book a 'regular' resort thru them and pay for just one night. Then, when a good rate that I qualify for comes out, my agent just applies it automatically. And I pay whatever is due when I get there. I've already sent an email to my agent telling her that when AP rates come out I want to move over to POR as a surprise for my dd for our last two nights. If it's under $100 a night, which it should be, I will have already paid $111 for Movies. So, I'll only owe less than $100 when I get there. So, you will get credited. In the past the credit has shown up on my cc statement when I paid in full and changed resorts later due to a terrific rate coming out!!!

If codes come out and you are able to get one, then you will be given the amount paid as credit on your total bill. You will not get your money back unless you cancel.

If one becomes avaiable for the time frame and room category you have booked then yes you can have the code applied. The trick here is the Disney bases what discounts to release based on projected room occupency so by booking the room you want a full price you could in theory contributue to discounts not coming out for that room at that time.

Keep in mind that Disney, like any business, only discounts items that they cannot sell at full price.

I would imagine the overage would just be applied against the card used to pay. If you paid cash, I suppose you would recieve cash back.

Yes. But, I would not reconmend paying a room only resevation in full in advance. Why give Disney use of your money before you have to?

You have to watch your CC statement carefully though. One time when I booked, then lowered the rate when AP came out, I was told my deposit would just transfer to the new reservation.

However, a couple of days later, my deposit was refunded to my credit card. I waited two more days to see if the new deposit would be charged and it was not, so I called them up, and sure enough my new reservation did not have a deposit.

that's why i'm so leary of paying upfront but i don't want the movies to sell out, i hear that can happen

Book it now and wait for a code - looks like this year is going to be busy and availability may become a problem. Trust me.
