I knew I was handling this too well for too long a time. Well today, DD was up bright and early. Seemed like a good day when all **** broke loose. You see the evil mother (me) unbuttoned one of her shirts before she washed it. My guess is she couldn't get it buttoned perfectly - couldn't fully understand her amid the hysterical crying and screaming. So the morning's great start turned into missing the bus, DD having some things taken away from her while my poor other two children just endured. Plus mom tore into DD for her behavior and her not considering her two siblings - probably drove that home too hard, but I lost it too. I drove them to school and DD was sensitive but fine. Man, was I tempted to wear a bathrobe, mess up my hair and walk her into her classroom. And middle school is next year. Shoot me please.

I have an eleven yr old daughter who is quite similar. I hope it is hormones and not just a personality flaw :guilty:. Her three siblings are darlings, what happened to my firstborn ?

The fun has only yet begun. ;)

It's time you realize now that you are the dumbest person on the face of the earth and know nothing, you do not, and cannot understand, and the fact that you live and breath is embarassment enough. I think once you get these things down, life will be easier. :rotfl2:

Welcome to the club. Just turned 12 is gonna make me gray before my time. lol

Like my youngest, I'm guessing it either hasn't happened yet or…they've become wise watching their sister go nuts and realize it's just not worth it. :lmao:

DS is just about 15 and I somehow made a wrong turn onto this same road a few years ago. I hope I can hold onto my sanity long enough to make it to the next crossroad..... :dance3:

My daughter will be 12 this month. I am so here with you. The  is probably the most popular thing here, and I can't STAND IT.

Mornings are a nightmare, when she gets home from school, all is fine, then the moods again.

I think it is totally hormonal, and I ask her to just walk away when she feels this way. DH says "everybody duck, mood swing is coming" and he does duck , which totally pisses her off, but at least she walks away.

My 11 yr old had a meltdown last week over getting the wrong flavor of ice cream...

 Yep, they sure do perfect smacking you with their eyelids pretty quick at that age.

Hang in there, they do come out of it. Hopefully my newly-minted 13 y.o. will get the hint soon.

Thought I would chime in.....my DS is 12.5 has a bad case of hormones (YES it happens in boys too!).

Today he wore pajama bottoms, untied tennis shoes, uncombed hair and a sweatshirt to school (it's snowing), because he would not get out of bed! I finally had to strip his covers and turn on the overhead light. The bus starts honking the horn 3 houses down. And somehow, ALL of this is my fault, including the snow

God help me.

My oldest turns 22 today : ). About 15 is when his hormones kicked in and turned him into someone we didn't know or even like all the time lol. I started liking him again when he was about 20. Just let those little heathens live a few more years and I promise you all will like them once again . LOL ; )

My soon to be 10 year old (at the end of this month) has already hit hormone h***!!!
I was around 12 or 13 when I turned into an alien. However my DD is already morphing into a complete stranger. I feel like I lost a few years with her. Anyone else have an early bloomer?

Believe me, it gets worse. My DD16 is so emotional during that time. She's extra moody and eats nothing but chocolate for at least a week every month. Hang in there! You're not alone! It will get better!

I feel for you, I have an 11 yr. old DD as well. My goodness how quickly she goes from sweet to pouty, cranky, mad could cause whiplash!
She had a meltdown yesterday morning because her 6 yr. old sister chose a bag to take to school that looked too much like the one she was taking. Mornings are the hardest!

Let me tell you just be gratefull its just mood swings and not something worse! My DD"s Bff is a cutter just found out recently and it breaks my heart!

All kids are different:

DS1 36 yo was a dream kid- no problems at all
DS 2 was oppositional defiant but at about 21 he did a 180 and has been a dreamever since
DD 17 is putting us through our paces -hoping she will have the turn around that DS 2 had

DD is 13, and we've been experiencing meltdowns for a couple of years now. It does seem to happen less frequently here in the last few months.

Although just about a month ago, she lost her phone, iPod, and laptop in the course of about 20 minutes. She just couldn't keep her smart comments to herself. The laptop was the last to go and it was confiscated because as I was walking out of her room she said, "You just think you're all that, don't you?" It was all I could do not to laugh out loud.

my DD16 just asked me for some Motrin. My youngest DS8 said, "OH MANNNN, NOT AGAIN!!!!":headache:

:lmao: Love it. I've heard something like that before. I believe I responded with "You're still a kid so yes I AM ALL THAT!"
