Love this update! It was hilarious!! I could completely relate to the coffee consumption--that is so me! Thanks for making my day with the laundry description!
So glad I brought a smile to your face!
Every once i a while I run into someone who doesn't drink coffee and I am totally flabbergasted. It's like I'm meeting an alien. Just doesn't compute.
That wildlife refuge looks a lot like the ramshackle little zoo we visited last weekend. They also had some endangered species but mostly monkeys. We had a great time because you can buy a bucket of treats to feed them and the monkeys make quite a show of begging. I think we'll go back when it's not a bazillion degrees out though.
That sounds really fun. It was pretty hot when we went, too, and although the place wasn't huge, we didn't quite know what to expect and didn't bring enough water with us, so by the time we got back to the car we were *dragging*. I really loved it though!
I want to know EVERYTHING about laundry at BWI.
Did I leave anything out?
Did you ever wave and say hi with a big smile to the guy in the supermarket parking lot who you could swear is your neighbor but it turns out he just works in the store. He didn't look at me at all funny.
That is exactly something I would do.
In fact, I always remember the story of when I was really little, on the sidewalk outside church, seeing my mom and running up to her, squealing "MOMMY!"
Only it wasn't my mommy.
Day 7 already?
I *think* so. I may have miscounted, though. See Mommy Brain above.
Sounds like my trip report.
We'll stick together.
What do I think it stands for?
B.C. You know, before Christ. I was trying to keep politics and religion out of here.
My daughter has to have those every morning too.
They were a hit!
Is the coffee any better in the lounge?
You know, I don't know for sure, but I did think it was a step up from the stuff at the CBR food court (nescafe for sure, and BLLLLUUURRGHHH TERRIBLE). It could have been the lovely ambiance of the lounge fooling me into thinking I was drinking something not totally nasty, though.
Oh my gosh Meribeth! That laundry story is hysterical! Very entertaining!
So glad you liked it! It's a much more fun story to tell than to actually go through.
I love reading your trip report, even a whole post about laundry had me cracking up! I have to say it is really dissapointing to hear (from nearly every TR where someone does laundry) that the washer and dryers are frequently out of order and take a millions years to finish. You would think that Disney would be willing to keep them in good working order.

I would love to say that I don't think I will be doing laundry on our upcoming trip, but based on the way my DH goes through clothes during a normal week (I am constantly astounded that one man can average 2-3 t-shirts per day), I will probably have to

.
Thanks!!
OMG, Tim goes through a couple tee shirts a day, too. Oof. And while on vacation, it's not such a problem (mostly because we are out and about), but at home Quinn changes his clothes like three times a day. What gives, man? And yes, the lack of working washers/dryers was pretty disappointing.
if you can just wash what you absolutely have to--like maybe one small load--I bet you'll be fine. I think part of my problem is I was trying to wash too much. it just isn't really doable at Disney.
Yay! I'm loving this!
I'm always afraid of doing laundry on vacation because 1) It is just me and the kids and we would constantly ALL be going back and forth to the machines and the level of complaining that would ensue would be more than I can handle and 2) I am irrationally afraid that someone will steal all of our clothes.
And, several hours later, I have a question. You said something in here about Liam playing games on your old Droid phone. I'm thinking about upgrading my phone, but I was thinking I'd keep my old Droid 2 to use for games and music for the kids, kind of like an iTouch (I think that's what they are called? Clearly I'm non an iPerson). Does that work? Can you still use the internet to get new games, or are you just "stuck" with what's on your phone?
Hey, Nancy!! So glad you came over here!
Oh, yes, if it were just me and the kids--no way. Oh, no. It would have been HORRIBLE to have them running up and down the halls with me, waiting for the laundry, sorting it, hanging it up, etc. They'd have been so bored and the complaining would have been out of control.
As for the Droid--yes, that's just what we did, and that's how it works. Do you have wireless internet at home? Because you can still download stuff from the app store, play internet games, watch
youtube, etc at home if you do. While out and about, of course, you can only use what's on the phone--games, music, etc. But if you have internet at home, you can still connect and it works just like the itouch or whatever.
Hope that helps!!
