11 nights! 3 resorts! A goose egg at Biergarten! A 9 year old IN A STROLLER! New 8/6!

Love this update! It was hilarious!! I could completely relate to the coffee consumption--that is so me! Thanks for making my day with the laundry description! :rotfl2:

That wildlife refuge looks a lot like the ramshackle little zoo we visited last weekend. They also had some endangered species but mostly monkeys. We had a great time because you can buy a bucket of treats to feed them and the monkeys make quite a show of begging. I think we'll go back when it's not a bazillion degrees out though.

More Than You Ever Wanted To Know About Laundry at the BWI

No, really, I'm serious

I want to know EVERYTHING about laundry at BWI.

I am at a loss for words, because I can't place this person at all. She understands mommy brain, or getting older brain, or hey you're kind of a moron brain, and reminds me of her name. And then of course I remember her, and guys, she's even on my FACEBOOK, so I really have no excuse here.

Did you ever wave and say hi with a big smile to the guy in the supermarket parking lot who you could swear is your neighbor but it turns out he just works in the store. He didn't look at me at all funny.

But back to the matter at hand. We're now at Day 7 of our trip. Day 7 finds our family sleeping in, because we're pretty good at it.

Day 7 already?

You know what else Day 7 finds? Basically no pictures. WTH, MB!??

Sounds like my trip report.

(BC doesn't stand for what you think it may stands for

What do I think it stands for? :confused3

They have mini chocolate chip muffins which Quinn could apparently live on

My daughter has to have those every morning too.

some of us refill our coffee cups more than we should, then we start shaking. Hey, just like home—I've had the right amount of caffeine.

Is the coffee any better in the lounge?

Oh my gosh Meribeth! That laundry story is hysterical! Very entertaining!

I love reading your trip report, even a whole post about laundry had me cracking up! I have to say it is really dissapointing to hear (from nearly every TR where someone does laundry) that the washer and dryers are frequently out of order and take a millions years to finish. You would think that Disney would be willing to keep them in good working order.:headache: I would love to say that I don't think I will be doing laundry on our upcoming trip, but based on the way my DH goes through clothes during a normal week (I am constantly astounded that one man can average 2-3 t-shirts per day), I will probably have to:sad2:.

Yay! I'm loving this!

I'm always afraid of doing laundry on vacation because 1) It is just me and the kids and we would constantly ALL be going back and forth to the machines and the level of complaining that would ensue would be more than I can handle and 2) I am irrationally afraid that someone will steal all of our clothes.

And, several hours later, I have a question. You said something in here about Liam playing games on your old Droid phone. I'm thinking about upgrading my phone, but I was thinking I'd keep my old Droid 2 to use for games and music for the kids, kind of like an iTouch (I think that's what they are called? Clearly I'm non an iPerson). Does that work? Can you still use the internet to get new games, or are you just "stuck" with what's on your phone?

OMG!! You have got me cracking up here!! It's so bad that my DH and DS are giving me strange looks. Usually when I laugh like this it's because I'm talking about one of them. LOL!! :rotfl:

I love Perry the Platypus!! I love those egg laying mammals. Seriously, when I was about 5 I remember a book that told all about them. I just thought that they were the best thing EVER!! LOL!!

And yes! Someone else who knows that mommy brain is an actual condition. DH swears that it is something I invented to cover up my forgetfulness!! LOL!!

Oh no! Someone removed your clothes from the washing machine? I shall hunt them down and.... wait you said she was nice. Nevermind. LOL!!

I love your description of going to the desk for quarters!! It's funny the things we do to get things accomplished.

Seriously though, I'm in love with this trip report and can't wait to read more!! :rotfl2:

Thanks! yes, someone definitely did remove my clothes from the dryer. At first I was pretty offended. And then not so much, because I wondered if I'd have been tempted to do the same thing?

Mommy brain is real. Never let anyone tell you otherwise.

The dryers do totally suck at WDW, doesn't matter which resort, they suck! I have done that and my rooms have been adorned with hanging laundry, wish you took pictures of that!

That is why I am looking forward to having a washer and dryer in our rented home this trip. I plan to throw a load in every night. 7 of us will be creating a load a night so I will have to!

Funny update!

Now see, someone who really knew what they were doing regarding trip reports would definitely have taken pics of the laundry all over the room. Unfortunately, this trip report is sub par in terms of pictures. :( Next time!

Great update, MB! I meant to post more, but I havent (bad I know), but I am really enjoying your report

No worries!! Thanks for stopping by!

I would have sworn up and down that I had been in here and gotten all caught up a day or two after returning from the cruise, but the evidence is distinctly to the contrary. :confused3

Anyway, I am caught up now! :woohoo: That MK storm was downright scary! :scared: As is your laundry day!!! :rotfl2:

:rotfl: You are right. And I am not sure which was scarier, honestly. I suppose the storm made me scared for my life, while the laundry made me scared for my sanity.

laundry at disney ugh! have only done this once. (of course, it's just hubby and me, so I have room to bring lots of clothes)

that CL stuff sounds really neat! loved your view!

I really thought doing laundry was going to be fine. I thought it would make things easier since we were there for 12 days.

No, it would have been easier to pack an extra suitcase with more clothes. NO LAUNDRY AT DISNEY EVER AGAIN.

That was a great chapter! Very few people could make laundry that entertaining. I literally laughed out loud. :thumbsup2

And, thank you for solidifying my stance on doing laundry on vacation. NOT GONNA DO IT.

Yup. Glad I could help. It is not worth it. Just stuff more clothes in there and know you are doing the right thing.

Love your writing! I'm only up to day three, so I'm leaving a message so I can find my way back later!

Thank you!! :goodvibes

So glad I brought a smile to your face!

Every once i a while I run into someone who doesn't drink coffee and I am totally flabbergasted. It's like I'm meeting an alien. Just doesn't compute.

That sounds really fun. It was pretty hot when we went, too, and although the place wasn't huge, we didn't quite know what to expect and didn't bring enough water with us, so by the time we got back to the car we were *dragging*. I really loved it though!

I want to know EVERYTHING about laundry at BWI.

Did I leave anything out?

Did you ever wave and say hi with a big smile to the guy in the supermarket parking lot who you could swear is your neighbor but it turns out he just works in the store. He didn't look at me at all funny.

:rotfl: That is exactly something I would do.

In fact, I always remember the story of when I was really little, on the sidewalk outside church, seeing my mom and running up to her, squealing "MOMMY!"

Only it wasn't my mommy.

Day 7 already?

I *think* so. I may have miscounted, though. See Mommy Brain above.

Sounds like my trip report.

We'll stick together.

What do I think it stands for? :confused3

B.C. You know, before Christ. I was trying to keep politics and religion out of here. :rotfl:

My daughter has to have those every morning too.

They were a hit!

Is the coffee any better in the lounge?

You know, I don't know for sure, but I did think it was a step up from the stuff at the CBR food court (nescafe for sure, and BLLLLUUURRGHHH TERRIBLE). It could have been the lovely ambiance of the lounge fooling me into thinking I was drinking something not totally nasty, though.

Oh my gosh Meribeth! That laundry story is hysterical! Very entertaining!

So glad you liked it! It's a much more fun story to tell than to actually go through. ;)

Thanks!!

OMG, Tim goes through a couple tee shirts a day, too. Oof. And while on vacation, it's not such a problem (mostly because we are out and about), but at home Quinn changes his clothes like three times a day. What gives, man? And yes, the lack of working washers/dryers was pretty disappointing.

if you can just wash what you absolutely have to--like maybe one small load--I bet you'll be fine. I think part of my problem is I was trying to wash too much. it just isn't really doable at Disney.

Yay! I'm loving this!

Hey, Nancy!! So glad you came over here!

Oh, yes, if it were just me and the kids--no way. Oh, no. It would have been HORRIBLE to have them running up and down the halls with me, waiting for the laundry, sorting it, hanging it up, etc. They'd have been so bored and the complaining would have been out of control.

As for the Droid--yes, that's just what we did, and that's how it works. Do you have wireless internet at home? Because you can still download stuff from the app store, play internet games, watch youtube, etc at home if you do. While out and about, of course, you can only use what's on the phone--games, music, etc. But if you have internet at home, you can still connect and it works just like the itouch or whatever.

Hope that helps!!

Laughing while I'm reading your laundry fiasco! I totally hear you about the crazy dryers---Somehow, it always takes two rounds at $2/cycle to get those clothes dry.

Hi! Saw you on Nebo's TR and came over.

Thanks for the tip for buying coffee pods from Amazon. I'll have to check out their selection. I don't drink coffee (I know, I know) but DH does. Is the in room coffee that bad?

Exactly!! And if they were any more than 1/3 full, even two cycles wasn't long enough. INSANITY!!!

Hey, thanks so much for stopping by! No judging on the coffee thing--I just can't relate. My entire existence is based on getting that first cup of coffee in the morning--and then I can handle life. Well, maybe after two cups. :lmao: But yes, the in room coffee (in both my and DH's opinion) was really pretty gross. The stuff we got from Amazon was hardly the haute couture of coffee, but it was MUCH better, IMO!

me either.. I'm a tea drinker (but don't mention that around Laura!!! she thinks we're high maintainence;))

Wow, mama's getting a new phone! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

;)

I do have wireless at home, so I should be able to connect via the WIFI signal then, that makes total sense. And I assume if we are out in public I can use a free WIFI if needed? Wow, that actually solves several problems! Thanks!

I remember. :rotfl: But I don't drink tea either, hot or iced. But I sure love me some cherry coke - or cherry pepsi - it's about all I drink at home.

Mirage,,,I forgot to also ask,,,how does the in room coffee compare to the Nescrap at the food courts?

Oh another non-coffee non-tea person! My caffeine delivery method of choice is Diet Coke (Diet Pepsi is an adequate substitute in case of emergencies).

Raising hand!, I can tolerate iced coffee but given a choice, I will guzzle the biggest Diet Pepsi I can, preferably if it's from a fountain. Something about freshly carbonated DP...love!

Try being addicted to coffee *and* diet coke!

Following along the tr, and ready for more updates! Also, did I miss finding out about the bear adoption?

Yup, just double checked with Liam (lest I lead you astray) and he confirmed that youtube, internet, etc are fine on the Droid at home. I assume you'd be able to pick up wifi while you're out and about.

What are you going to get??

Well, in my NSHO, i think the food court nescrap (ha!) is the worst stuff on property. When I had the in room pods at AKL, they were tolerable, but not great. I guess they were decent.

Sounds Like *I'm* in the minority with my coffee addiction!!

Man, there are a lot of you non coffee people around here. :confused3

Hey!! No, you didn't. Unfortunately they never called me :( and i haven't had a chance to call back yet. I am going to try and get an update done tonight/tomorrow--the kids and i are leaving to see my dad in AZ and I can't leave y'all hanging for another week, now can I? :rotfl:

OMG. I was thinking Beach Club.
:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

Coffee!

I am addicted to Dunkin Donuts coffee. The 5x's more expensive coffee while we are at it. I can't drink anything else, I try, but I just cry.

There is something in it, probably crack, and I can't part with it.

I also have to have the carnation french vanilla "pump" creamer in it. I have tried others and again, I cry.

I purchased a coffee pot, sent it to Pop two years ago so I could have my own coffee in the morning. Yes I am that bad.

I try not to drink pop at all. If I do, it's coke, another product with crack.:hyper:
