11 mth window chances?

Hi all

I'm trying to work out my points for upcoming vacations (although I know they aren't accurate as I'm having to base it on 2014 point charts).

We are wanting to take relatives with us in August 2016 and wondered what are our chances of getting 2 x std view studios at BLT (for 3 nights - fri/sat/sun mid August) & 2 x value studios at AKV ( for 6 nights mid/ late aug - again arriving on a fri if that makes a difference to our chances)?

We own at both resorts so would have the 11 month advantage.

I'm just trying to gauge if one option is more likely than the other and whether I should think about buying the one time use points for our vacation next year, which would free up enough points for 2016 to get just one value and 1 std view at BLT (as could then afford for the second rooms to be std at AKV & lake at BLT).

Stretching to our absolute limits (including all borrowing & buying all 24 one time points next year) - I've worked out that, I could eek out enough points to get 2 x lake views at BLT, but would still need 1 x value studio at AKV. I hate relying on needing the values as I know they are hard to get, but my points just don't stretch any further!!

I'm still hopefully of persuading my hubby to buy a poly add on if it happens next year so this could resolve it all - but I won't get too reliant on that yet!!

So What would you do?

I am new to all this so I can't be very helpful; but I just booked a value room at akv a week after my 11month window opened.. so it can be done!!

I think with the 11-month window, you could get the standard BLT studios. But the values at AKV would really worry me. There are so few, and they could be booked up by someone arriving before you.

At 11 months for mid-August. you should be able to get either if you book online when the window opens (8 AM Eastern). Arriving on a Friday increases the probability of success.

There are quite a few more more standard view studios at BLT than there are value studios at AKV, however.

My advice (if you prefer AKV), is to try booking those first. If you run into a problem, then try BLT. Again, I think you will be fine, either way.

Yes, I still think that the values are the tricky part. Two standards at BLT will probably be no problem.
