I've asked this on another thread, but I can't find that thread at all, so I'm trying again.

We need to book 5 or 6 rooms, most are studios, at the 11th month window. I will call day to day. Do I need to mention daily which rooms will use the borrowed points and which use the '04 points? It's hard for me to get the exact number because of the views offered, and I've read enough so that I'm not counting on getting standard view at BWV for all rooms all days.

I want to use the borrowed points primarily for the rooms of people like ourselves that I am most sure will be coming. This way the current points would be available to bank if someone cancels in time to do so.

I am hoping that on the last day, when I know the total number of points, that MS and I can go over which rooms, which points, but I want to be prepared.

Thank you.

Bobb;)

My short answer to your question would be....Yes.

I would certainly mention it each time I called. Put together a chart and keep track every day, especially with the borrowed points those are the real key.

Hope everything works out. It sounds like a great trip!:D

That is what I thought as well

But...I think once the points are borrowed into a different use year, they are used first.....for example

If you borrow 100 of 2005's points to use in 2004 and book a ressie for 200 pts (100 from 2005 and 100 from 2004) and then cancel or adjust that ressie, I believe they allocate the 100 from 2005 FIRST as those could not be banked back to 2005.

Did I just talk in circles?

in the old member book it say

borrowing vacation points gives some rules then at the end

"Member Services will use all Vacation Points From your current Use Year before Vacation Points may be borrowed to make a reservation."

the new one

not as cut and dry -

so I would go with your originally plan - just make sure you are dealing with a experience MS -

come back and say what happens.....

Since you plan on making the ressies day by day it does make it a bit difficult to do as youplan. Since MS can't borrow any points until you've used all your current use year points, the first day or days you call you could still be using current year points for all reservations. Look at it this way....

You have 200 current points and need to borrow 200 to make the ressies. You need to use up the current 200 before you can borrow any of the next UY's. So, basically all of the ressies will be half finished all with current year points. After you complete the ressies day by day, that's when I would have the points re-allocated. You just need to inform the CM at MS, that you want all or most of the borrowed points placed on one reservation, the one you know won't get cancelled. It might help, if you make the reservations in different names (ie in your guests) so you can keep everything easier to identify. Waiting until you've finished making all of your reservations, will be easier on MS and on yourself as well.

Thank you. There are nuances that I didn't know about. I have a few more days to plan, and yes, when this is done, I'll report back, the experience can't be as bad as I imagine, there is a family vacation at the end but I do see how you can lose points. I think if I had it to do over, I wouldn't have planned these earlier vacations in the year, just kept this years points for the big ressie.
No, scratch that, it'll work out.
