OK, I'm playing with rental car rates for our trip next year (June 2013). We're cruising out of Fort Lauderdale. RT flights from our home airport to FLL are $471pp. We can get RT from our home airport to MCO for $230pp. That's flying in two days before the cruise and home two days after.
So, I can get a car rental for that difference, right? WRONG! I go to Nationwide and put in for the 11 days... $856
I check Travelocity (so it can look at a lot of places), and I get comparable (from the 'big names') prices.
I know, since we're on a cruise, I'll pick up at MCO, drop off at FLL, cruise, then rent from FLL to MCO. It still comes out around $450.
Now, we're still 11 months out, so there's no rush, but WTH?
