(Denison, Iowa-AP) -- A gruesome find inside a rail car in Iowa.
Authorities have discovered as many as eleven badly decomposed bodies. They may be those of immigrants being smuggled into the country from Mexico.
The bodies were found in a Union Pacific rail car at a grain elevator outside of the town of Denison.
They may have been in the rail car for four months.
An immigration official says a Mexican official told him the rail car left Matamoros, Mexico, in June. It was parked in Oklahoma before heading to Denison, about 60 miles northwest of Omaha, Nebraska.
The official says smugglers sometimes lead migrants into the US and then lock them inside rail cars so authorities won't check the cars.
