Signing up today for this. We are first time cruisers.

DH and I are in our mid 40s, DD1 - will be 10, DD2 - will be 8 by the time we cruise.

We're visiting the MIL in Cocoa for Thanksgivign then cruising then on to Universal Studios for a few days. Best of all worlds!

Anyone have any other info that they might do special that's different for the holidays?

Yes, we'll have to at the very least meet for a drink to the DIS at one point!

Hi scammermom!

I don't want to spoil all the goodies for you, but I will give you a hint on what
went on during my cruise. It was a couple of years ago, so some things might have changed.

There is a HUGE tree in the lobby.
Christmas Carolers in the lobby and on Castaway Cay
Mrs. Claus reading "The Night Before Christmas"
There was even snow flurries on Castaway Cay.
Characters are also dressed up for the holidays

Ok, need some advice or help! I have been on 2 four night cruises and 2 seven night cruises but have never done the dolphin excursion on Nassau! Can anyone tell me about it? I have actually done a dolphin swim in Cancun years ago but my sister is DYING to be in the water with dolphins. She knows it isnt "swimming" per say but I just want to make sure it will be a great experience for her!

Hi Gina!

I haven't done the Dolphin excursion myself, but I have heard mixed reviews about it. Some give it four stars, and I have heard others say its not enough time with the dolphin.

I guess since she understands that it is not swimming with the dolphins, I am sure she would enjoy it.

Sorry it wasn't much help! Maybe post the question on the main cruise board. I am sure there are a few peeps that have done this excursion.

Hi! My daughter will be turning 9 just days before we leave so perhaps they'll be in the clubs together.

Regarding the dolphin encounter. It sounds fun. From what I've read, you spend about 10 minutes with the dolphin. ALso from what I've read, if you sign up for one of the photopackages, you'll get better "encounters". We plan on buying the album. It sounds very nice although a little pricey. My daughter will FREAK OUT that she'll be so close to a dolphin. She'll LOVE it.

Can't believe I have been planning for 13 months now and we finally hit the 6 month out mark.

I have started to pick up travel size stuff and looking at basket from Shirley.

I have never seen a custom order cake. I have just seen the standard cake they have with "Congratulations" or "Happy Birthday" on it.

Don't worry, you did. I loved cruising with a verandah (but have only been able to when sister comes along to split the cost).

Generally the top and bottom tier sell out first; the top because there aren't that many, the bottom as they are less expensive.
