we got down to 38 last night. What happened to the sunny Florida where everyone comes to for retirement because of the beautiful sunny winters??

Good morning everyone. Thanks for all the notes and well wishes. Yes, my oldest dog, Skipper, passed away in our arms on Sunday morning. He was 13 years old and had been with me since I got my first job after college. The only time we were separated was the 1 year I lived in an apartment and couldn't have him there. Lisa and I have two other wonderful dogs, and three special cats, but he was mine.

Linda: I love that poem. I actually found it on the internet yesterday.

Well the kids have another day off. They are very happy We are watching my 2 nieces today because they don't have school either. I got called into work this afternoon. I have not worked in a while so I am looking forward to getting out of the house. Not much else going on.

Bob-So sorry to hear about your dog. I actually had my cat pass away at my feet. It was so sad. I did not have the heart to put her down. You guys will be in our prayers.

Well the kids have another day off. They are very happy We are watching my 2 nieces today because they don't have school either.

My DD has jumped up the last 2 days hoping she don't have school because of the cold, but it's not nearly as cold here as it is for you Lorna and all you others way up north.
We are a balmy 12 degrees .

Waiting for the plummer right now-big leak under the kitchen sink after the $900+ I just paid for my van to be fixed, this plumming expense was unwanted !!!

DS went to school today after being out of school for 3 days-hopefully he took a full box of tissues with him

Today is my 19th anniversary-nothing planned. I love February because it's our anniversary, then valentine's day, and then my birthday--bring on the goodies

Well our afternoon is shaping up nicely after a cold start.
It may hit 65, I hope so. Suppose to be mid 70's by the weekend.

We have plummers coming tomarrow afternoon to check out a leaky shower, luckily we are under warranty and wont cost us anything

It turned out to be pretty good today for weather once it warmed up this afternoon.

I finally decided on sloppy joes for dinner. They turned out pretty good.

Made it all the way up to 17 here today. Practically a heat wave!

So, Kathy? Is the cookbook ok to send to everyone else now? (You're supposed to be looking for MISTEAKS! lol)

That poem was a big help to us when our cat died - we had Lion 18 years and brought him from Germany to California, then drove a cross country with him. I think our fur babies are family members too and only fitting for us to show our sympathy for their loss too.

Happy Anniversary, Okie. When's your birthday? Mine is later this month also, but our Anniversary isn't til next month.

I didnt notice any mistakes, but I wasnt looking for them either. Everything sounded so good!! I thought the pictures were a nice touch. The "Dedicated" section was a very nice addition, it worked out well.

I just finished reading the last recipe about 10 minutes ago. Now I have to decide what to try first.

Good morning everyone


Shell, that is a great cake!!! Have made it many times. My oldest son always wanted that for his birthday since he was about 10 years old.

Well today we have a plumber coming to fix the leaky shower. Boy it was dripping hard enough last night I woke up thinking it was pouring rain last night, but it was the shower, so it looks like he is coming just in time. So glad it is under warranty still, so no bill.

Minnie has a check up today, hopefully it is for nothing. Her saliva has started having a bad smell soemtimes which can be a sign of digestive problems and more. Hopefully it isnt anything, just trying to keep a check on things.
That is about it for today for me. So glad it is going to be nice later today, high 70!!!!
