I need some opinions please.

We will be visiting the resorts on Friday before the cruise. THe question is would you stay there in Kissimmiee and drive in the morning to the port or just drive to the port the next morning.

I have fround some GREAT prices online. Either stay a few miles down International Drive or 12 miles from the port. WE will be staying a t budget hotels so there is no difference there just wondering what everyone thinks would be better and why.

Joanna ... oh, you made me all oogie this morning with those itineraries, especially considering the first one you posted starts on my birthday    !!! You're such a thoughtful, special BFF :lovestruc

I have instructed Da Mutt to check them out immediately! :thumbsup2

I agree with you on the 3rd one ... the right ports, but sea days are a necessity. Plus it's Carnival and I'm not convinced I want to sail them.

Well were all very sad here. We need to cancel both of our excursions. We just will not be able to do it money wise. Its a good thing the cruise its self is already paid for.:sad1:

whew... thats at least some good news.... whew

I'll do whatever cruise you folks agree on. As long as we go together, it has some sea days and its longer...I want a longer one...is that bad?

Hi wife! :wave2:
Hi cmom! :wave2:

Hi Husband :wave2:
Hi cmom :wave2:

You know I like my sea days ... and both itineraries are pretty great! I think we hit on a couple of really good choices. Have I mentioned lately Joanna rocks?

Hey Mutt, check out both ships when you get a moment and let us know which is better.

(Bubba, just for your reference, Mutt and I are also IMing each other at the same time we're posting, so it's kinda like we're having a conversation, k? :rotfl: )

Morning Folks!

Hope everyone is having a great week. Will be glad when this one is over. I am STILL trying to reorient back to this time zone.

CMOM: Don't worry, you will still have a great time. DW and I had to do the same thing on our first cruise. I think the only thing on our shipboard account were tips and one round of Bingo.:thumbsup2

shoot, I scrolled up.... dang it anyways...I missed watchin Okie walking out of the room. Fiddlesticks!

Morning nanas:banana: Today we are going to the nursing home to see the lady we have been caring for. They called yesterday and she is really bad. Probably a few more days and we will be holding a funeral:guilty: After that we are going to my favorite place for icecream. It is home made and sooooo good!!!  DD has a choir concert tonight.

JoAnna-Those cruises sound great! I wish we could go, but I can not take the kids out of school for that long and they no longer have a week off in February. I think we will probably stick to going over Thanksgiving in 2010, then I will just have to pull the kids out 2 days.

Marie-You will still have a great time. I am sure you guys will find something to do.

Christine-Hope you are feeling better!:flower3:

Hi Marie :wave2:
Hi Shell :wave2:
Hi Steph :wave2:

:wave2: and to anyone else I may have missed!! :goodvibes

Marie, it's okay, try not to be too upset!! Just think you'll be able to stay on that magical not so crowded ship while everyone else is out doing their excursions and you'll be saving money!! ;) We are only doing one excursion and that's the dolphin swim. We probably won't be cruising for a few years after this so we decided to do it for DD.

Okay so who is going to put up their Christmas tree and decorations before leaving for the cruise? We have "always" had a live Christmas tree but I told DH that I was not getting back on December 6th, have all the unpacking to do and washing, get caught up with work (for two jobs btw), and then have to worry about putting up decorations :sad2: . Problem solved.. I went out last weekend and bought an artificial Christmas tree and we're going to put up our Christmas decorations a few days before we leave!!

We live close to the port, and we go to Orlando frequently, so I can give you my opinion. What hotels are you considering? If you stay in Kissimmee, it may feel more "vacationy" depending on your perspective. The main drag in Kissimmee has that feel to it. I don't know where you are looking at 12 miles from the port. It may be near the interstate, and not such a "vacationy" feeling to it.

I asked DH about it, and he said to consider the following:
About a 40 minute drive from Kissimmee
Tolls
Parking at Port $15 a day. (The hotel near the Port might have a shuttle to Port and free parking) We don't know if you are renting a car, or driving your own.

If you are good about getting up and getting going in the morning, then Kissimmee won't be too bad. If you are like me and hate mornings, then you might want to be closer.

We have checked out most of the hotels around here recently for one of my cousins so we can let you know about the ones you are looking at. We'd be very happy to help.

The sandbar area that they take you to see them is beautiful. The water is so clear and a very pretty light blue. The stingrays are all around you. They think you have food for them, so they like people.

yea she talks big now but I had to almost force her in the water to see the sting rays.

It is a once in a lifetime experience you will be in awe the whole time you are there.

Good morning ALL !!!!!!!

Hey LisaRae! We're also looking for a place to stay and are still undecided. We will be flying into MCO on Thursday, 11/27 around 5:00 and going to get a rental car. We were thinking of staying somewhere in Orlando and going to Downtown Disney maybe on Friday and then either staying Friday night again in Orlando or driving to Cape Canaveral or Cocoa and staying there Friday night so we can be close to the Port for Sat. am!! I am not a morning person either :sad2: . DH says I am the devil in disquise in the mornings!! What would you recommend? What is there to do in Kissimmee without spending tons of $$ ?

Have to read all the pages...

Went out looking for FE gifts today, Geez, can't find anything...decisions, decisions...I'm thinking of bringing a seat from Shea stadium as my region gift. What ya think...

Is this a separate gift from the Fish Extenders; or do we give everybody a regional gift?

I made a spreadsheet for all the men, women, teen boys, teen girls, tween boys, tween girls, little boys, little girls, and babies so that I can try to get appropriate gifts. I'm not sure my division points for teen, tween, and little were exactly right, but I just tried to think of how a nine-year-old would see themselves, and I made them a tween. I hope I can find some good gifts.
